Chapter Twenty

Mae was taking a swim in the pool by herself two days later when Kai surprised her by jumping into the pool and splashing her. She jerked her body back as he resurfaced smiling at her.

She splashed him back " You're such a jerk" she told him as he just smiled.

" OH princess you're already wet" he pointed out to her.

" That's not the point" she started to say when he interrupted her.

" Then what is your point?" he asked her.

She groaned " You're so frustrating " she said before kissing him hard.

He put both of his hands on her face deepened the kiss. For the last two days all these two really did was kiss and spend time together. It was a nice change for her since she normally spent her days by herself. Not to mention she felt like she was finally getting somewhere with Kai. In the past two days he was really showing her his funny personality, and he seemed like he was starting to care for her.

She would sneak into his room at night just to make out then sneak out afterwards. He never asked but she wasn't ready to sleep beside him all night. She just knew how tempting he was and he hadn't earned anything more then kissing. There was alot of work to do to get to that point, if at all ever.

" This is the sixth time I've caught you guys today you know" came the voice of Ace from the side of the pool.

" What's your point?" Mae asked him as Kai laughed.

Ace glared at her " Maybe keep it in private. Nobody wants to see that" he told her.

" Then close your eyes or stop looking for us" she told him.

" OH you little" he started to say as he clutched his fists.

" Enough, go find someone else to annoy" Kai told his brother.

" Alpha Ace I need your signature on some papers" came one of the Elders from the pack house.

Ace just glared at the two of them and walked away.

" Finally" Kai said before kissing her again.

After some time they both got out of the pool and went to their rooms to shower and dry off. Kai had some meetings so Mae was left to herself till supper. When Mae made it to the dinning room it was only Kai in there so she kissed him.

" That's seven" Ace growled coming into the room.

Mae just giggled and sat down as they all ate. The entire meal Ace just kept glaring at her and it felt like no matter what she did or said it just kept him mad.

" What is the plan for tonight love birds?" Ace asked them.

" I don't think anything" she told him.

" Good if you don't stop kissing you'll end up stuck together " Ace told her.

" OH how awful that would be" Kai said giving her a wink as she blushed.

Afterwards Mae went upstairs to her room and laid down on her bed reading her book when there was a knock on the door.

" Come in" she told the voice.

Kai walked in with a smile and sat down beside her " So as fun as all this making out has been I do need to talk to you about something " he told her.

She looked at him " I don't know how to word this. Do you want to be mated to me officially one day"? he asked her.

She shrugged her shoulders " I don't know. Given how I've been treated I never thought it was even a possibility " she told him.

" But now?" he asked her.

" I don't know, maybe. The mate bond makes me want everything from you and your brothers. It's my brain that has to remind me the feeling isn't mutal" she told him.

" What if it was?" he asked her.

" Well we know that isn't true. Max wants nothing to do with me. And Ace likes teasing and tormenting me but no desires for me or anything " she told him.

" Well, there is a way if you're serious" he told her.

" How?" she asked him.

" Theres training sessions you can do to become physically stronger, lots of different social and strategic training too" he told her.

" I don't understand why you're bringing this up" she told him.

He sighed " These past two days have been really fun. And I'd love for this to continue and progress, but without those training and abilities there's no way I'd be allowed to take you as my Luna" he told her.

She just glared at him " So I'm not good enough still is what you're saying " she said.

He sighed again " There is just certain qualities the pack expects from the Luna" he told her.

" Good to know " she told him.

" Also if you could show you're good enough Ace would want you" he told her.

The thought made her blush " He has Katherine " she reminded him.

" Yes but she's not his mate. He pretends differently but he wants you he's just trying to ignore those thoughts" he told her.

" As for Max I don't know but he can't ignore the mate bond forever " he told her.

" What makes you think I feel the same?" she whispered.

" Sorry?" he asked her confused.

" What makes you think I want you guys?" she spoke up louder this time.

" OH um well. We've been fooling around alot, you get very excited sexually when Ace punishes you. And I see the way you and Max chat. It's pretty obvious" he told her.

" Did you ever think that I was manipulating you to get what I want?" she asked him.

He just smiled " You're not capable of being manipulative" he told her.

She rolled her eyes " Well... I'm not willing to change just to maybe be accepted by the three of you. I am how I am and that's that" she told Kai as she got off her bed.

" Mae just think of how happy you could finally be if we all gave into what we really want" he told her.

" OH yes being stuck and bound to the three of you forever sounds like a dream" she told him crossing her arms.

" Don't start with that bullshit " he told her standing up and walking over to her.

" Bullshit huh? What a way to talk to your Luna" she told him.

" So what have these last two days been to you really?" she asked him.

" It's been fun we've been getting closer I thought" he told her.

" We were and then you want to change me" she told him.

He rolled his eyes " Are you almost in your heat again? You're really irritating right now and not seeing what I'm saying" he told her.

She just glared at him " No I'm just finally getting it. I'm sick of being your toy when I'm convenient. I'm sick of the two of you thinking you can just kiss me whenever you want and that I just always kiss back. I'm sick of those punishments Ace gives me when all he's doing is showing me the mate bond makes me just submit" she told him.

He sighed " What are you even saying right now?" he asked her.

" I'm saying I'm done. I'm not changing for you, for any of you. If that means I never have a chance with you three so be it" she told him.

" Whoa whoa wait a second" he said when she cut him off.

" Even if I made all these changes nothing would change. I'm done. Don't ever think you can kiss me again either, get the f**k out of my room" she told him.

" Mae" he started to say when she yelled at him.

" I SAID GET OUT" she yelled at the top of her lungs.

Kai just nodded and went to leave the room when the other two burst in.

" What's wrong everything ok?" Max asked her looking between the two of them.

" Everything is fine I've finally figured things out" she told him.

" When are you three going to reject me so I can move on with my life?" she asked them.

Ace just rolled his eyes at her " When we want to" he told her.

" Get on it I'm beyond fed up with the three of you" she told him as she went to leave her room.

Ace grabbed onto her wrist " You know better then to speak to me in that way" he told her.

" Ace let her go" Kai spoke up.

" I don't think you're understanding me. I'm done with you, all of you" she said yanking her wrist away.

" You're not being very smart right now Mae" he warned her.

" For the first time since I've gotten here yes I finally am. I'm beyond done, you have no control over me anymore. Any of you" she told them as she walked away.
