Chapter.20 Lunatic couple

Amelia walked down a deserted hospital hallway on a floor that visitors rarely visited because there were no inpatients on this floor. It is strange; on this floor, no patients who underwent the treatment process are confining to receiving treatment and care in this hospital even though this old hospital has ten levels. But on the eighth floor. Bustling with inpatients who suffer from internal diseases, the ninth floor of the administration section also has several clinics for doctors on duty and several rows of patient chairs waiting in line, likewise, As well as the tenth floor. 

Earlier, someone knocked on her duty's room door and told Amelia that bertha is waiting on the seventh floor. 

Her feet stepped onto the seven-floor after the elevator doors open. Even she feels fear and unsafe; she just continued her steps; her instinct tried to warn her to stop. It was as if Someone's voice telling her to go up to the floor and walked toward the corridor. When she reached the end of the quiet hallway, she suddenly saw a door that connected another hallway. Then, she entered it. 

Amelia was relieved when known were also people on the other side of the building declared uninhabited. There was regular activity shows on this floor where doctors and nurses checked patients in and out of the rooms. 

They look busy, and no one notices Amelia's presence. Amelia's desire to know is getting bigger; she walks and even descends the stairs to another room. 

Amelia looked at one of the nurses standing in the corner of the room as if she were resting. The nurse smiled and greeted her kindly: 

"Hi, you must be Ms. Amelia," 

said her cheerfully. Amelia was surprised because Someone recognized her, while before she saw the nurses' faces who walked by and looked severe and did not care about her, and to be honest, she had never seen them all in this hospital, even the kind nurse who greeted her. 

"How do you know me?" Amelia asked, still puzzled. 

"Mrs. Garcia always says your name, and I'm just guessing." 

"You're the Amelia she meant," pointing to the nameplate on Amelia's uniform. 

" Oh yes!" my name is Amelia 

"Did you mention Mrs. Garcia?" 

"Is that Bertha, the nurse in the maternity section? 

" Exactly!" said the new nurse smiled. 

"By the way, I'm Jenny," said the girl while extending her hand towards Amelia. Amelia was greeted warmly by the soft and cold touch of Jenny's hand. 

"Hi Jenny, I'm very happy to meet you, moreover, that you are an acquaintance of my best friend, Bertha." Amelia said back to Jenny. 

Jenny was a friendly nurse; she quickly got to know Amelia; she told Amelia how jenny got to know Bertha. She also said about a patient who gave birth and a little boy in the hospital. Amelia gaped, dumbfounded. She did not know about that at all, and Bertha never mentioned it. She only catches the patient who has precisely the characteristics of a woman who just died a few weeks ago where her child is still in the intensive care room. 

" a little boy?" asked Amelia with confused yes, a little boy that Mrs. Garcia's best friend is in the hospital.  

'' I didn't know that," said Amelia seriously. 

" Ah, I have no idea," repeated her. 

Amelia looked at Jenny and glanced around her thoughtfully, and she just realized that Jenny did not look like a local face. She looked like a foreigner's face, a European face, or an ordinary white American face. 

"You must not be a real Filipino," asked Amelia. Jenny laughs 

"But look I can speak Filipino fluently," he added with a laugh 

"Yes of course." Amelia replied with a laugh. 

Then Amelia looked around again; she realized that the people who passed by were not local Asian faces, but unfamiliar faces; they had high noses and slightly blonde hair. Even one of the patients sitting had blonde hair. 

Amelia was astonished; moreover, suddenly, a handsome and tall doctor with an athletic body approached Jenny while handing over a patient report, telling Jenny to recheck it carefully. It left Amelia in awe with jaw-dropping. 

" who's he?" Amelia asked seriously 

"Doctor, my future husband," Jenny said while laughing heartily. 

Amelia realized something in Jenny's laughter. It is like wounding her brain, sharpening, and echoing in her ears. 

Amelia covered her ears and shouted. 

"Enough! Your voice is hurting my ears" Jenny stopped laughing for a moment, turned to Amelia with a sharp look,  

"Hey, why don't you like my laugh?" said Jenny sarcastically. Suddenly her friendly face turned fierce; she looked at Amelia angrily. 

Amelia lifted her face and felt scared to see the change in Jenny's face. 

"Who are you really?" said Jenny with fear while walking backward in her stride. 

Jenny laughed again with a mysterious voice and made Amelia's hair stand on end. Amelia panicked and tried to escape; simultaneously, the handsome young doctor suddenly came towards them.

 But, this time, his hand was holding an ax covered in blood, likewise his coat uniform. Amelia screamed hysterically and ran towards the door to the stair through her entering the hallway that took her to another side building on the seventh floor where  She met jenny. 

  But strangely, it is so hard to reach the door. However, Amelia ran as hard as she could to reach the exit from the passage. The hallway got so long it fell over. she fell because something rolled on the floor like a ball hit her feet; she tried to keep her balance and kept running down the hall, another thing moved back towards her feet, Amelia tried to see because the room was not very bright, but she saw three human heads!! 

"Jesus Christ!" 

"What are these ?!!!" Amelia's scream could not come out caught in her throat. 

"Oh my god, help me to get out of this room." 

Amelia gasped for air and looked around in disbelief; her eyes caught a sign that said, 'Mental Health Units.' 

Amelia is getting wide-eyed could not believe it. Does this hospital have Psychiatric wards units admission? Since when? 

Amelia saw both sides along the hallway, the rooms locked outside like prison rooms, precisely the Lunatic asylum. She saw doctors and nurses locked in one room, but they seemed to overlap covered in blood, and three of them were headless! There was a patient in a mental hospital uniform; in a room, Amelia stopped gasping. Nauseated and vomiting. She can no longer continue her steps while two crazy patients are still chasing her.  

Jenny and A young man pretending to be a doctor approaches her with a grinning smile and is eager to s***h his ax at Amelia, who is half unconscious. Still, before they reach Amelia, suddenly, A strong and burly man's hand grabbed and hugged Amelia, after which Amelia passed out. 

Bertha was upset when she came to Amelia's office; she did not find Amelia there other than her two friends on duty with her. What is even weirder is that Amelia's cell phone stays on her desk. 

"You don't know where Amelia went?" Bertha asked the two nurses on duty. 

"No mam bertha," replied one of their friends. 

"This is very strange because she doesn't usually leave her cellphone, it shows on the screen missed calls up to fifteen times." 

A Janitor entered the storage room for a cleaner; how surprised he was after switching the lights on, on an old bed of a former patient, he saw a nurse sleeping there. 

He slowly approached the nurse but jumped in surprise because Amelia suddenly shouted: 

"Help!!!"  

"Ms. Amelia, I am the cleaner in this hospital." the janitor greets Amelia. 

Amelia jumped in, shocked, and got up. 

" Where am I?" 

"Miss Amelia you are in the storage room." 

" Oh, what happened to me," said Amelia while touching her head and feeling dizzy.  

" I saw you were sleep here, Ms."  

" Really, how long?" asks Amelia to the janitor 

" I am not sure, I just entered this room ten minutes ago, and noticed you sleeping on that bed when I am turn on the light," repeated him aghast.

Amelia's eyes fell on an old newspaper; she jumped out of bed and walked over to the old cupboard. And pull up the old brass-colored newspaper. Amelia's eyes widened when she saw a news headline, "The brutal murder of doctors and nurses in a mental hospital asylum by two patients who are suspected of dating." the date shows November 20, 1898.
