As soon as I made it to the training grounds I noticed Avril glaring at Alejandro while the pack warriors teased Alejandro telling him he's in the dog house...literally.
Kane was the first to notice my approach.
"And she returns," he boomed with a grin.
They all averted their attention to me, causing me to blush.
I cant lie and say these men weren't attractive, because they were and I was not blind to not be able to notice it. Their muscled forms towered over my petite frame as they approached me.
"We didn't think you would actually return. We thought you would be running with your tail tucked in between your legs," mocked Derek.
I rolled my eyes and smirked.
"I would never run from a challenge, its in my nature."
Avril scoffed looking at the three warriors with a bored expression.
"Do you really think you can take on an Alp..."
"Avril hush," I said interrupting her so she doesn't tell them I was an Alpha's Daughter.
She looked at me with a raised brow before a slow grin made its way on her features.
"Bossy as well as confident. I like it," Kane said with a wink as he grinned at me.
"I feel power radiating off of you. What are you exactly?"
I looked towards the voice and noticed it was Sebastian.
He had a calculating look on his face as he thought. I shook my head and walked away from them walking towards the training field taking my place in the middle.
"Its for me to know and for you to find out."
"As you wish," he said as he gestured for Kane to take his place on the field.
I took a deep breath before releasing, focusing on my senses. I blocked out what they were saying watching every little movement they made. Every twitch of their fingers, every slight step in direction, I noted it.
Kane narrowed his gaze at me as I stood un-moving, because he was taking too long I met his gaze letting my lip twitch in a smirk before I ran towards him.
Frederick and the pack warriors at home all told me to never strike first so I could study their technique before I attack. In this case, he was taking too bloody long and I did not have the patience to wait. I knew that he wanted me to strike first so why not.
I ran but kept my gaze on his movements. I saw a slight hesitation in his eyes before he ran head on to meet me.
Last minute I leaned back and dropped sliding under his tall frame as I took his legs out from under him, causing him to fall forward.
Without waiting another moment I spun on my heel and jumped on his form straddling him.
"I quite like this position," He said smirking at me a little breathless from the fall.
I rolled my eyes and aimed a punch towards his face. Kane deflected and thrust his hips up causing me to lose balance and fall on my back. Before he could do anything I threw my legs up and flipped to a standing position.
Kane was already standing as he watched me.
"Your pretty fast on your feet," he said as he grinned.
I rolled my eyes and launched myself at him again.
We were a mixture of blurs till I managed to grip both of his arms, fall back and kick against his chest. Causing me to grunt as I landed on my back and him flying back as he landed in a heap not too far away from me.
"s**t," I breathed as the air practically left my body from the impact of my fall.
I sat up and winced feeling the ache in my body from our fight. Kane's hits were solid, though I was glad he didn't hold back. Kane was currently panting as he stared up at the sky.
"Damn women," He breathed.
I chuckled causing him to look up.
"Where did you learn to fight and what ranking are you?" he asked as he lifted up his head to look at me while he remained splayed on the ground.
I smiled as I stood up and walked over to him offering him my hand.
"My names Nevaeh Allias."
"Allias..." he trailed off in thought.
"Isn't that...."
"Nevaeh, What are you doing?"
I looked over my shoulder to see my father coming towards us with Beta Benjamin.
Kane immediately stood up as well as the others and bowed their heads in respect as they approached.
"Training," I said with a shrug.
"And who might this be?" my father asked as he studied Kane before looking at the others.
"This is Kane, he's part of the pack warriors for the royals."
"You must fight well if you have been selected as a royal guard."
"I do Alpha, I protect the crown before I do my own life," he said as he spoke to my father.
"Anyway, what brings you here?" I asked my dad as I faced him.
"Actually I was wondering where my rebellious child had gone," he said grinning at me.
"Plus Benjamin and I were just scouting the area."
I rolled my eyes and chuckled when Kanes eyes bugged out of his head as he choked at the mention of me being the Alpha's daughter.
I patted his back as my father looked at us before turning on his heel.
"The king expects us for dinner at 6. Don't be late Nevaeh. You may resume your training."
"Your an Alpha?!" Kane said exasperated as soon as my father had left.
I nodded my head as I gave a sheepish laugh when he shot me a playful glare.
"No wonder why you were able to kick his ass," Sebastian said with a smirk as he indicated to Kane who glared at him.
"We tied," he grumbled under his breath.
I chuckled and looked at Avril as she laughed. Kane turned his glare on her causing her to wink at him, in return earning a growl from Alejandro who stood at her side. She rolled her eyes throwing her mate an irritated look as he glared at Kane who held his hands up in surrender.
I shook my head staring at them in amusement. In time, she will give in to him.
"Well it was nice training with you Kane. Next time, I expect you to kick my ass," I said with a smirk as I gave them a nod of acknowledgement before spinning on my heel and walking away from the grounds.
"Do I have to be at the dinner?" Avril asked as she fell into step beside me.
I knew she didn't want to go but since her dad will be there , I knew she had to go.
"I don't even know why you bother asking me that, we both know you have to be present too," I said as I raised a brow at her.
She grumbled as she walked ahead of me and shifted into her wolf running into the distance.
"Will she ever accept me?"
I jumped in surprise forgetting Alejandro was there this whole time.
"Oh my god did you have to do that," I breathed as I recovered myself.
He chuckled as he looked towards the distance where she had disappeared.
I sighed feeling sorry for the guy and stopped in my steps placing a hand on his shoulder. He frowned, wondering why we stopped before he watched me waiting for an explanation.
"She went through a lot of crap when she was younger. Just trust me, in time she will accept you. Give her the time to open up to you, because even her stubborn ass can't deny fate," I said with a smile.
He nodded his head as a genuine smile graced his features.
"Then I will give her time," he said as he shifted and ran in the direction Avril disappeared in.
I sighed feeling sadness wash over me. In my case, I didn't even have a chance with my mate.
He had already chosen.
