Chapter 2

As lunch approached the whole school was buzzing about the ranks coming home soon, most of the girls were super excited, but the guys seemed to be annoyed since the ranks are coming back and have the females attention now. They have been gone for three years, at an all male training camp for future leaders. Rumors say that it is nonstop schooling and different kinds of training to prepare them to lead, defend and protect their packs, but nobody knows for sure.

I go to sit at the normal table to see that Jared is there waiting for me looking a little uneasy. We are extremely close, more then most twins actually, so I know something is bothering him.

“What’s going on Jared”?

“Well, you have heard the guys are coming back”, I shake my head as he continues, “They will be back at the end of the week, they want to meet with me, talk about you being in the Elite program with me”.

“What about it, I work my ass off to be there so I can protect myself and our pack if and when it is needed. Karina needs the challenge it offers to help keep her calm.”

“I get that, and I have no clue what it’s about, who knows, maybe one of them wants you as a mate. Speaking of, have you found him yet? Oh there’s going to be no training on Saturday, they had Alpha cancel and are planning a Welcome Home Party or event for everyone. Besides all that Karina is a badass when she has to be, I have no worries about her abilities to protect or defend, you both could use a break from training”.

“Why would they cancel Saturday training? What about you finding your mate?And there’s no way any of them would want me as a mate, I was always the annoying sister chasing you guys around if given the chance”, We both smirk at each other and end the conversation just as the twins sat down with their lunch.

Kels looks at us “It is so weird how your conversations are so fluent and easy, you know what the other is going to say and think and quite literally just know what the other is feeling or thinking, I always thought twins are supposed be like that, but” as she looks at Kyle, “ it’s not that way at all” as she gives the disappointed mom look toward him.

“Hey, I have no desire to know anything in your head, you girls are just way to complicated for me to try and figure out” Kyle says as he shakes him head and takes a bite of his burger, Kels and I just laugh and shake our heads.

“No, I haven’t found her yet, I can wait for her, she may not even be 18 yet. It comes naturally for us, ever since we were little I have always had a heightened sense toward her feelings and keeping her safe, never really thought about why though, I just thought it was a twin thing”. Jared tells Kels while shrugging.

“He and Jace knows we need to be protected until we find our mate, once that happens the sense will start to fade, and his mate will be found”.

“What do you mean by that”?

“When we find our mate we will start to become stronger, it will take time, but eventually, we will stronger then most Alpha’s. We are meant to be stronger then anyone else, the Goddess wishes it, but that’s all I know. She’s told me in a dream, and will tell me more when its time to know”. Karina tells me as I look at Jared.

“We will talk tonight at home about it”, Giveing Jared a don’t ask look as I turn to Kels, “Since there is a Welcome Home Event on Saturday, what do you think we should wear? What is the Dress code for this event”? Looking at Jared with raised eyebrows.

“It’s Casual, they want everyone to comfortable”.

“OMG, Lyns do I get to do your hair and makeup for this? I Promise to keep it natural as possible” Kels says super excited.

“Yeah, I guess you can” I tell her while rolling my eyes. “Who knows maybe i will even wear a dress. I have a feeling I won’t find my mate here at school”.

“How do you know that, the day isn’t over, there’s still time”. Kyle asks me as I see Cord (his wolf) coming forward to know the answer as well.

The bell stats ringing to signal that our lunch is over and we head to class. As the end of school approaches I start getting an odd feeling in my gut, Karina is starting to become unsettled, ”Karina what’s wrong?’

“I’m not sure exactly, I sense that something is going to happen soon.”

“Same here, do you think it’s possible we are going to find our mate soon?’

“Possible, but this feels more like I need to be on alert for something else.”

“Ok, I trust you and I feel the same, I don’t quit understand it though.” I tell her knowing that this may not be a good thing if we are both unsettled. I decide to link Jared.

“Are you and Jace getting an unsettling feeling at all? Karina and I feel like we need to be on alert, but not sure why we feel this way”.

“I’m not, but Jace is always on alert when it comes to you, so that’s not new. What do you mean she is unsettled and alert, that means something, she’s usually calm, I’m heading your way now.” Jared tells me and cuts the link. We both know if Karina is on alert, it could be dangerous.

The end of day bell rang and i bolted to my locker and straight to the car with Jared following. Since we go straight to Elite training every day, Jessie and Carrie have another way home. I just give Jared a look and get into the car.

“It’s getting worse, she’s pacing and every so often gives a growl, this can’t be good, Should we go to training, she could seriously hurt someone”.

“I linked alpha, he will be there today to watch you. He thinks it may be possible that you could find your mate, but he will be there just to make sure.”

“Okay, I hope it is that and nothing else”, deep down I had a feeling it may not be for that reason. I just hope that it’s not as bad as we took off to the training grounds.
