"How sure are you he is hanging in the balance" Drahul whispered

"I do not know why you question my expertise but I assure you he is hanging in the balance, we don't have much time"

"Lower your voice, someone could hear you," Drahul said

"It's not my fault I was blessed with a thick loud voice... My point is we need to do this as soon as possible, let's try and see if it works" My master said while trying to hush his tone.

"If! What do you mean by 'if' This solution has to work" Drahul whispered

My master was still in talks with Drahul the Beta of Tredolor wolfdom, Beta Drahul the one who was good at hiding his vulnerable emotions. They discussed in private about approaching the balance. It was the only way to save the Alpha king but the royal family and council had to approve it. I heard their whispers no matter how hard they tried to speak in low tones. The wall had ears and I was the only one with ears that could penetrate through walls. The idea of approaching the balance had to remain a secret until it was displayed before the council. The council was like a parliament that governed the wolfdom of Tredolor.

I stood in the hallway while my master and Drahul discussed in the royal gallery room. It seemed more safe to converse there. While standing there I kind of felt perturbed whenever I remembered Luna Elena and I felt heartbroken when I recalled the situation of the Alpha king. I wanted to barge into his chambers and wake him, I wanted to reach out to kiss his tired chapped lips.

Alpha King Zuke has always looked like an arcade of fine paradise even on his sick bed, although he seemed frail because of his recent condition.

He was a handsome werewolf, six feet hunky. His thick brow made his face alluring, he was charming from the depth of his captivating eyes to his winsome smile. When he spoke, his kingly meekness interweaved with his conformed dignity and his cheekbones carved down towards his sharp-cornered jaw. he was just perfect in every way I could think of.

I made a swift turn along the hallway towards the Alpha king's chambers. When I arrived I saw some of the guards of the castle. I pretended like I was moving in to offer some healing herbs to the king.

"How is he," a familiar voice asked

I was stopped right in my tracks when I was so close to opening the Alpha King's chambers. I disliked interruptions because sometimes It felt like it was a warning sign from the moon gods to me.

And This warning sign said 'Stop don't enter the Alpha king's room, it's not worth it'.

The gods could have said it straight through my conscience rather the sent an Omega who in his curiosity wanted to know about the progression of the king's health.

I cleared my throat to ward off any obstructive awkwardness. I secretly rolled my eyes tirelessly hoping he could walk away but no he was still there, I had to provide an answer.

"He is going to get good," I said while introducing a basis for us to walk down the towards the royal garden.

"When?" He said while taking a few steps

He was walking slowly when I needed him to walk faster, I couldn't have him standing close to the Alpha king's chamber, what if I entered and he eavesdropped on me?

"When my master is done with a few treatments"

"When" he asked again

"Leothadine, you repeated your question," I said in a short calm temper

Leothadine glanced at me shortly, he was probably trying to get more words out of my mouth, he knew that I knew more than I was letting out.

Leothadine was an Omega of Tredolor serving under the castle's arm, he once had an interest in making me his mate but I refused. My wolf nature could sense him to be mine but I was more attracted to the Alpha king although he once had a Luna, who is now dead.

When we entered the garden, Leothadine plucked a Lavender rose and presented it to me. His eyes adorbed an innocent stare Indicating that I should accept the rose even if I disliked him. It was a pitiful situation that I was forced to accept a rose from the he-wolf that I loathed. If only the Alpha King gave me a rose like this one, I wouldn't have this revulsion.

"Luna Elena liked them so much. It was one of her favorites" Leothadine said

"I know she liked Lavender rose, we grew up together"

"Oh, sorry I forgot. Just that the castle feels so cold without her and sometimes I try to cheer myself up by remembering the things she cherished"

"Did the Alpha King ever-present this rose to Elena"

"Yes," he inhaled briefly and continued, "one time he gave her a vase full of these Lavender roses.

I could picture the smile on Elena's face and the handsome delight that eluded Zuke's countenance when he gave her the rose. It was just a picture in my head not that I witnessed it. At that point, I remembered I needed to see the Alpha King one last time before I left the castle. Which almost happened before I was interrupted by Leothadine.

"I have to go, I need to give the king some medicine" I lied. Besides, why did I have to add that emphasis. I didn't need to explain myself of course I was the wolf seer's apprentice. I could be sent to the king's chambers to treat him.

"I look forward to seeing you again" he winked before I could disappear into the hallways sprinting towards the Alpha king's chambers.

When I arrived at his chambers, I knelt beside the Alpha King. I saw that he was asleep like a baby in a cradle. I didn't want to interfere but I was tempted to place a kiss on his lips. I moved my lips towards his face and at that moment I implanted a kiss on him, It was a beautiful ecstasy.

"Elena" Zuke said immediately he woke up. I wasn't expecting him to wake up but I was pained when he said Elena, he was still in love with her. I saw that he had missed her touch so badly. He was eluded in another realm.

I am Desmona, not Elena. I am the wolf seer's apprentice. I wish I could say it out loud but my voice would rat me out. I rather stay quiet and accept my fate.

The Alpha king was still weakand I decided to leave. What was the point of laying with him at his vunerable moment but surprisingly he dragged me to himself

"Elena my love what took you so long" he muttered and then he proceeded to reciprocate with a kiss.
