Chapter 4 - John... again

POV Ryan

When Ruby told me why she was kinda distant, I got angry and protective of her, and I could see that the boys were the same. Suddenly someone knocked at the door, and Ruby went over and opened the door. I turned to the boys “What the hell” I said to them, “I don’t know what to do, because what I want to do is keep her inside of the house and have one of you or me be with all the time. But I know she wouldn’t like that” I said in an angry tone. “Yeah, maybe we should just make sure that she is okay first, and then we can figure out what we should do” Mark said, “Yeah that sounds like an idea” Liam said. We all agreed on that, and then we turned on the TV and waited for her to come back.

After about 10 minutes, I was beginning to get a little worried about Ruby since she hadn’t come back. I went out to see what was happening, and I saw a guy having Ruby pinned up against a wall, and she looked very uncomfortable and scared. That really made my blood boil and went over and pulled him off her. She slid down the wall, the boys came quickly out. James and Liam went over to Ruby, and Noah and Mark came over to me. “What happened?” Noah asked, “He had her pushed up against a wall, and she looked really uncomfortable and scared” I hissed out. James came over to us, “Ruby is okay, just scared” he said. We all turned to the guy, “Who are you?” I asked in a firm voice. “No one” he said, that just pissed me off more, but before he could punch him, I felt Ruby’s hand on my arm, “No, don’t do it” she said. “Why shouldn’t I?” I questioned, “That doesn’t help anybody” she answered, and then she ran inside. “Don’t come anywhere near her, or you’ll regret it” I hissed at him, while he smirked at me. I got up and went inside, I saw Liam standing at Ruby’s door. I went up to her door, “She won’t come out, but I can hear her crying” Liam said to me, I knocked gently on the door “g…go… awa…away!” she said. I tried to open it, but as suspected it was locked, but then I realized that I had an extra key to her room in my room. I quickly went to my room got the key, went back to her door and opened it. When I saw her laying in her bed, crying her heart out, it kinda broke because she never cried and was so strong. I put my hand on her arm, when she turned around, I could see her red puffy eyes, and that made me want to kill that bastard, she quickly put her head down in the pillow. The boys also came into the room, they looked quite angry and worried at the same time. I pulled Ruby into a hug, and she put her head on my chest, and kept crying. When she had calmed down, she pulled away, “Are you okay?” I asked her and she nodded. “Yeah, and what happened” asked James. Then she took 3 deep breaths, “C…can we ta…talk about it tomor…row?” she asked, and we all nodded and went out of her room.

“What the f**k happened” Noah asked as soon as we came down in the living room. “I really don’t know, but all I know is he is a bad guy, and we’ve to protect her” I answered. “Yeah I agree” James said, and all the guys nodded in agreement. “But how are we gonna do that?” Mark asked, “Yeah, that’s actually a really good question” Liam said. “We’ve to be by her side, but she doesn’t like us following her, or any other person she likes to be free” I answered. We sat down in the living room, “Maybe we should know what happened, so we can know how to protect her” Liam said. “Yeah, that’s actually a good idea” James said. “Yes, it is but we can still talk about what we can do, so we’re prepared” I said, and they all agreed.

*A couple of hours later*

We had talked for half an hour, and then we watched TV. Suddenly there was someone knocking on the door, I went over and opened it to see it was Tyler, Josh and Chad, Ruby’s best guy friends also Liam’s, Mark’s and James’ little brothers, and that means they are like little brothers for me too, like Ruby is like a little sister to all of them. I have known them so long, so I trust them. “Hey, where’s Ruby?” Josh asked, “She’s in her room, but don’t go up there” I answered. “Why?” Chad asked, “Yeah she’s sad and have been crying a lot” I answered, “Why is she sad?” Tyler asked with a concerned voice.

“I don’t really know why, the only thing I know is that there was a creepy dude earlier”

“Wait what, is she okay”

“I think she’s scared of him or something like that”

“Should we call Sarah and Emily, maybe they can help?”

“Yeah that’s a good idea, and come in”

“Is it okay, if we try to speak with her?”

“Yes, you can try”

With that Tyler and Chad went upstairs to talk to her, and Josh called the girls. “They don’t pick up the phone” Josh said, “Okay, I guess we’ve to do that ourselves” I answered him. “GUYS COME UP QUICK!” Tyler yelled from upstairs, I ran upstairs as fast I could, and when I came up, I saw that they had come into her room. They held her down on the floor, which can be pretty hard since she is stubborn as hell, “Come see” Chad said, I went over to them, and they showed me some bruises on her arms. “What’s wrong?” I heard Noah’s voice from behind me. “Why do you have bruises?” I asked her in a stern voice, and she didn’t answer which just got me angrier. The guys went over and saw the bruises, and the also looked very pissed. “Can we please just talk about it tomorrow?” She asked in whisper, “No, we cannot, I want to know who he was and what happened” I answered in an angry and stern voice. She took a deep breath “Okay” she said in a whisper, which means she gave up. “He was Jo…John him from yesterday” she stuttered out, and that made me want to kill him. “What happened outside?” Mark asked in an angry voice, “Can I please get up before I tell you?” she asked, and Tyler and Chad removed themselves from her, and helped her up. She sat down on her bed, and a tear slipped down her cheek. “He seemed really pissed but had a smirk on at the same time, he took my wrists and pulled me outside, and pinned me up against the wall I tried to get away, but he is just as strong as you guys are. Every time kicked or something, he would tighten the grip on my wrist. When I stopped because it hurt so bad, he leant in and whispered “You’re gonna be mine someday, even if I have to cuff you to my bed, you’ll be mine” and before I could scream he put his hand over my mouth while he took my wrist into the his other hand. Then you guys came out” She said and then started crying, I was too pissed to comfort her, so I stormed out determined to protect her.

POV Tyler

As soon as she was finished telling the story, she started to cry, and Ryan was too angry to comfort her. So, I went over and hugged her, and she instantly hugged me back. “You guys can go out, and make sure Ryan doesn’t do anything stupid, I’ll stay with her and make sure she is okay” I said to them, they nodded and went out. I hugged Ruby tight and laid her down on the bed, but she wouldn’t let go of me, so I laid down beside her, and hugged her. She slowly calmed down, but I kept on cuddling with her. Only when she fell asleep, I took the comforter over her, and turned the lights off and went out of her room. I went downstairs to see the boys talking, “Is she okay?” Mark asked, “She’s asleep now, but she calmed down” I answered. “Thank you, I didn’t know what I thought about by just leaving her, I’m just so mad about that John guy” Ryan said, “It’s okay I understand, but what happened yesterday?” I asked, then the guys told us what happened yesterday. “I’m sorry, we didn’t go with her that was stupid of us” Chad said, “It’s okay, it wasn’t your fault” Ryan said with a smile on his lips. “But what do you think that John guy wants?” Liam asked, “I guess he wants her body, like so many guys from the school” Noah said. “Should we order some pizza, and then we can talk about what to do?” I asked, “Sure, why not” Josh said.

*An hour later*

We had eaten the pizzas and had talked about what to do. We had agreed on there should be someone with her all the time. I heard a sound from the stairs, and saw it was Ruby, “Are you okay?” I asked her, and then all the guys looked at her. “I think so, but I’m just going to eat something” She said, “Okay there is pizza left in the kitchen” Mark said. She just smiled and went inside the kitchen, after a couple of minutes she screamed. We all ran inside the kitchen, and saw her sitting on the kitchen counter, “What happened?” Ryan asked his voice filled with concern, “There was a huuuge spider” she answered. Suddenly a spider crawled in front of her, and it was indeed a huge spider. Ryan took the spider spray behind him and sprayed it on the spider, and it died. “It’s dead now you’re safe” Ryan said, she jumped down and carried on with the pizza. The boys went inside the living room again, but I stayed “Are you sure, you are okay?” I asked her, “Yeah why shouldn’t I be?”. “Since a creepy dude just said that he wanted you cuffed to his bed” I said, “I guess I should be scared, but I’m not so stop” She said. She started to eat, “What are you gonna do tonight, after you have finished eating?” I asked, “I think I’m gonna go to bed, so I’m fresh for tomorrow” she answered. “Okay, I think I’m going home soon” I said, “Cool”

“But please stay save from now on”

“Of course, why shouldn’t I?”

“Because you love to be free, and don’t care about a lot of things”

She just laughed at that, when she had finished eating Josh, Chad and I went back to our houses.
