Chapter 4

Chloe woke up feeling happy and refreshed and very hopeful about today. She got out of bed said her prayers, and went to have her bath, she got dressed and made her way downstairs.

She was stopped by the owner of the guest house who offered her a complimentary breakfast of turkey sandwich,Chloe gladly accepted it and took it to go. She got to work quite early and was lucky Amelia also arrived just in time.

"Good morning Chloe"Amelia said as she opened the doors to the supermarket.

"Good morning and thank you so much for yesterday, you don't know how much you've changed my life" Chloe said

"It's not a big deal, you are also very helpful and one thing is for sure you earned it I didn't do you any favor" Amelia said.

"So would I be getting paid in full this time around?"Chloe asked.

"I paid you in full yesterday silly,you were very helpful and we made lots of sales you are a good luck charm" Amelia said and Chloe couldn't help but blush due to the fact that she had always been considered bad luck by her father and friends at school.

"Oh sorry I thought you calculated it from the moment I began working" Chloe said.

"No I didn't, let's go to work the boss is coming today you also need to do me a favor" Amelia said.

"What's that?"Chloe asked already willing to help Amelia without knowing what she had in mind to ask her.

"So I have a date tonight by 6, I need you to work late in the night because some items would arrive by 8 or so from Walter industries" Amelia explained.

"What type of items?"Chloe said.

"Electronics" Amelia said.

"Okay"Chloe said and a customer came in.

In the evening...

Chloe was still at the counter when Amelia came out in a long sleeved black velvet dress.

"Someone's looking ready for a date"Chloe said admiring Amelia's dress.

"Yes she is"Amelia said.

"Good luck though and I pray it works out or wait up he's your boyfriend already?"Chloe asked.

"No he isn't,he is someone I met on social media it's a matchmaking app darling"Amelia said

"Oh ok,best of luck"Chloe said.

"Thanks my love,I really appreciate this favor I owe you big time"Amelia said as she left.

Chloe left to arrange the shelf that was the moment she heard footsteps,she peeked and saw it was two men carrying a giant freezer inside the supermarket, she walked up to them.

"Good evening,you must be from Walter Industries"Chloe said.

"Yes we are, we are here to drop the electronics you ordered from our company"One of the men said.

"Ok,do you guys need any help carrying anything less heavy?"Amelia asked.

"No thank you though"They said to her kind gesture as they went outside to get more of the electronics.

After a few minutes,they had finished setting up the electronics and Chloe thanked them as they left.

"Walter industries interesting"Chloe said to herself as she looked at the electronics, she went through the list Amelia handed to her and saw two things hadn't been brought in. She didn't want to be in trouble and went outside to check if they had left already, unfortunately for her they had driven off.

She made up her mind that she would wake up very early tomorrow to make her reports at the company, she didn't want to be accused of stealing or selling the items without taking accounts for it,she immediately made accounts for the day and closed the supermarket.

The Next morning...

Chloe woke up early and set out to Walter Industries with the list,she had stayed up all night just to make research on where the company was. She prayed they didn't deny it and if they did she would put up a fight with them because she wasn't going to risk her job for something that wasn't her fault.

Minutes later,she finally got to the industry she marveled at the gigantic structure before her she hadn't seen anything like it,she quickly came back to her senses and went inside the building.

She saw the elevator but didn't know how to make use of it since it was her first time seeing something like that and she was already used to stairs.Then a man who wasn't gym-perfect just solid,the kind of solid that comes from continuous years of showing up with dark eyes that didn't miss much and his strong cologne quickly went into Chloe's nostrils,his presence sent chills down her spine, she could literally tell he was perfect and he had left her speechless.

He pressed the button and the elevator's door opened, Chloe immediately ran in he looked at her and also walked in. He pressed the button to the top floor, Chloe wasn't even aware of where she was heading to.

They finally got to the top floor and the man walked in without even giving her a second look, Chloe noticed all the workers there seemed to respect the man. She looked around hoping to see someone who looked nice,she walked up to a woman.

"Good morning ma'am"Chloe said.

"Good morning,how may I help you?"The woman said.

"Ma'am I'm actually here to make a report on items we ordered from here"Chloe said.

"Go over there,you would meet someone he would direct you to our sale representative"The woman said pointing to a man.

"Thank you ma'am"Chloe said as she walked up the man

"Good morning sir"Chloe said.

"Good morning,how may I be of help to you?"The man asked.

"Are you the sales representative?"She asked.

"Yes I am"He replied.

"Ok so yesterday items were ordered from our supermarket and they didn't deliver everything we ordered,two items weren't delivered"Chloe said as she handed him the paper which contained the items they sent out.

"Oh really?"The sales representative looked at the paper,he called someone and asked him to confirm the items they sent out.

The person came back and confirmed the two items which Chloe claimed weren't delivered was sent out yesterday.

"You can see,we sent the items out"The man said.

"No you didn't"Chloe said.

"Are you trying to play smart?We always make sure all our orders are sent out complete and you are here making false claims,are you trying to ruin the reputation of this company?"The man asked already getting mad.

"Why would I have a reason to come here if it was really delivered to the supermarket"Chloe said.

"It would be better you leave right now,so we don't call security on you"The man threatened.

"You dare not"Chloe warned.

"Security!"The man called out and two security men quickly came.

"Throw her out of here"The man said,Chloe quickly thought fast and brought her phone out making a video.

"Don't touch her, she's trying to play smart"The man said.

"Good day guys,I'm here at Walter industries to file a report about undelivered orders and they claim they delivered it when they didn't"Chloe said to the camera. They tried to grab her phone from her but she ran very fast into a nearby office,she locked the door and was about to post the video when someone grabbed her phone from behind.

"Give it back"Chloe said and soon realized it was the man she met earlier.

"You!What are you doing here?"She asked.

"I should be asking you that"He replied as he crossed his arms.

"Hand me my phone"Chloe said.

"No I won't,what are you doing in my office?"He asked.

"Why would you ask me that? Don't you realize your colleagues are crazy and are also scammers?"Chloe asked.

"Colleagues?"He asked confused.

"Don't you work here?"She asked.

"I own here"He said and that was the moment Chloe realized she was standing before the CEO of Walter Industries,Mr Amirion Walter.

"I am so sorry...Wait up why should I be?You are supposed to tell me that"Chloe said

"Yeah right"He scoffed.

"Did you just scoff?"Chloe asked.

"I did,what are you going to do about it?"He asked trying to intimidate her.

"Well I am going to post this video I made,so the whole world can see the type of people who work in your company"Chloe said.

"Have you forgotten I have your phone?"Mr Amirion asked.

"Give it back"Chloe said as she tried to grab her phone.

"One scratch on my tux and you'd spend the rest of your life working for me"He threatened.

"Are you trying to show off?"She asked clearly disgusted.

"I'm stating facts, Who's your daddy?What does he do? What's his net worth?"Mr. Amirion asked.

"You are so rude,hand me my phone back"Chloe said.

"Answer my question"He said.

"I don't have to"Chloe said.

"You have to because I have your phone and I'm not handing it over until you answer my questions"He said.

"Ok my dad is Philip Anschutz,do you know him?"Chloe said and Mr Amirion grinned.

"You should be asking yourself that because I'm going to put a phone call to him now and tell him his daughter is here with me"Mr Amirion said as he got his phone out and called someone.

"Good day Mr Philip,your daughter is here with..."Chloe grabbed his phone and smashed it.

"Are you insane?"He asked his tone changed.

"Couldn't you tell I was lying?"Chloe said already stressed out.

"I don't care anymore,do you realize that phone you smashed is worth $12000?" He asked and Chloe dared not utter any other word.

"I'm so..so....sorry"She stuttered knowing she was already in debt.

"That can't do nothing,now we are now going to head to the gadget store to order a new one"He said as he closed his laptop and opened the door,he put her phone in his pocket grabbed her arm and came outside.

All his workers had been anticipating this,they stared at them wondering what Chloe must have done.

"Let go of me"Chloe said struggling but his grip was too firm,he dragged her into the elevator held her hands all through till he got to his car,he got her into the car so did he, he made sure he locked the car so she couldn't get away.

"I already apologized what else do you want from me?"Chloe asked on the verge of crying.

"Save those tears"He said as he started his car's engine and soon got on the road.

"I'm just a poor girl,I don't even have up to $50 with me"Chloe said already crying.

"You should have thought about that before you came to my office,made a scene and smashed my phone"He said.

"What can I do for you to let me go?"Chloe asked.

"Hmmmm"He let out.

"Please talk"Chloe said realizing she was already late for work.

"Give me an heir"He said, Chloe's brain short circuited by that statement.

"Huh? Are you insane?"Chloe asked.

"I'm not,else you want to get arrested and trust me you won't regret it"He said.

"I just smashed your phone now you are saying I should replace it with an heir,you wanna sleep with me just cause I smashed your phone?"Chloe asked clearly pissed but she tried so hard not to show it.

"Yes deal or no deal?"He asked.

"No deal"Chloe said.

"Look over there"Mr Amirion said as he pointed across the road,Chloe looked and saw it was a police station.

"Ohk ohk, it's a deal"Chloe finally agreed.

"Don't try to play smart with me and I'm very serious about it,if you try to run my spies will catch you and send you to jail"Mr Amirion threatened.

"I won't but I don't understand something you look 30 something,how come you don't have a child and you're not married"Chloe said and that question sent silence to Mr Amirion .
