It’s Monday and Sheena is already in her class.
Joffiel suddenly remembered Drew's offer about the available job for her. She knows that this is a great opportunity since not all people have thid kind of chance.
Maybe I should try to look for the company that Drew sent me, he’s a good guy so I should not make him anticipate that I’m not coming. Joffiel thought to herself while preparing to go out.
Joffiel finds her way through the internet. She was amazed by the information provided by this kind of invention. The people are really creative. They know how to make things easier for them.
She walks around the vicinity since the company is not that far from her place. Not far away, she saw the Company that Drew was talking about. She immediately went to the main door.
“Good morning, Ma’am,” a guard welcomed Joffiel as she walked toward the information desk at the ground floor of a tall building.
“Good morning,” Joffiel answered.
“What can I do for you, Ma’am?” the receptionist asked Joffiel.
“How could I get in touch with Andrew from your Human Resource team?” Joffiel asked.
“Please wait for a moment, I’ll make a call for Andrew. What’s your name, Ma’am?” the receptionist asked.
“I’m Joffiel, Joffiel Navin,” she said.
“Okay, Ma’am Joffiel. Please wait for a moment,” the receptionist replied.
As the call was made, Drew came down to meet with Joffiel. She politely nodded as sign of respect. They are in the Company so Joffiel thought that she needs to act formal.
“Joffiel! Thank you for considering our offer. Our boss is currently busy but I’ll try to slip some message to him that you are here,” Drew said.
“Good morning, Drew. Sorry that I only came here today,” Joffiel said.
Joffiel stayed calm as she looked around to find out what are the other employees doing in the company.
“Don’t worry about that, let me guide you first in one of our meeting rooms so you could sit and rest,” Drew replied.
Joffiel tried to use her eyes of discernment to Andrew and with the same result with Sheena, a green light can be seen with Joffiel’s eyes. With that, Joffiel knew that she’s not into a company that is suspicious.
Drew guided Joffiel to a room that is used for interviewing an applicant. She doesn't feel nervous. If ever that I will not be able to pass the interview, it's okay. The Creator knows the best for us.
“Wait here for a moment, maybe between an hour or two, the boss could meet you. He’s quite a busy person but I already sent a message to him. I’ll prepare something for you,” Drew said.
Before Drew reached the door, a guy opened it. Dew suddenly took a step backwards and bowed to him.
She felt strange when the man looked at her. She knew his position was high so she immediately bowed in respect.
“Good morning, Sir Fenril. I thought you’ll be busy with something. Here’s Joffiel, I’ll prepare something for both of you,” Drew said.
“Good morning, Sir,” Joffiel greeted.
“Good morning. So you are Joffiel, as beautiful as what I saw in the photo,” Fenril said.
Joffiel was somewhat taken aback by Fenril's praise of her. She was used to be praised by others, but this one was really different for her.
“Thank you, Sir,” Joffiel replied.
Joffiel noticed how young a boss Fenril is, but Joffiel does not show any sign of awe. I never thought that their boss would be the same age as me. Is he really the boss or is he just the son of the company’s owner? Joffiel just shrugged.
“Oh! This is the first time that a person shows no reaction to seeing me as a boss,” Fenril said.
“Ah, no, Sir. I’m just concerned about the interview so I didn’t show any reaction,” Joffiel replied.
In her mind, she did not know what she would react. She admits to herself that she is still new on having conversations with others, especially with high -ranking people.
“Well, it just makes sense, I don’t usually come during an interview of our applicant, that’s too far from my work anyway. But I came here especially for you, actually we didn’t even need an interview, you just need to decide whether you want the job or not,” Fenril said.
She wondered why it was so easy to get the job offered to her. She still doesn't know what is the job description and the job itself.
“Oh, what job are you talking about, Sir?” Joffiel asked.
“It’s being a model, I want you to be a model for our company. You just need to advertise our product. Usually we get models from an agency but I wanted you to only advertise our product. Drew will fill up all the other details about the job, but that’s the main idea about it,” Fenril said.
Joffiel keeps silent upon hearing what Fenril said, she thinks on every implication of the job to her. However, since she does not want any attention, being a model is the opposite of what she wanted.
“I’m sorry, Sir. Other than me being inexperienced about that kind of job, I don’t want a job that would garner much attention,” Joffiel said.
Fenril made a single nod. He said, “That’s unfortunate, but still, do you want any other job?”
After Fenril spoke, a knock from the door was heard. It was the assistant of Fenril.
“Just in time, Ashe. Do we have any vacancies in any department?” Fenril said to Ashe that’s making a furious face.
“Fenril! Why are you here?! You have many things to accomplish today. Like I told you, you should leave other jobs for people that are assigned to it!” Ashe furiously said.
Fenril laughs. He said, “You don’t have to be that angry, you’re scaring our applicant. And like I’ve told you before, that’s not how you talk to your boss.”
Ashe made a deep sigh. She said, “Well, since you’re already here. Let’s just move everything on your schedule.”
Upon hearing the name Ashe, Joffiel remembered the time when she’s training. She watches a girl named Ashe that would be the same age as her.
Joffiel uses her eyes of discernment to Ashe and she discovers that she’s emitting a blood red light, good enough for Joffiel to confirm that she was in fact the girl that was determined to be a demon that time.
Joffiel also tried to use her blessing on Fenril but it won’t work, Fenril is not emitting any kind of light in Joffiel's eyes.
“Why a serious look?” Fenril asked.
“No, I’m just amazed that the boss and his assistant are the same age as I am,” Joffiel replied.
“We’re just trained at a very young age so we could do this kind of thing at an early age,” Ashe replied.
“So, do we have any vacancies for her to fill up?” Fenril asked Ashe.
“Hm yup, we have. We got one but, this job has a high requirement,” Ashe answered.
“What is that? Bring it up right now?” Fenril asked.
“We have an open seat for a director for our Community Outreach Committee,” Ashe replied.
“Oh, that thing that needs a lot of work. Did Andrew know about this stuff?” Fenril said.
“Yes, he knows anything if it's about hiring,” Ashe replied.
“Then it’s decided. Joffiel, Andrew will explain to you what the job is since I don’t know much about the details. You don’t need any requirements, just decide whether you like it or not. But I hope you accept it,” Fenril said.
“Are you sure about this, Fenril? You’re a very intelligent and careful person, especially if it’s about the company? You’re really just hiring her without any kind of requirements?” Ashe asked.
“Don’t worry about this, Ashe. From the looks of it, it seems that Joffiel is very trustworthy and an intelligent girl,” Fenril said.
Ashe sighs with disbelief. He knows that he cannot stop Fenril with his decisions. He's just his assistant.
“Are you sure about this, Sir? I may not be able to function for that specific job. But I thank you for offering me, I’ll decide once I hear what this job needs,” Joffiel said.
“Okay, that’s good. Anyway, do you have time after this? Let’s have a hot coffee date,” Fenril said.
“Oh, so that’s why. Joffiel, don’t listen to this i***t. Just wait for Andrew and decide if you wanted to let this guy be your boss,” Ashe said.
Another shocking event for Joffiel. She didn’t think an assistant would treat her boss that way.
Joffiel laughs. She said, “I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Sad,” Fenril said.
“What do you mean sad? Even if she’s your applicant, you should not say those kinds of words. In addition to that, we will go back to your office and finish your work and actually, after Joffiel finishes her business here it’ll be lunch time. Who’s an i***t who wants to drink coffee during lunch?” Ashe exclaimed.
“Fine, fine,” Fenril replied.
Fenril and Ashe left the room. After a few minutes, Drew came with a tray of tea with him.
“Oh, they already left. I even brewed tea enough for four people. Anyway, did my boss give you some details about the job?” Drew asked.
“Are you talking about the job in modeling or the job in community outreach?” Joffiel asked.
“Eh? Where does the community outreach come from?” Drew exclaimed.
At that moment, there was a ring on Drew’s cellphone. Drew read the email sent to him.
“I see, you declined the job at modeling and I need to fill in the details about being the director for our community outreach committee,” Drew answered.
“Yes, I’m sorry about the modeling part. It's not really for me. You know that I do not want the attention of people,” Joffiel explained.
“Don’t worry too much about that, we could just hire some models from modeling agencies. So about the community outreach director, I’ll need more of your time in explaining the job. Is that okay or you wanted to have another appointment?” Drew replied.
“It’s okay, you can discuss it right now. I don't have anything to do after this anyway,” Joffiel answered.
“Okay, then let’s start. Actually, we gave this job to people that have more than five years of experience in the field of community outreach and you have completed a degree in marketing or the likes,” Drew said.
“Is it really okay for me to have this job?” Joffiel asked.
“Don’t worry, when you become the director, you will have your assistant that would help you out. Though she will be much older than you but she’s a good person, you could learn many things from her,” Drew answered.
“Then why not make her the director and open the seat on being the assistant?” Joffiel asked.
“That was actually the idea a few years ago but she does not want that position since working on saturday and sundays is not to her liking. She wants to spend that time with her family,” Drew answered.
“I see, so this job includes the work during weekends right?” Joffiel asked.
“Yes, most of the outreach programs that we hold are usually weekends. Though we only do it once a month so don’t worry about that too much. Well if it’s one of your concerns, then it’s a big deal,” Drew answered.
Joffiel just nodded. She will still try to research this kind of job on her own when she gets home.
“So basically, the job consists of creating an outreach program and supervising it. You also need to coordinate all of the personnel and make sure that all of the people in the company could participate at least once a year in our outreach program. It seems easy but there were many past directors that gave up their position,” Drew said.
“Why is that like that?” Joffiel asked.
“Our boss, Sir Fenril. You already met him. Just like I told you, he’s a very kind person but if it came to work, he’s very serious. He always wants perfection, most of the time, he’s the one that handles the work as the community outreach director since he’s very discontented about the workflow of the program. It’s more like that the previous directors resigned because they feel ashamed that a teenager could do a better job than them.” Drew explained.
“I see, so he’s a perfectionist. So if I decide to accept this job, I need to make him feel satisfied about my work,” Joffiel said.
“Yes, that’s the thing that you needed to make sure you do,” Drew replied.
“Is there anything else that I needed to know?” Joffiel asked.
“Unfortunately, there’s a lot. I needed to explain every past program to you if you decided to accept this job, but I could explain this briefly to help you decide before we go into details,” Drew answered.
Joffiel agreed and Drew explained many things to Joffiel.
“I think this would be a good job for me, though I need to study many things in advance before I could spend my first day as a director,” Joffiel said.
“Really? Thank you very much. You know what, Sir Fenril messaged me that if I could not convince you to accept the job, I would be fired. Though he makes sure that I know that it’s just a joke, I still wanted to win you over to our company,” Drew replied.
For another moment, Joffiel was confused again. I am not even a high-ranking student in the past so why would Fenril will win me for their company? Joffiel found him interesting.
Joffiel laughs. She said, “Your boss is very funny. Anyway, the thing that I need tomorrow is just the usual thing that I bring, right?”
“Yes, I’ll just let you meet the assistant but after that, you still have a week before you start your first day here,” Drew answered.
“Okay, Sir Drew. See you tomorrow,” Joffiel said.
Drew laughs. He said, “You don’t need to add honorifics for me, the job that you will have is of the same hierarchy as mine. You just need to address our boss, Sir Fenril and also his assistant, Ma’am Ashe.”
Joffiel nodded and proceeded to get out of the building.
Joffiel thought to herself. Well, this is a good opportunity for me. That job would let me meet many people that would help me find people on my tasks just like the job that Marisson told me about. Since I just needed six hours of work here, I could do that in the morning and in the evening I could also have another job, given that I would be hired.
Joffiel had lunch in a nearby restaurant and went home afterwards.
Ma’am Ashe is the girl during my tasks for sure. If she’s in that company, being there would also allow me to investigate the ruler of hell, my main task. My eyes are not working on Sir Fenril which is a bit suspicious. I should try using it to many people so I could test if it's only not working on him. Joffiel thought deeply.
It’s too much information in just a day but I know that I understand every inch of details. Joffiel uses her laptop to search more about the job that she accepted.
The hours go past and Joffiel falls asleep while studying.
