Chapter Seventeen

Before she knew it, the fundraiser had come. Mae had spent all week helping organize the books and setting up snacks and drinks for purchase as well. As for the day of they had plenty of hands so they didn't need her help. But when she was helping things get set up she saw some books she wanted for herself so she wanted to go to buy them. She got close to some of the other voulenterrs and she felt like maybe she had made some friends.
" I saw the books you were eyeing so I hid them for you" Penelope whispered as Mae came in.
Mae just smiled " That's really sweet of you, you didn't have to do that" she told her.
Penelope waved her hand " Think nothing of it. So later tonight Jasper, Evan and I are going to the club. Would you want to come with us?" she asked her.
" I'm not really allowed out after dark" Mae told her.
" They gave you a curfew?" Penelope asked her with a laugh.
" I guess so" Mae told her.
" Please come it will be fun. We will keep an eye on you of course nothing bad will happen to you" Penelope begged of her.
Everything in Mae was screaming at her not to. It wasn't worth dealing with the Alpha's wrath. But she also didn't care , she was sick of all their rules without receiving anything back.
" OK but I should sneak out and sneak back in. Pick me up at the gate to the pack house, you can't see it from the house" she told her.
" I love that, ok well get you at ten" she said as Mae smiled.
" I better get back, since I'm breaking the rules I'm better off being there all day" she told her as Penelope nodded and smiled.
Once Mae got home she went into the library and started reading her new book. She could hear and smell the Alphas in the house and walking all around. No one bothered her till it was lunch. Mae was genuinely obsessed with this book she didn't put it down during lunch.
" You're being rude to your Alpha's. What's so interesting you don't want to speak to us?" Ace spoke up.
Mae just giggled " You'll never know. This definitely isn't your style of book" she told him glancing up from her book.
Ace reached over and grabbed the book from her hands and read a passage out loud " he grabbed hard onto her breast as his tongue swirled around making her shake as she had her release". I thought women didn't like porn" Ace spoke.
Mae rolled her eyes " That's not porn it's a love story" she told him trying to get her book back.
" He gently bit her rosebud causing her to scream. The f**k Is a rosebud?" he asked as his brothers laughed.
" Probably her c**t" Kai spoke up.
" Then call it a c**t" Ace said rolling his eyes.
" You're so immature " Mae said reaching over and grabbing her book back.
" I'm the immature one? You're the one reading and porn pretending it's a love story" Ace told her.
" Be careful with this stuff. If you get too aroused you'll have no one to take care of you" Ace said leaving the room.
Mae just rolled her eyes and went back to her book. As the day went on she kept an eye on time while also not making it obvious. She finally finished her book but was pretending she wasn't this would be her cover.
" So did he cover her body with his love juice yet?" Ace asked with a smirk during supper.
Mae didn't respond just kept quiet. She let out a yawn " I'm pretty tired I think I'm going to bed early tonight" she told them.
" Sure ya are. I wonder how quiet you can keep your orgasims " Ace said as Max hit him across the head.
" OH right my bad. Only a real man could do that for her not some imaginary book" Ace said as Max rolled his eyes.
" Have a good night Mae" Max said giving her a smile.
It was about eight Mae had time to kill. She decided to put some pillows under the blanket just in case they came in even thought they shouldn't be. Mae got dressed in a tight black dress and did her hair and make up. She looked at the clock as almost ten. She quietly opened her window and took a step down.
Her room was right at the roof so made it easy to come down. She got to the edge and slowly lowered herself down. She looked back at the pack house once more before she took off. When she got to the gate her friends were already there.
" Hey" she said opening the car door.
" You look hot" Evan spoke up eyeing her up and down.
" Stop" she Said laughing.
They drove to the club and it was already crazy. They got in quickly and Penelope went and got them all drinks.
" I didn't know what you liked but got you some vodka shots" she said placing them down.
Without thinking about it she slammed it back and coughed " That burns" she said with a laugh.
" Yup it does" Penelope said taking a shot of her own.
Within an hour Mae was completely drunk, she should've expected it she had never drank before. She kept slipping and almost falling over.
" We need to get her home before the Alpha's kill us" Evan told Penelope who nodded agreeing with him.
They drove her home and dropped her off at the gate. She stumbled her way into the pack house completely forgetting that she was supposed to sneak back in.
" Mae why were you outside?" came the voice of Kai.
" Uh oh" she spoke out loud with a laugh.
" Have you been drinking?" he asked and she grinned.
" Only a little" she said as she took a step and stumbled.
He caught her instantly " let's get you to bed" he said picking her up and carrying her.
" You have such big muscles" she said grabbing onto his arm.
He ignored her and gently put her onto her bed " How much in trouble am I?" she asked him with a pout.
" Well deal with you in the morning. Right now get some sleep" he told her placing a bowl beside her bed.
He helped her undress and get into her pj's " Well thank you for your mercy" she told him.
He just grinned " You're too drunk to punish wouldn't be fair" he told her.
He laid down beside her on her bed " You're not leaving?" she asked him.
He shook his head no " I want to make sure you're safe. Just go to sleep" he told her.
He quickly got up and turned off her bedroom light and laid back down. Mae passed out almost instantly.
