Ben checked the container of eggs in the cooler. “We need more eggs; I’ll be right back.” “I’ll start on these café mochas,” she glanced at the written order beside Ben. Her jade-spoked eyes fluttered when he returned, “I’m glad I got to work with you today.” “I can’t thank you enough. It’s been crazy this morning,” he smiled. “Maybe we can do this again sometime. You know,” he took a quick breath, “I prefer to work the front, but I don’t have that option right now since Chloe’s not here.” The customers lagged and the front of the shop got quiet.
