Chapter 4

Roxanne's POV

Waking up the next day, I was immediately reminded of what had transpired last night, I got out of bed and had my bath. I stayed under the shower for a long time hoping to forget everything but to no avail, all I got was a scolding from mom, apparently I used up all our water.

After doing all sorts of thing like doing the dishes, laundry and cleaning which I would normally leave to my sisters and was still not forgetting I decided to go out to clear my head.

A 23 year old at an amusement park is not weird at all I told myself as I entered the park.

I paid for tickets and got on rides, after almost spewing my guts out I had totally forgotten about Bri.

I then got in line for ice cream, thankfully the line was short, it was almost my turn with just one person in front of me when a little girl tapped me, hey auntie the girl said in her cute voice, hey beautiful I replied as I squatted, can I cut the line please she said, I came here without daddy knowing and I have to go back on time she added, okay baby I replied and then let her get her ice cream and paid for it.

Thank you the little girl said as she hugged my feet and then ran off to meet her father. I got my ice cream and subconsciously started reminiscing on Bri's words again, I guess the effect wore off I said to no one in particular and then made my way back home.

On getting home, she went straight to her room then got a call from Bri, she instantly declined it, what else does she want she thought to herself, she went to do other stuffs but the phone wouldn't stop ringing, out of annoyance she picked the call.

What the hell do you want! she screamed at Bri, Roxanne I'm sorry, I didn't mean what i said Bri said apologetically, I understand Bri Roxy said, you finally said what you actually think of me she added then she cut the call.

she's so stubborn! Bri remarked .

Roxanne's POV

Time flew quickly and Monday was here, jumping out of my head I nearly hit my head, I had a quick bath and slipped into a black V neck top, white suit trousers, paired with black wedge heels and a white suit jacket, I really look like an important person I said to myself as I styled my hair into a bun, then I applied minimal makeup and headed downstairs.

Rhianna nearly choked on her tea as I approached them, what's wrong I asked confused by her reaction, nothing's wrong Riele replied, yeah except the fact that you look like one of those chebeols Rhianna added, and what's wrong with that?, my baby looks amazing mom said as she kissed my forehead, good luck darling she added, thanks mom I replied, and stop watching K drama's I said to Rhi as I went out.

The address was simple and straight forward, soon I found my self Infront of a mighty gate, I showed the guards the card I was given and was directed to the main entrance.

I dusted myself and rang the doorbell, hi a little girl said as she opened the door, it was the girl from the ice cream stall!, Hi beautiful I replied, Ice cream auntie! she squealed as she hugged my feet, I didn't catch your name I said as we disengaged, I'm Jackie she replied, Jackie I'm here to see Mrs Washington I said, come on in I'll go get her!, she said as she literally dragged me into their house then left to get Mrs W.

I stood in their living room, admiring the beautiful art works lying everywhere, wow! I said subconsciously, you like it? I heard of course, there's are master pieces I replied subconsciously, my father had great taste in art works the voice said, oh my goodness I said snapping out of the haze I was in, I'm Roxanne I introduced as I looked at him.

Oh my those are the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen, one was grey and the other was blue, I immediately got lost in them. hello? he called snapping me out of my dream world, I'm sorry I got lost in them I said, my eyes? he asked, of course they're so pretty I replied, sorry I can be blunt sometimes I added, it's okay he replied.

I'm Jersey Washington he introduced, thanks for the compliment he added and my shameless cheeks reddened.

What are you here for he asked after a while, I actually don't know I replied, Mrs W. invited me to talk I replied, is mom looking for a nanny?he asked, wow! is that how bad I look? I blurted out, no no no, I'm sorry he quickly apologized. Daddy!, Jackie called as she approached us, I see you've met Ice cream auntie she said, Ice cream auntie? he asked confused , nothing Jackie said realizing she had busted herself, grandma is coming auntie she said and quickly excused herself to avoid further questions. Daddy? I said as the cutie left, yeah she's my everything he replied, she's so cute I remarked and we continued talking for a while.

Hi Roxanne, Mrs W. said as she came down the stairs, I'm sorry if I kept you waiting she apologized, it's fine ma'am I had company, he just left to answer a call Roxy replied, sorry I have go now jersey said returning from his call, love you mom he said as he pecked her, bye pretty he said to Roxanne as he walked out the door. So.. our talk? Mrs W. said as she ushered Roxanne to the veranda.

After a little while....

I understand your plight Roxanne Mrs W. said, it's hard to get recognition without connection she added, then should I accept Melanie's offer? Roxy asked, hell no! Mrs W. replied, Melanie just wants to keep you under wraps, so you won't threaten her position she added. I have seen your works and I would have loved to offer you a position but I don't want it to seem like I'm keeping you under wraps either she said, what position ma'am? Roxy asked, a personal stylist's position, I don't know if that'll be enough recognition Mrs W. replied, it will be more than enough ma'am, all I want is to get the credits for my work Roxy replied, then you're hired Mrs W. said, what! Seriously! oh my God! thank you so much ma'am said happily.

I have a condition though Mrs W. said after Roxy finished, what condition ma'am Roxy asked, You have to live here she replied, why is that? Roxy asked, I do not only need a stylist, I also need help with Jackie she replied, jersey is trying his best but she needs someone like you, she's lonely, she added I'll think about it Roxy said I'll give you a feed back tomorrow she added, that's great! Mrs W. exclaimed, unfailingly tomorrow? she asked, unfailingly Roxy replied.
