The Majarlican Demigod Chapter 2: Welcome to the dormitory!     It's still too early to go to the cafeteria for our dinner, so I decided to just go outside my room to daze and sat by the window. Amethyst, my cousin, told me that stunning far relaxes your eyes and helps improving eyesight. I daze at the farthest my eyes could see, then the twilight breeze touches my skin makes me want to go to bed early. That's my favorite part. From here, I could see the boys in our class across the building. Their dorm is on the east wing.   I saw Hans waving at me, and when I waved back;   I almost jumped out in surprise, "Hey!" He was right beside me. "Don't do that again," I said, panting. "I'm sorry." he chuckled, "Do you really like being alone?" "Not really. Well, sometimes. It depends on my mood. I'm kinda waiting for dinner, so I decided to get some fresh air first." I replied. "That's actually a good idea. Tomorrow will be the official day of classes, and we will barely have a break onwards." he said, "Maestra Saphrias already gave us homework. And it's on the first day of class! If I am a Rule Maker, I will forbid giving homework on the first day of school. I mean, aren't we stay-in students?" "Well, no one is forcing you to do your homework. Only that you will hardly pass the law subject with Phrias. I mean, Maestra Saphrias." "I know," he said, "I've been studying here since kindergarten, just so you know, and all of those things they say about that demigod son of Ares were exactly the same every time."   I involuntarily cleared my throat at the mention of the demigod.   "Really?" I then asked. "Why? Have you not heard anything about that formless demigod?" he asked.   It sounded so frightening. I know for sure what a demigod is but not scary as the son of Ares.   "We still have an hour and a half. Why don't you show me around the place?" I said. Trying to divert the conversation into other things. He responded hesitantly, "sure," I assume he's thinking something else about the invitation. "Ally!" Talia caught my attention. I turned around to face her. I said, "Oh, you're done!" Perfect timing, "um, Hans, that is Talia— my best friend. And Talia, this is Hans— he's on the same class, and he also used to be our neighbor."   Talia stood beside me and smiled at Hans.   Hans reached out to her hand but, "OUCH!" he screamed. Talia said, "I'm so sorry!" she immediately put on her protective gloves, "I'm very sorry. I forgot to put my gloves on." Hans is trying to shake off his hand to cool down the burned area, "That's fine. Just don't do that again." "Is there any infirmary station we can take you to?" Talia asked. “There's no need for that. I'm fine." Hans insists, though he really doesn't seem to be okay. "Are you sure?" I asked. "I'm sure," he replied. "Why don't we go ahead?" "Where are you guys going?" Talia asked. "Just around the area. Would you like to come?" Hans asked her.   Talia looked at me like she was asking if we should go.   "C'mon, Talia!" I said, "let's go! I know you are excited to see this place." "Okay!" she replied. "So Talia, you will also be in Maestra Kornalina's class, right?" Hans asked as we walked down the stairs. "Yes," she replied. "That means that you will complete the four Elements," Hans stated. "You will meet the other Elemental Commanders tomorrow in class." "Well, I'm a mutant." Talia said in a matter of fact, "Does that makes any difference?" she asked. "Not at all. Mutants and Supernatural Innates are equal here. No discrimination." Hans assured. "Actually, my mother is a mutant too, and she lived here normally like the others. In fact, she's one of the assistant lawmakers in the Central Minister's Court." "Wow, that's huge!" Talia complimented. "Well, my dream is to work as a tax collecting officer, but I think that lawmaking for Centralis will be high paying too." "I can't disagree with that," Hans said.   We reached the bench park-- it's the first thing you'll see when you go downstairs. It's like a patio but a much larger one.   "So, this is what we call bench park." Hans gestured with his hands in the air like welcoming us, "As you can see, there were few benches under these big oak trees where you can sit. Also, each of these oak trees has fairy lights on it that would brighten up the night aside from the light posts." he points up to the oak tree.   We continue walking on the fresh grass.   "I would like to say that this grassy part is good to sit on for an afternoon picnic." Hans continued. "And just in case you don't have any food with you, you can buy some from the student-repreneurs who sell a variety of snacks that you won't have from the cafeteria." "Oh, isn't that Zera?" I asked. "Yes. Zera's one of the student s***h entrepreneurs who is also a member of the Dance Club. If you're interested in joining, you can tap her." He said.   We walked across the bench park.   "That is the reading corner, guys." he said, "I haven't explored it yet because I'm not into books." I can see from here that there were few books to read.   "We also have our infirmary station here for emergency cases. It's open 24/7 if you need painkillers, fever-aid medicine– they have it here. Just ask the Pharmacist or Nurse aid inside." he points at the brown door. "And then the East Wing Dorm— that's for the male students, and the West Wing is for the female students. Each has four floors with approximately thirty rooms on it." He finished. "Nice place!" Talia said. "Not that big, but has enough space for everyone." "You're right. I wish I could show you around the whole place, but we're not allowed to go inside the school campus once classes are over." He stated. "Premiera de Academia Centralis is the biggest Academy in the entire Kingdom Majarlika. It has all the facility and equipment we need to improve these special skills." "That's fine. There will be some other time for it." I said. "Maybe you guys would like to see the picnic grove?" Hans asked. "That's in front of the campus. We can watch the dodgeball players on their practice." "I love watching games!" Talia said excitedly, "Where is it?"   Hans walked us to the picnic grove, which is 100 meters away from here. More grass, more fun. There's a bleacher to watch the players. The dodgeball game is easy when people will not use their unique skills, but that's not the case here. Your main goal is to eliminate the opponent from the game. Two teams with 7 players each, anyone can touch the ball, but the ball shouldn't touch you or hit you– if it does, you're out. Players should hit other players to win. What makes this exciting is that players can use their powers to win though some restrictions apply.   The game has begun. Instead of sitting on the bleachers, we sat on the grass nearby the pitch.   Wow!" Talia is so amazed and focused on the game. "I've never seen a dodgeball game like this. Like they literally fly and put the ball on fire!" she said. "The ball nullifies any attack you put on it so, that means that any fire or wind you're trying to put on it will only be a special effect on the ball like the tail fire you see on it," Hans explained.    One team wears white, and the other wears blue— the Centralis' color. Each still has 5 players; the other 2 were reserved players in case of injury or foul. We were watching, Hans approached the White team members. They were talking like they were that close. One of them looks very similar to Brighton Luke, I don't know where they differ in appearance, but they're like twins. I didn't realize that I was watching them talk until...   I felt Talia pushed me forcefully on the side, that my face quickly fell to the ground... Like what the?!   “Althea, are you alright?" Hans helped me sit straight again. A guy runs to us- This skinny thug again, "I'm sorry bro..." he said, talking to Hans, "Hey, I'm sorry," he then said to me. "How was that out of the pitch, men?" Hans asked, defending me. Or so, I guess. "That wasn't on purpose, dude. I'm very sorry, Lady of West," the skinny guy repeated himself. "Captain Hamilton, is everything alright?" The dodgeball coach came to us. “I'm fine. Thanks to Talia." I said while glaring down the arrogant 'captain.' "Fine?" Talia exclaimed. "The ball was blazing! She might have died!"   Talia easily panics over things. The ball has absorbed the fire, and it's only a visual kind of effect like we told her.   "Look, that wasn't on purpose Miss... Whoever you are. And besides, that would not happen if you watch from the bleachers," this skinny captain has that gut when he's at fault. "Is that how you apologize, huh?" I asked. "Well, I tell you what, I don't need it." "Hamilton." The coach looked at him, like giving him the signal to stop talking. "Are you sure that you're okay, Lady Althea?" he asked me. "I'm fine, Maestro," I replied. "That's good to hear. Don't worry. I will have my team captain disciplined for this. Accidents are unavoidable, so again, I hope you guys will read precautions too..." He points his finger to the 'For players only' signboard on the entry, "And moving forward, I will try to make a better pitch shield." The coach stated. "Thanks, Coach Florence," Hans said. "And you, Hans, I hope you will join the team again." He said to Hans.   Then they all followed their coach to the pitch.   “That bastard guy!" Talia whispered with squinting eyes. "Such a dummy. Tsk..." "Stop that Talia, I'm okay. You need to calm down now." I told her. "Watching the game isn't really the best idea," Hans said. "Let's go to the cafeteria?"   On our way, I noticed that Kori and Phrias were heading out from the campus with other people.   "Is that the Council?" I asked Hans. "Huh?" He looked at the gate, "Where?" he asked, trying to look for it. "They are going to left towards a vehicle," I said. "You do not see the council?" "Are you sure your head isn't hurt?" Talia asked in confusion. Hans looked at me, "Althea, there's no one there." he pointed in their direction, but he seemed not to notice. They don't see it, so it's senseless. "Maybe my head was hurt," I said. "Or maybe I'm hungry." Talia looked at her watch, "Yeah. Still, fifteen minutes before dinner, but I guess we can go there already." “Let's go." Hans started walking, and so we followed.   Clueless on why they don't see the council, but I'm sure that what I witnessed was not out of my imagination. Where are my cousins and the others heading to? That's my question. Maybe it has something to do with Youngsters Chief position or perhaps something else. Now I'm dead curious.   (To Be Continued)
