The Majarlican Demigod Chapter 6: The Treaty    “When did you learn that, Ally? You catch the fireball and double-up its power, then throw it on the channel. You've never done that before.” Talia asked as we head back to our homeroom. “I don't know,” I honestly don’t, “That's the only thing I had in mind at that moment, so that's what I did. It's also surprising for me.” Hans cackled, “I feel like you have a lot more to discover from your ability.” “And you must learn fast,” said Brighton who is walking alongside with us, “No one can tell how many more time we have left. Chaos are everywhere and we have to be ready.” Hans tapped him in the back, “Chill, Brye, we're only in high school.”     The bright student probably has a point, we must be prepared as early as now. We almost reached the class room when Hamilton stopped right in front of us.   "Are you the one who controlled me to levitate myself earlier?" Hamilton asked Brighton. "Yes. Yes, I am." Brighton responded confidently.   Hamilton was about to punch Brighton straight in the face, but right then, his body froze. He was trying to move, but he could only roll his eyes... His face is turning red.   "Listen to me Lord Hamilton Jéan Les Voir, you should never in any instance or place, tyrannize or seek to harm people who might be weaker than you; on your level; especially those who are a lot stronger and powerful than you just because they don't intimidate you." Brighton loudly said. "You shall not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you. If you do, I will make sure that you be detained until you learn your lesson. Also, if you ever dare to harm me again, I will gladly stop your motion for the rest of your life." "I hope he heard everything you said, cous," Hans told Brighton. "He did, cousin. And it's never going to be out of his head." Brighton laughed. "Great! Serves you, right man." Hans tapped on Hamilton's shoulder and signaled to us to go ahead.   Brighton snapped his finger, and the thug guy was able to move again. He was being comforted by Evan and Zera. The bell rings as the clock turns eight-thirty in the morning. It's time for Saphrias’s class. She was there already writing on the board.   "Good morning Maestra Saphrias!" Hamilton greeted. He suddenly changed. Saphrias stopped writing and faced the class, "Good morning. Please be seated according to what was given by Maestra Kornalina," then she continued writing.   As usual, the class is silent whenever she's around. No one dared to buzz about. Phria finished writing on the half of the board and faced us once again.   "Please copy what I have written on the board. We are going to have a discussion."   She was watching us copying what was there on the board. The mind skilled who can control objects gets to finish first, but those not gifted have to do it manually. Ten minutes have passed, and I'm only halfway to finish copying.   "Alright." Phria tapped on the table, "You can copy and listen to me at the same time. Now, we will tackle The Treaty of Majarlican and deities. Brighton, please stand up and share to the class what you know about this treaty?"   The pop oral quiz has begun.   Brighton stood up, "The treaty of Majarlican and deities is the treaty or agreement that the Majarlican Government made fifty-five years ago stating that no deity, minor or major shall be in the grounds of Kingdom Majarlika. If any deity is found in Majarlika, they shall be sent over to Olympus Mons regardless if they might be a half-blood Majarlika or mutant human being." "Thank you, please be seated," Saphrias said, "Now, based on what was written on the board, what is the reason for this treaty Hamilton?" Hamilton stood up, scratching the back of his head, "The reason for this treaty was," he was squinting his eyes towards the board, "Artes, the demigod son of Ares who is the god of war, tried to conquer Kingdom Majarlika by possessing a Majarlican who was currently in a position," he sat down after reading. "Ok. My next question to you guys is, what are the advantages of having this treaty? You can give an answer or two." Saphria said. Hasmin: We are free from the threat of a person more powerful than us. Randall: We are getting protection from the deities. Winslett: Guarantee that will be safe from an immortal. Saphrias: Very good. I want to hear from others. What are the disadvantages of this treaty?   There's silence echoing. I looked around me.   Saphrias: Althea, can you give one disadvantage of this treaty?   Should I answer truthfully? That a demigod like me who only knew this place will be deported? I see that Saphria is trying to read me, knowing that she can walk through someone's mind. I stand up, "One of the disadvantages that this treaty caused us was..." I'm trying to catch a word that floats in the air. "The deities are being generalized for being bad." holy grail... This isn't good. Saphrias brows met in the middle, "Can you elaborate that?" she asked. I swallowed the accumulated saliva in my mouth, "Artes gave the Majarlican a bad impression of a minor deity for taking advantage of the Majarlican weakness. Therefore, after the treaty, we are holding against it the deities rather than just feeling that we must protect our world from them." I was stuttering a bit, but I hope I made my point. "Interesting point, please sit down. What else?" Saphrias eyed the class. Imman stood up, "The main disadvantage was the family of the person Artes used was completely damaged and was prohibited from using their last name. They were put to shame instead of being protected."   The class turned their heads to him as his tone was ascending.   Saphria frowned at him then tried to shave it off by clearing her throat. "I am not expecting you to go that far, Mister...?"   "Young Master Imman Holster, Maestra Saphrias," he answered with firmness in his tone. "Alright, Imman. Thank you for sharing your thought. Anyone else?" Saphrias asked. Prince Rupert raised his hand and stood up, "I would like to say that one of the disadvantages of the treaty is that ever since it was made, Majarlicans has been more aggressive in chasing out the remaining demigods for the past fifty-five years when the main problem was not exactly the minor deities who have their own body but the formless one. I would like to amend Lady Althea's statement that we had been unconsciously discriminative to other beings."   Ahh, I'm touched if no one would ever ask about his 'Amendment.'   "Ok, given that your majesty can somehow revise that treaty or maybe add an amendment to that, what will it be?" Saphrias asked. "I would lift the ban of having those minor deities and also let those who were forcedly separated from their Majarlican family and just really focus on not letting a criminal be out of the jail just like the regular rule, and if a Majarlican can afford, they can freely visit Olympus. Then, if the court would agree with me, I will let the real Hyattes use that name again since only one of them really wronged the Majarlicans." Prince calmly answered. I know that Celestials doesn't really have emotions, but I like how he thinks about others.   Phrias raised a brow in contrary, and I don't agree with her 'stick to the status quo' mantra.   "That's nice, your majesty. Very sincere and thoughtful of others." Phrias stammered. "So now that we have the overview of this treaty, we will now discuss it further. Everyone should be done copying by now because I want you all eyes on me."   Phrias walks through the mind of the others, but she cannot walk through my mind, but I will try pretending she's gotten inside.   "Kingdom Majarlika was evaded by a formless demigod Artes he used an accomplice who is named Hyattes. Both of them were then sentenced to imprisonment and death. The son of Ares, god of war, tried to conquer Kingdom Majarlika by dragging along some of his alliances with the goddess of the fatal disease to kill the population, then a demigod who suck-up all liquid form so that all crops will be of no use, animals and us. Could die in extreme drought. When Kingdom Majarlika was almost half in population, the Great King Gustavo Luxembourg sacrificed his life and went to Mount of the Goblin to ask for help from deities. After that, Ares, the god of war, and Hades, the god of the underworld, captivate Artes, and they said to sentence him to the underworld. Treaty was created between the Olympus governance, which is Zeus, their main leader, and King George Harrison VII — our reigning king that we will no longer accept an Olympian except if there's a court order," she continued, "As for the man that Artes used, it is the body of the man named Rinaldus Hyattes. Based on the investigation of the higher court, Hyattes— upon the captivity of Artes, was found lifeless, which added to the punishment of the suspect. In the report of Olympus Mons Justice, Hades, the god of the underworld, reported that he found the soul of Hyattes in the place where Artes lives with few more victims. Allegedly, Artes is offered power and wealth to those who will sell their soul to him. Hyattes is actually part of the higher council back in his time and runs for being the head jury; however, majority and minority of council voted for Enrico El Mundo who is now our Central Minister."   "Where's the Hyattes now, Maestra?" Imman asked. "Then, what happened to Hyattes family?" The guy seated next to me asked in a deep tone. "The report says that they have to trace down all of them and change their names legally to protect them from discrimination," Phria answered.   I looked at this intriguing Imman. He seemed to have this particular look in the eye that somehow made me feel like he wanted to outsmart our teacher... Maybe I'm just being too judgmental.   "Moral of this history is for us to not easily take an offer without further thinking about it, or you will regret it for the rest of your life. Also, I would like you guys to know that if you heard or knew anyone to be a demigod, please report to us immediately to send them back. If you don't, that might cause us to get in trouble with the deities. Are we clear?" Phrias asked.   Class answered, "Clear, Maestra."   "Perfect! Later, after the class, everyone should attend the soft-launching of The New Generation Youngsters Club or what we will call TNGYC. Youngster Chief Chalcedony will be there. If anyone misses it, you will not get any bonus marks from me." Saphria started erasing her writings on the board. "Tomorrow, please prepare for the debate about the advantage and disadvantages of the treaty. Group 1 and 2 for the advantage, then group 3 and 4 for the disadvantage. The debate will be for 30 minutes only, so I want you all to be good with ok?" she finished erasing and picked up her things. "Thank you, Maestra!" we said. "Alright. See you guys later." then Phrias went out.     (To Be Continued)
