Chapter Sixteen

Two weeks had passed and Mae was sick of this. She never did anything or went anywhere she just stayed at the pack house. That morning she decided to head into town for something to do. She went downstairs and met the Alpha's for breakfast the last thing she needed was them being mad at her again for just taking off. They didn't deserve an explanation but she didn't want to deal with them.

Breakfast was ate in silence as it usually was now. Ever since the heat incident she didn't have anything to say to them, and whenever they spoke to her they were jerks so Max made them stop talking to her.

Mae let out a small cough before she began to speak " Just so you're all aware I'm going into town today, I won't be out late" she told them.

Max spoke up " What are your plans?" he asked her.

" I'm not sure yet, but I'm getting sick of being here all day everyday so I have to find something to do" she told him.

" Well I'm sure you'll find it" he said giving her a smile.

" I forbid it" Ace spoke up.

" I wasn't asking for permission " she told him rolling her eyes.

" I still forbid it. You need to be here where it's safe" he told her.

" OH yes because I'm so safe here" she mocked.

" Don't be stupid. You don't realize how good things are for you, they could be alot worse. Trust me on that" Ace told her.

Mae just rolled her eyes not wanting to deal with his drama.

Mae sighed " I know majority rules what do you think about it Kai?" she asked looking over at him.

If Kai said no she wouldn't be able to leave unless she literally snuck out. And as much as she didn't want to be there she also didn't want to agitate Ace either.

He looked up at her from his plate " We did tell you to make friends or get hobbies. I'm OK with it, just don't be out too late. Don't make me regret it" he told her.

She nodded " Thank you" she said.

" Fine get murdered and raped for all I care" Ace shouted as he left the room.

" He's being dramatic, just don't go into anyone's house though" Max spoke.

" Why would I go into someone's house?" she asked him with a laugh.

" I don't know" Max replied with a laugh.

Mae headed into town she was actually enjoying her walk. She needed to make more of a habit of leaving the pack house. Just even going to the pool wasn't enough separation. She was walking past the community centre when she saw a woman carrying tons of boxes into the building. Mae walked upto her and grabbed a box from the ground.

" Let me help you" she said carrying a box into the community centre.

The woman smiled at her " Thank you so much" she said.

" Just put the box anywhere" she said as she also put her own box down.

Mae put it down beside all of the other boxes " It's alot of boxes what do you have planned?" Mae asked her.

" Were hosting a fundraiser so the school can upgrade the gym" she told Mae.

" What kind of fundraiser?" Mae asked her.

" Book fair, there will also be food and drinks. Thankfully they're almost there so it isn't alot left to raise. It's Friday if you want to come, from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon " she told Mae.

" Thank you I just might" she said as she went to leave.

" I'm Penelope, what's your name?" Penelope asked her.

" I'm Mae" was all she responded when Penelope gasped and bowed.

" I'm so sorry Luna Mae I didn't recognize you" she said bowing really low.

" Please don't bow. I'm not Luna" she told her.

" But you're their mate" she spoke.

Mae sighed " in theory" was all she got out when a male came in from a different door.

" So the rumors are true. Our Luna isn't even Luna" he spoke.

Mae just shrugged her shoulders " If you're ever looking for something to do we are always looking for volunteers " he told her.

" I am actually. I might just take you up on that" she told him as she left.

Mae actually found alot to keep her busy. She had decided to volunteer sometimes at the community centre, she joined a book club, and decided to go the gym a few times a week too. She made her way back home and went to go inside when she was roughly pulled out to the gardens. Mae went to scream when Kai put a hand over her mouth.

" You're fine don't scream. You can't go inside" he told her as he his arm wrapped around her waist holding her against him.

He took his hand off her mouth so she could speak " Why can't I?" she asked him.

" The others are having a meeting with the elders. If any of them spot you coming in right now they'll force you into the meeting" he told her.

" And?" she asked him not understanding.

" They'll want you to make Decisions, you're not qualified " he told her.

Mae rolled her eyes " Right" she told him.

" Well sneak in another way" he said grabbing onto her hand taking her a different way.

She pulled her hand out of his grasp but continued to follow him. They ended up climbing onto the roof and opened her bedroom window and got in that way.

" Bye" she said trying to close the window on him.

" You're welcome" he told her.

" That wasn't for my benefit and you know it. That was for the three of you" she told him rolling her eyes.

" You know what I'm sick of your attitude. For weeks now you've been acting so bitchy enough is enough" he told her.

" f**k you Kai. Both you and Ace tried to take advantage of me during a very vulnerable time , which I have no control over. Just to be told afterwards it would've meant nothing and it would've been a regret" she said glaring at him.

" Mae" he tried to say more but she cut him off.

" Thank goodness for Max at least one of you is decent. I can't imagine how I'd be feeling right now had we actually f****d" she told him.

" Satasfied for one" he told her with a grin.

" I highly doubt that. You're both beyond selfish I would have to finish myself off" she told him.

He glared at her " Not like you know what good s*x is. Had you even be kissed before Ace kissed you?" he asked mocking her.

Mae didn't reply " That's what I thought. Enjoy your virginity it's staying for awhile" he told her.

" If I find a nice guy who respects me I won't keep it" she told him crossing her arms over her chest.

Suddenly Kai came into her room shoving her into the wall clutching onto her chin hard " Say that again" he warned her glaring at her hard.

" You heard me" she told him.

" You go and f**k someone else we'll kill him, and make you watch. Still worth it?" he asked her.

Mae just laughed " You're pathetic " she responded.

He raised his hand ready to strike her, but be didn't. He put his hand down.

" You're just like Ace. Thinking hitting me will make me behave" she told him.

He glared at her " Don't ever compare me to him. I'm nothing like him" Kai told her.

" Could've fooled me. Last I checked it was also you that wanted to f**k me" she told him.

He didn't even respond he threw her door opened and stormed out.
