Chapter Twelve:TWO DAYS BEFORE THE BABY NAMING CEREMONY

2809 Words
Todd’s POV Our parents are getting everything set up for the announcement ceremony for the naming of the twins and the future alphas of the pack. But it’s more like a baby shower, as everybody in the pack brings a gift for both the babies to keep as a keepsake growing up. The gifts stay in a chest that the kids will be able to receive on their 18th birthday. "Mom, how are all the plans coming along? We have two more days until the ceremony," I ask. "Oh, everything is falling into place," my mother says. "Could we get a hint of what the babies' names are?" Selene asks me. "No, it is a surprise," I state. "Oh, come on, son, just a little hint?" My mother begs. "I say no, mother," I laugh and shake my head at my mother, knowing damn well that she is going to keep on asking me until I give in. "Fine, I'll just ask Samantha about the names," my mother says and walks out of the kitchen. Samantha's POV I am sitting in the nursery, rocking Thor, and feeding him. I hum a lullaby that my mother once sang to me when I was a baby, feeling overjoyed that I am a mother myself now. Todd's mother, Celeste, walks in the room and smiles at me with joy in her eyes. "Hey Celeste, how are you doing today?" I ask her. While still humming to Thor. "I am good, Samantha, and how are my grandbabies doing today?" She walks up to Athena's crib and picks her up. Holding her, she walks to me with a smile on her face. "How are the plans coming along for the ceremony?" I ask Celeste. "Oh, they are coming along great! By the way, what are their names?" She asks me. "You will have to wait just like the rest of the pack," I tell her. She laughs at me. "You are just like my son. Do you know that? Neither one of you will tell me the names of the babies." "Where are my parents?" I ask Celeste. "Your mother and father are making arrangements for the catering, and the seating set up for the ceremony." "Let me put the babies down for their nap, and then we can go see how everything is going." I put Thor in his crib while Celeste puts Athena in hers. We walk out of the nursery and down to the kitchen where Todd is at. I stand in the doorway, watching him make his way around the kitchen getting everything ready for dinner, smiling. "Todd, your mother and I are going for a walk. The babies are in their cribs, taking their naps.” “Be home for dinner, my love. I got this all under control." He tells me, smiling. "I will. When do I ever miss a meal when you are the one doing the cooking?" I laugh at this, and then Celeste and I leave the house. We walk until we get to the place that the ceremony will be held, and I walk up to my mother and hug her. "Mom, how are you doing today?" I ask her. "I am great, and it looks like motherhood is treating you kindly," She says to me, smiling. I walk around the clearing with my mother for a few hours, seeing how everything is going and fixing things to my liking, making my mother laugh at me. "Mom, I do need to get back home for dinner. Todd tells me not to be late," I tell my mom, hugging her. I head home and walk inside the house. "What smells so wonderful?" I ask Todd when I walk into the kitchen "My famous moussaka, dear, you should give it a try," he tells me. "Give me a little bit of time to get changed, love, I smell awful," I laugh. Todd's POV "Babe, you smell sexy. And hurry up, because I'm starving!" I yell after her as she runs up to our room. Then I set the table, waiting for my wife to come back downstairs so that we can eat dinner. "Oh, boy, let’s eat! I'm starving, too," Samantha states, walking back into the kitchen and sitting down at the table, ready to eat. "I hope you like dinner, hun. I slaved over a hot stove all day to make sure you had food when you got home." I laugh at her when she gives me the puppy dog face. "This is delicious, hun, I love it when you do the cooking," Samantha says while eating the moussaka and drinking some water with it. “I am glad you like it. When you are done, would you help me with the dishes? Then we can give the pups their bath and feed them before we put them to bed," I say. "You know I always help with the dishes when you cook. We are a team!" Samantha smiles. "My mom stopped by today and was bugging me about the babies’ names. Did your mother do the same?" I ask her. "Yes, she did, and I tell her that she had to wait until the ceremony," she laughs. We clean up the table and put the leftovers in the fridge before doing the dishes and putting them away. "Okay, let us go and take care of Thor and Athena," I say as we walk upstairs to the nursery. We bathe the twins, and Samantha feeds them. "Good night, my babies. Soon you will be announced to the pack as Thor and Athena Black," Samantha tells the babies as she lays them in their cribs. Samantha's POV Today is the day that we announce the names of the twins to the pack. Our parents have been driving us insane, trying to get us to tell them the names of the twins, knowing that they had to wait until today. I already know that our parents will walk over to the ceremony area with us because they want to be with the twins almost all the time, which is fine by me. I also have another announcement that I will be making at the party today. Nobody but me knows this secret, and I am happy. Todd is getting the twins ready while I make breakfast for our parents and us. I make killer waffles, pancakes, and eggs. For some reason, our parents don't even cook anymore; they expect me to do the cooking for breakfast and Todd to cook dinner. We always take turns doing the cooking. "Todd, are you and the twins almost ready for breakfast? Our parents will be here in less than five minutes," I call up the stairs. "I got Athena dressed, but I can't get Thor to sit down long enough to put his clothes on him. He keeps running around the room," Todd tells me. "What do you mean that he is running around?" I ask him. "Come up here and see for yourself!" "I can't. I'm making breakfast." My parents walk into the kitchen just then. "Todd, our parents are here! Maybe your dad can help you with our son," I laugh. "What seems to be the problem, Samantha?" Alpha Bruce asks me. "Oh, it seems your grandson is running around the room in his birthday suit, and Todd can't catch him," I say, laughing, making our parents laugh. "Like they say, like father like son. I’ll go and help him out." Alpha Bruce laughs and goes up to the twins' nursery. "Mom, I don't know what to do. The twins are growing so much, and it has only been a week since they were born. How did you deal with it?" I ask my mother. Selene's POV "It is the Alpha Blood in them, and yes, you did grow up that fast," I say, laughing so hard, knowing that Bruce and Todd can't get the boy under control. "Can somebody please help us get this boy dressed? We can't catch him," Bruce calls down, making us laugh even harder. "I guess I can go up and see if I can help catch that boy," Samuel says, still laughing. "If those three can't catch that boy, I don't know what we will do. It’s funny how boys are," I tell the girls. "What can you say? Todd did the same thing at that age, and Bruce couldn't catch him. It was the funniest thing ever; I wish I had it on video," Celeste starts to laugh. "Oh, that reminds me," Samantha says, opening up the app for the nanny cam on her phone. "I got a nanny cam in the room. You want to watch what the boys are doing?" "Yes, please, this should be funny," I say. She opens the nanny cam app up and rewinds the video to this morning. We sit there and watch as the boys are having a tough time getting my grandson dressed. "Well, it looks like the men can't handle any of this,” I tell them. "Mom, if you will finish breakfast, I will go and help get my son dressed," Samantha says. "Okay, hun, make it quick," I tell her, knowing that my grandson is a mama's boy. Todd's POV "I don't know what got into him today," I tell my dad. "It is in the genes, son. You did this to me at that age, also," my father replies. "Is he always like this around you, Todd?" Samuel asks me. "Yes, he is a mama's boy. But this little angel right here is a daddy’s girl," I say, holding my daughter in my arms. "Dada," my daughter says, making me look at her in shock. I sit down, looking around, wondering if it was just me that heard that. But then I see that my dad and Samuel are also staring at her. "Did she call me Dada?" I ask my dad. "It sounds like it, son," my father tells me. Samantha finally walks into the nursery, and Thor runs into her arms, giggling. "Did my little man give these old farts a hard time?" She asks, giggling. "Mama," Thor says. Samantha smiles, holding onto Thor. "Oh, my little man just called me mama!" She says with tears in her eyes. "Let us get you dressed, okay, baby boy?" Thor nods at Samantha and giggles. "Hey, who are you calling old?" Samuel and Bruce say at the same time. "Well, I was calling all three of you old, since you couldn't get my son dressed," she laughs. "Hey, it is not our fault that he is a mama's boy," I tell her. Samantha's POV I get Thor dressed and ready in no time, trying to figure out why the men couldn't do it. Laughing to myself, I hug my son. "You are such a mama's boy, aren't you?" I say, tickling him. We head downstairs to the kitchen, and I set my son in his highchair. "Mom, I don't know why the men couldn't dress my son. He let me dress him!" I say, laughing, while the men stare at me. "It looks like he is a mama's boy, sweetie," my mom says. "Hey there, baby boy. How is my angel doing today?" My mom asks my son while kissing the top of his head. "Nana, I ran away from dada!" My son giggles. "Wow, a whole sentence!" Todd gasps. "You ran away from your dad, huh? That wasn't nice," my mother laughs. “Let us eat breakfast and get ready for the ceremony," I state while setting the food on the breakfast table. Samantha's POV After we eat breakfast, our parents watch the babies while we get ready for the ceremony. "Are you ready yet, love?" Todd asks me, just as I am walking out of the walk-in closet. "Yes, I am ready. Let us get the show on the road," I laugh at Todd. We head downstairs to the living room to find our parents. "We are ready whenever you are," Todd says. "We are already just waiting on you two," my father says. "Then, let’s roll. If you want, the twins can ride with you guys, and mom, you can ride with us," I tell my mother. We all get into our cars and head to the field where the ceremony is being held. It is a beautiful setting. It has pink and blue streamers and also pink and blue flowers. I have tears in my eyes, seeing how wonderful this all looks. "Mom, you all did wonderful with setting this up," I tell my mother. "Don't thank me just yet, my dear. Wait until after the ceremony," my mother says. Todd's POV I love seeing the look of awe on my wife's face. She thinks this was all her mom's doing, but wait until she finds out who set this all up. "Come on, Samantha, my love, let’s get this ceremony started! I know the whole pack is dying to find out the names of the future alphas," I say, laughing and walking up to the platform with my family. My parents and Samantha's parents are already are up on the stage, holding the twins' hands. I get up to the front of the platform and clear my throat. "As you all know, we are here today for the naming ceremony of the future alphas of this pack. My wife and I are going to go away from tradition. As some of you know, the twins are already walking and talking, so we decided to let them introduce themselves with their given names that my wife and I gave them." "We are not traditional in the White Moon pack, so Blue Moon pack members, please understand this is how my father did it. This is also how it will be done from now on," Samantha states, coming up to me. "Mom, if you would kindly bring up my daughter so that she can introduce herself to the pack," I say to my mother. "Yes, son," my mom says, holding onto my daughter's hand and walking forward. "Okay, princess, please announce who you are and what your place is in the packs," I instruct her. She smiles brightly. "My name is Athena Angelica Selene Celeste Black, and I am a future alpha of the White-Blue Moon pack," my princess says, surprising the whole pack. "Now, Dad, please bring up your grandson so he can introduce himself to the pack," I instruct my father. He walks up, holding my son's hand. "Are you ready to introduce yourself, son?" I ask my son. "Yes, father," he says. "Okay, son, you have the stage." "My name is Thor Ricardo Vincento Samuel Bruce Black, and I will be the future alpha of the White-Blue Moon pack, alongside my sister Athena Angelica Selene Celeste Black." "Now that the twins have introduced themselves, let the party begin!" Samantha's POV "One more thing before we start the party!” I say, earning a surprised look from Todd. “Yes, the twins have introduced themselves, but the three of us have a surprise for my family and the packs. Would you two like to make the announcement together?" I ask my babies. "Yes, mama, can we please?" Thor and Athena say together. "Go for it, you two.” "Well, you know our names, but we have a surprise for you all," Thor says. "As you know, we are still pups, but this is a big surprise!" Athena says, smiling. "We are going to be big siblings!" The twins say together. "Thank you, my babies." The pack looks shocked, and so do my parents. Todd actually faints. "Kids go wake daddy up. I think he fainted," I tell them, laughing. Our parents walk up to me with huge smiles on their faces, and they each hug me. "Congrats, Samantha," Alpha Bruce says. "Thank you, guys. Um, Alpha Bruce, I think your son just fainted at the news," I say, laughing. "I guess he wasn't expecting this kind of news," Alpha Bruce laughs also. "DADDY, WAKE UP!" The twins scream while jumping on Todd, making me laugh even harder. "Ugh, what happened?" Todd asks, sitting up and hugging the twins. "Daddy, you went to sleep," Thor says, giggling. "Samantha, did I hear the twins correctly, or was that a dream?" Todd asks. "What did you think you heard, love?" I ask Todd. "The twins say they are going to be big siblings. Is this true?" Todd asks, confused. "Yes, Todd. It is true, they are going to be big siblings," I tell him, shaking my head while laughing. "But we just had the twins not that long ago! Are you sure?" He asks. "Yes, Todd. I am sure that I am pregnant again," I tell him.
