Chapter 2

Mr Hampson returned home after few hours with two guys.

"Where's that girl?"He asked.

"What girl?"Mrs Hampson replied.

"Don't act like you don't know who I'm talking about"He warned.

"You mean Chloe?"She asked and he just gave her a threatening look.

"Oh you definitely mean Chloe, she left"Mrs Hampson said .

"And you let her?And where she did go to?"Mr Hampson asked as he raised his brow up.

"I...I don't... don't know"Mrs Hampson stuttered in fear and Mr Hampson just let out a laugh which sounded like a threat.

"Oh my darling wife,I give you 72 hours nothing less nothing more than that to find a Chloe and bring her to me"Mr Hampson threatened.

"Yes I will"Mrs Hampson looked down in fear.

"Let's go"Mr Hampson said to the two guys and they left,Mrs Hampson quickly grabbed her phone trying to reach Chloe but it turned out her number wasn't going through.

Chloe had gotten to the store where she worked as a part time worker.

"Good evening Mrs Whitney"Chloe said to the middle aged lady who happened to her boss.

"Good evening dear"She replied with a warm smile.

"If I may ask,why are you late again?"Mrs Whitney asked.

"I worked late into the night"Chloe lied.

"Ok,make sure you don't do again else I would be forced to deduct a certain amount from the wage I pay you"Mrs Whitney said.

"Yes ma'am" Chloe said and went to the counter, thinking of where she'd spend the night.

Then she saw a magazine which had an advertisement for the vacancy for a waitress.

"The pay is so enticing, $10 for an hour and I could work 8-5 that would be $100 a day plus time pay from here which is going to be a total of $150 a day" Chloe said as she thought of the offer .

"The interview is tomorrow, I have to look my best and pray I get picked" Chloe said to herself as she smiled.

"Chloe I'd be leaving now,make sure you close all the doors and switch off all the lights before you leave'' Mrs Whitney said as she handed the. key to Chloe who was still lost in her thoughts.

"Chloe!" She called out again

"Yes ma'am" Chloe answered as she came back to her senses.

"Did you hear everything I said?" Mrs Whitney asked to confirm.

"Yes I did ma" Chloe said

"Ok goodnight and make sure you don't stay too late" Mrs Whitney said.

"Sure ma'am, I won't" Chloe said as Mrs Whitney left. As soon as she confirmed Mrs Whitney had gane, she locked the doors and switched off the light she planned to go to bed early to avoid being discovered that she slept at the store.

The next day, Chloe quickly woke up, had her bath and got into a nice dress for the interview she planned to go for.

She left the store and dropped the key under a carpet so it would be easier for Mrs Whitney to find it, she quickly got a taxi and soon arrived at the place which was named " SLATE & STEAM"

It was very huge and was already bustling,she quickly went in and made her intentions known and they led her into the office where she'd be interviewed.

She met two men sitting down and they all turned and focused their gaze on her,she could have sworn her knees had turned to jelly even when they were still perfectly normal.

"Good day Sirs" she quickly greeted.

"How may I help you young lady?" A bearded man who seemed to be in his late 30's asked Chloe with a warm smile.

"I saw the vacancy post for a waitress on a magazine and I came here for an interview" Chloe said.

"Seriously?" The man asked in disbelief.

"Yes sir, Is anything wrong sir?" Chloe asked.

" Nothing is wrong, it's just that I'm quite surprised you're here because I didn't think anyone would apply for the job because the pay is very little" The man said.

"It isn't little to me" Chloe said

"If that's the case,then you've got the job and you could start right away" The man said.

"Sir just like that?" Chloe asked in disbelief

"Yes or do you want me to do anything?"He asked

" No sir,thank you so much for this opportunity I won't let you down I promise" Chloe said happily.

"Sure, it's no problem here's your waitress outfit, you could walk down the hall and ask your colleagues where the changing room is" The man said and before Chloe left she asked him one question.

"Sorry to ask but sir what's your name?" Chloe asked. "You could call me Mr Harry and what's your name too?" Mr Harry asked.

"I'm Chloe Hampson" She replied.

"Nice to meet you Chloe and congratulations" Mr Harry said.

"Thank you sir" Chloe said and left happily.

"Didn't you notice her bruised face?" The other man asked.

" I did,maybe it was an accident" Mr Harry said.

"That doesn't look like an accident, it looked like she was violated" The other man said.

"I don't think it would be right to jump into conclusions just like that, maybe you could have a conversation with her since you're so worried about her" Mr Harry said

"I'll be right back soon" The man said and went after Chloe.
