The Change Of Magic

On February 21st, 2001 I had just turned twelve, and I was awoken to my father's Alan and Alex. Yes father’s I have two male dads. Alan is dad and Alex is Pa-Pa. My Pa-Pa is male but has female organs so that caused me to be born. We have family members from the black lake at Hogwarts. I wonder how it is like living near all that magic. I really want to go there but they don’t allow magical creatures to attend the school. Not even set foot in there even though there are ghosts in Hogwarts. My Aunt Sabrina told me that! I am visiting her today with my dads.  I only have my family… The other mermaids don't like me much; they say I’m peculiar. My Pa-Pa looks like he wants to tell me something but Dad is covering his mouth so he can’t say anything.They have been acting weird these few days. Pa-Pa is starting to get really mad so before he bites dad’s hand I say “Dad let Pa-Pa speak, do you want to sleep with the sharks?”  Dad sighs and gives Pa-Pa a weird look. What the heck is going on? Dad gives me some shrimp for breakfast, and I eat it all. But I still see how weird dad is acting. Pa-Pa starts to speak “Helga, me and your father have been talking.” I start to get nervous, are they getting a divorce?! Dad must have read my mind because he says “Helga, me and Pa-Pa are not getting a divorce. We love each other very much, we aren’t leaving each other, I promise.” I sigh in relief. I look at Pa-Pa “Are you okay Pa-Pa? You and dad have been acting very peculiar” Pa-Pa smiles and caresses my face. “Honey we were going to tell you right when we heard the news.” He then smiles and says the most amazing thing in the world. “The new headmaster is allowing magical creatures to attend school at Hogwarts. And because your aunt Sabrina is very close friends with the headmaster you will be going to Hogwarts in September like all the other magical children.” I squeal and swim around excitedly but then I ask “ Wait how am I going to go on land without dying, and I have no magic so why did I get chosen?” My fathers look at each other for a moment and dad says “You are magical! And different from all the other mermaids and you have the qualities to go, and the teachers already made a potion that you can take so you can go on land without a problem!” I smile and hug them both “Wow I can’t believe it I am going to a school, Hogwarts at that!” My fathers hug me and tell me to go and get ready to go see Aunt Sabrina.  I get ready and grab my amethyst that I found when going exploring around the black lake. It was under the dock like it was waiting for someone to swim and pick it up. I heard my father’s talking about how smart I am. The only reason I am smart is because I pay attention to my surroundings and eavesdrop and that I love to learn. That isn’t a thing for them to really talk about, I swim up to them and tell them that I am ready to leave. We leave our home and we make way to the black lake.
