WHAT IS WORST THAN THIS?
LILA'S POV.
"Please... Please don't do this to me. This is wickedness in its highest order!"
My voice cracked as I stumbled backward, my feet scraping against the cold stone floor. My mother wouldn't even look at me. Her hands trembled, but not enough to reach for me.
She wanted to save me, but couldn't. What I was going into was not what I needed for a promising young girl like me.
"You don't have a choice, Lila." my father said, his voice flat and final. "This is for the family."
"For the family?" I let out a broken laugh, shaking my head. "You're actually selling me for the family!"
There was a brief silence. That silence said everything.
My heart kept skipping till I got to the door. From inside, I could hear the low growls and the heavy footsteps outside. The more I hear them, the more I get afraid. At this point, my heart left its position and jumped inside my stomach.
The Lycans?
"No...." I whispered, my body trembling. "No, I can do this. I won't..."
But at the same time, I can't escape because strong hands grabbed my arms, and it hurts.
"Let me go! Let me go!" I thrashed violently, kicking and clawing, but it was useless. My father's guards held me firmly, dragging me towards the door like I was nothing but an animal.
All my pleas were in vain.
Then the doors opened.
Immediately, cold air rushed in, carrying with it a scent so powerful and overwhelming that it made my knees weak.
My breathing hitched as my eyes landed on them, towering figures cloaked in black, their presence very suffocating. And at the center of them all stood the mighty Lycan King.
Kelvin Lykos.
His mere looks overwhelmed me. I don't know what would happen to me when I start living with him.
Those eyes locked onto mine and my world stopped.
Immediately, a burning sensation exploded in my chest. My bones were as though they were breaking. I could no longer feel my legs. Everything was happening to me at the same time.
Suddenly, my wolf started screaming in my head.
No....no, this can't be.
Mate! Mate!
I tried to shut her up, but she persisted. At this point, tears were streaming down my face like water.
My mate.
The Lycan King..was my mate.
But this was supposed to be fate, wasn't it? Something sacred. Something beautiful.
But all I felt was terror.
The look in his eyes wasn't recognition, not longing. It wasn't love. It was cold and empty.
"Is this her?" his deep voice echoed smoothly yet deadly, sending chills down my spine.
"Yes, Your Majesty," my father said quickly stepping forward with a slight bow. "She's healthy, untouched, and very.... suitable."
Suitable?
Kelvin's gaze slowly dragged over me, assessing, calculating, and detached.
I felt like something to be used, discarded.
I kept wondering if he felt the same way I felt.
Didn't he feel me?
The bond?
The connection?
"Hmmm," he murmured, unimpressed.
And then, without a single ounce of emotion, he said the words that destroyed me completely.
"She'll do."
The most painful part is that I don't know what my father had discussed with Kelvin about what he wants to use me for. No pre-information. I was totally left in the dark.
********
I could not remember how I got into the carriage. All I remembered was the emptiness. The hollow ache in my chest
My mate, my fated one, didn't want me.
The Lycan Kingdom was nothing like I imagined. It was totally oppressive. I swallowed hard as I was led inside.
This wasn't a home, it was a cage.
I wondered how much the Lycan King must have given my father to make him accept this.
"Move."
The guard shoved me forward, and I stumbled, barely catching myself before falling.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked, my voice small, fragile.
He ignored me and kept dragging me till we got to the door.
The door opened by itself and and a young woman walked towards me as I was still standing at the door. I thought it should be Aurora, Kelvin's Luna. She was so beautiful, but the look on her face showed different things at the same time. I was still contemplating what was going through her mind that made her face that way when she interrupted me.
“Is she the thing?” She turned to the guard, mockingly.
“Yes, your Majesty.” He bowed.
“Miss Surrogate, so you know that you're here to serve the king and me. And don't waste time giving birth so that you can hand over to me.”
It was at this point that everything became as clear as a crystal. I could not hold myself as I sobbed uncontrollably.
“So, I was actually brought here to get pregnant, give birth to the heir of Kelvin, and hand over to Aurora?” The thought of it sent shivers down my spine.
If I knew I would have escaped.
A whole lot was going through my mind.
The pain in my heart was so much that I could not endure any longer but let out a loud shout.
“No! No! Never!”
Aurora turned and her palms landed on my face.
That slap almost got me blind.
“Take this thing away, now!” She ordered
The guard dragged me till we got to a secluded area. There was a room that looked abandoned.
“That is your room.” The guard pointed towards it, then turned and left.
I got in and everywhere was looking so messed up. I quickly tidied up the place as mum had trained me very well in that area.
It was already a few minutes past nine. I was about to go to bed when my door creaked open.
What I saw sent me jumping to my feet.
Kelvin.
His aura filled my room. I was literally trembling at his sight.
Immediately, my wolf started whimpering in my head but this time I ignored her.
“Hope you know why you're here?” Kelvin growled.
My head was bowed as I didn't know what to respond to him.
“Quickly lie on the bed.” He ordered.
I obeyed his instructions before he would change his mind and do something crazy.
He pulled my panties by himself, removed his regalia, and lay on me.
As he was about to penetrate, he couldn't penetrate easily.
He stood up and looked at me.
“Your first time?”
I nodded.
He shook his head and went in gradually. I could feel my legs and v****a in pain.
What I saw next was blood.
Blood was everywhere on my body and the bedsheet.
Immediately, the blood came, and Kelvin shouted, “Blood!!”
He ran outside.
