Chapter Eight

Last night showed Mae that no matter what she did she would never be enough for these guys. No matter what she did or how she acted nothing was going to change. She still didn't understand why she wasn't being rejected they must be having fun playing games with her. Well the games stopped now. The next morning she left the pack house without saying anything to anyone, and even before breakfast.

There was no reason for her to be socializing with them everyday. She was dressed in a cute short yellow sundress and sandals. When she was going through the pack yesterday with Kai he showed her this really cute café that she definitely wanted to try. She still had money left from all her years of working so it's not even like she had to bother them for money, at least not yet anyway. Eventually her money would run out but that was a problem for another day.

She just ended up walking to the Cafe it wasn't that far from the pack house, maybe about fifteen minutes. Once she got to the Cafe she pulled on the door handle but they weren't open yet. She took a seat at a nearby bench and patiently waited for them to open. It wasn't a long wait and she saw staff putting chairs out onto the patio. She smiled at the staff as she walked upto them.

" Good morning miss, would you like to eat inside or on the patio this morning?" the man asked her.

" Inside if that's alright" she told him and he nodded.

" I'll be with you in just a moment, we're short staffed today so its just me. But go on in and take a look at the menu" he told her.

She walked into the Cafe and took a look around. It was beyond cute in here, comfy couches and bookshelves on one side. A few tables and booths. She went upto the counter and took a look at the menu, there was many good options. The staff member came in shortly and went behind the counter.

" Sorry about that what can I get you?" he asked her.

" Can I get the strawberry French toast, with bacon and scrambled eggs? I would also like a large black coffee please" she said to him as she reached into her purse for her money.

" Of course. Your total is $9.80" he told her as she handed him the exact cash.

" Thank you, I'll get it to you as soon as it's ready" he told her as she went and took a seat on one of the couches and grabbed a book.

Within a few minutes he came back with her coffee. Not too long after that he came back with her breakfast. Mae took a bite and let out a slight moan it was that good.

He laughed at her slightly " Enjoying it?" he asked and she nodded her head.

" I'm glad if you need anything else let me know" he said as he went to walk away.

" Thank you, sorry I didn't catch your name" she told him.

" Steven, and yours?" he asked her.

" Mae" she replied.

His eyes widened " Luna Mae" he said with a quick bow of his head.

" OH please don't bow, I'm not going to be Luna. You don't need to be formal with me" she begged him.

" Why not?" he asked her.

She shrugged her shoulders " they don't want anything to do with me. I'm not sure why they just dont" she told him.

He rolled his eyes " Don't repeat this but they're weird sometimes, their reasons for things don't always make sense" he told her.

She nodded her head agreeing with him " I don't want to talk about them though. Is business busy?" she asked him changing the subject.

" Not bad could be better" he told her.

She spent the next two hours there chatting with Steven in between customers. She was actually enjoying herself.

" As much as I don't want to I should head back. It was nice to meet you Steven thanks for hanging out with me" she told him.

" It was my pleasure Mae. If you're ever looking for a friend you've got one in me" he told her.

She smiled at him " Thank you" she said giving him a hug.

He hugged her back before leaving and helping a customer that just came in the door. Mae started her walk back to the pack by this point things had picked up and there was actually people out now. She came across a flower shop and picked herself up some flowers, red roses were her favourite. She wanted them for her room. Once she was done she made her way back.

She opened the front door and was instantly met with the three of them standing at the front door. If looks could kill she would be dead.

" Where the f**k have you been?" Ace asked.

" Does it matter?" she asked closing the door behind her.

" Don't play games with us Mae" Kai warned.

Before Mae could speak Max spoke up " You can't just do whatever you want you need to tell someone you're going" he told her.

" Why do you smell like another man? And flowers really?" Kai asked her.

Before she could respond Ace had slammed her into the door with a hand around her throat.

" Answer him you slut" he said glaring at her.

She looked over at Max who didn't say anything or step upto stop Ace he was too busy glaring.

" Café. Got breakfast. Made friend. I bought my own flowers" she struggled to get out.

Ace let go as she was gasping for breath he took the flowers and crushed them with his hands " You know if we find out you're lying we'll kill him right?" Ace asked her.

She rolled her eyes " I'm not lying. Even if I was who cares right? I mean nothing to you guys" she said to them.

" Correct you do mean nothing. Just a worthless slut. But all it takes is for someone wanting to hurt us and bam they're coming after you. Do you want that for yourself?" Ace asked her.

She rolled her eyes but shook her head no " So you understand, from now on you tell someone where you're going"? Kai asked her and she nodded her head yes.

" Don't test us Mae. I'm serious" Max said as he and Kai walked away.

She gave Ace one glance as she walked upstairs to her room. She was trying not to let the tears fall until she was in her room. That much rage from the three of them really scared her. She tried to close the door to her bedroom when it was thrown open by Ace.

" Ace?" she asked him trying to keep her cool.

" I'm not finished with you" he said slamming the door behind himself.

She just stared at him as she started shaking " Are you really that stupid that you don't see the danger you put yourself in today? Or do you just not care?" he asked her.

" Or is it the third thing going through my mind. That you are in fact a slut and are just doing this to rile my brothers and I up. To make it so we desire what we can't have" he told her as she started to back up as he got closer to her.

" Ace" she started to say when her back hit the wall.

He was hovering close to her now " Do what you're told. Understand me?" he asked her.

Before she could respond his lips were on hers. Hard, punishing and intense. Mae was shocked for a few seconds he pulled away and looked at her.

He looked at her and she nodded and they kissed again. This time Mae wasn't as shocked Ace grabbed onto her face as he deepened the kiss causing a moan to come from Mae.
