Audrey's Pov: I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock blaring so loud it could burst my eardrums. ...Uuuugh..." Would someone turn that thing off. I grumbled, feeling frustrated as the loud noise threatened to burst my ears. I threw my pillow over my face hoping to muffle out the annoying alarm clock, but to no avail. "Time to wake up, Sunshine." My mum said, already drawing the curtains. "oh come on." She said already walking towards me. "Today is supposed to be your big day remember, we are going to visit your college today." She said, still trying to get me out of bed. "UUUGH, I don't want to get out of bed, why don't we just go see it tomorrow?" I grumbled sleepily, trying to find a way that does not involve me getting out of bed. "Nice try, but not going to happen. We have to leave in two days and wasting a whole day in bed is definitely not a good way to spend those two days. Now get your lazy ass out of bed and go take a shower. Dinner would be up in an hour, which means you have one hour to get ready." She finished, while removing my pillow off my face and throwing my blanket off my body, and then walking away. I sighed, watching her walk away. Sometimes I feel she is like a dictator. No wonder dad seems so scared of her. Now I see why, she can be really scary when she wants to be. Sighing again, I drag myself to the bathroom, wanting to take a quick shower. I decide against using the bathtub so I won't take too long. I turn on the faucet and dipped my hand under checking the temperature, lukewarm. Craving for more. I quickly get undressed and enter the shower letting the warm water flow down my skin, instantly waking me completely. After staying in the shower for about thirty minutes, I remember I have less than an hour to get dressed and meet mum for breakfast. Sighing for the hundredth time today, I reluctantly get out the shower and quickly got dressed. Throwing on some black yoga pants, a sleeveless baby blue crop top, a white hoodie and white snickers to match. I quickly do a light makeup and jog out to meet my mom in the lobby. "Finally, I thought I was going to come drag you out by myself. What took you so long anyway." She asked, not looking up from the menu. I looked at her briefly before answering, "Huh, I didn't take that long. I came down in an hour, just like you told me to." I said, raising my eyes to stare at her through my lashes. "Whatever." She said, waving her hand in a dismissive manner and looking at me with so much excitement. "So aren't you excited. We are going over to your new college today, how are you feeling?" She asked bringing her hand to my mouth and positioning it like a microphone. I rolled my eyes at her with a little chuckle. She was so extra sometimes. Pushing her hand away from my mouth. "You do know we are in public right?" I asked her with a small smile on my face. "And? can't I interview my own daughter just because we are in public?" she asks with a little pout . I just stared at her, not believing this was the same woman that forced me out of bed this morning, now acting all innocent. What a trickster. After much grumbling and complaining from both me and mom about how they don't have our favorites, we finally decided to order hamburgers and fries. The minute the waiter put our food in front of us. My stomach growled, so hard I thought everyone must have heard It. It also didn't help that my mom wouldn't stop laughing so hard. Ignoring her, I delve into my hamburger taking a bite, and God it tastes so good. I closed my eyes and savoured the holy taste that just entered my mouth, when I opened my eyes I saw my mum eating her hamburger and she seemed to be enjoying it. After we were done eating, we decided to go exploring the New york university. Damn, this place was so worth the travel Its so big and beautiful, I didn't even feel like leaving anymore. I wish I could just move in right now. "Holy lovey, are you seeing this too, this place is so beautiful. Now i understand why you so badly want to come here." Mum said, while taking pictures of almost every and anything she could find. She looked way more enthusiastic than me. I just smiled looking at her, she looked so excited like a child who was just given candy. This is one of the reason i loved her so much, she always had a way of making everything so positive and less scary. We kept exploring and taking pictures of literally everything we could find. When we got to the art gallery I felt a dire need to go in and check it out. So I did. "Hey mom, am going to go check out the art gallery real quick okay." I told her, already going towards it. "Okay just call me up when you done, so I could text you my location." she said turning around to take more pictures. I nodded and headed into the gallery. To say this place is magnificent didn't seem like the right word, cause damn! it looked like it was straight out of a movie it was so beautiful. I went over to the paintings and just kept looking through every single one of them and I couldn't believe my eyes there were all so fascinating. Since I was a kid I have always been a sucker for art but this, its marvelous. As I kept looking through all the paintings and sculptures.A particular box caught my attention. It looked like it belongs in a museum not an art gallery. I went over picking up the box, it was not even properly kept just placed carelessly. I wondered who would have left it here.I decided to see what was inside but before I could pry it open my phone rang startling me a bit. I took my phone from my pocket and checked who was calling. It was Mom. "Wats up." I said into the phone."I was about to head back to the hotel, and I wanted us to go together. Are you done at the gallery so I could come pick you up." She said through the phone. I thought about it. I was kinda starving, so I decided it was time to go back anyway. "Sure am done, I would be waiting outside the gallery." I said before ending the call. I turned to leave, but it felt like the box just kept drawing me back. Like it wanted me to take it with me. After contemplating between my morals and the pull I felt, I decided the pull was more stronger. I grabbed the box quickly and practically ran out of the art gallery. Hoping no one saw me. After waiting for awhile, I saw mum stopping in a cab close to the art gallery. I waved at her quickly and started walking towards her, when someone bumped into my shoulder almost tripping me. I quickly regained my posture but before I could confront him he just walked away. I didn't even get to see his face because of the black hoodie he wore. What a d**k.
