Chapter Eleven

It is a total bore if I had to say judging from the first ten minutes I have been here. People were so fake in the royal court. Smiling at you and being kind till you turn your back on them and their already stabbing you in the back and judging you. I rolled my eyes as a few ladies to my right started giggling about god knows what. Till they mentioned Axels name which piqued my interest. "Poor Delilah doesn't see that her beloved is cheating on her." One of the ladies scoffed before she crossed her arms in annoyance. "He was fine last week but now he refuses to be swayed into bed." I cringed at the fact that Axel is a man w***e before shaking my head to clear my thoughts. What he does is his business. It's not my right to pry. I moved away from the group and scanned the crowd only to see Axel walking towards me. Oh no. What the hell does he want now? I internally groaned as he approached me. "Can we talk?" I looked around the hall ignoring his question, acting as if he weren't there. "Neveah." I hummed as I pretended to wave to someone when in reality no one was looking at me. "Why are you waving? No ones looking at you." I  sighed dramatically before meeting Axels gaze. "What do you want?" "To talk." I gestured for him to talk before crossing my arms. "I'm sorry." "For what exactly?" I questioned. "For everything. For what happened at the Lake. For Delilah being my chosen. And I'm especially sorry for not taking the time to explain my situation to you properly. There were so many chances I could, but then you were either surrounded by unmated males or working out with them. And frankly those two options always pissed me off." I nodded in understand waiting patiently for him to continue. "Delilah and I aren't anything. She may be my chosen but it wasn't either of our choices. She is like a sister to me and before you cringe and throw your cute little glare my way, we haven't done anything. The 'chosen' title is merely just that. A title." "Then why bother with throwing in formalities such as a title. Why not just wait with out the weight of naming your union to the whole world? And don't lie to me and say you haven't done anything with her when you clearly stated it in her office that you had sex." "I lied. I had just finished arguing with our fathers and when I heard you question me and Delilahs relationship it just came out. I don't know why I lied but I did and I'm sorry for that too. Our fathers grew restless and demanded I name myself a Luna and Queen. Delilah is of royal status and is close to my family so my father and her father created the union without my knowledge." "We both found out when the announcement had already been publicly proclaimed." "Okay...why are you telling me this now?" I questioned. He took a step forward and grasped my hand in his as he kept my gaze hostage. "I don't like having to ward off every un-mated male who looks in your direction. I want you to be mine Neveah. Officially. I want everyone to know that your my true mate but I also want to do it in a way it doesn't deter Delilahs reputation. I know she longs for a mate of her own." I bit my lip in thought and cursed my reasonable mind as it went back to the time I gave Avril advise about her mate. To give her mate a chance and not let the opportunity slip away. Mates are a blessing from the Goddess. Please Goddess don't let me regret my decision. "I'm going to give you chance Axel...Just one okay so please don't stuff it up." The grin that took over his features caused a laugh to bubble out of me from the happy glint in his eyes. "You have no idea how happy you just made me my little mate." "I think I have a fair idea," I said with a chuckle. He leaned forward to kiss me causing me to laugh as I placed my hand on his chest keeping him away. "Kissing me right now will cause rumor's. Fix your situation first before a lot of the women here will cast judgement." He chuckled shaking his head as he kept my gaze. "Soon." I smiled and nodded my head in agreement. "Soon," I confirmed. With that said he stared at me a little longer before turning on his heel and walking away to where I assumed his father was. I sighed heavily and placed a hand on my chest calming my racing heart. Axel was going to be mine soon. My wolf yipped excitedly in my head as I made my way across the hall making my exit. I paused when I heard an argument echoing off the walls as the main doors closed. "Don't f*****g touch me! I would have never chosen anyone other than my mate. But clearly you f*****g did. Honestly you make me sick." I frowned when I recognised the voice and quickened my pace trying to pinpoint their location. "It's not what it seems! Please understand," the girl sobbed. I stopped in my tracks even more confused. Was that Delilah? "How can I? Just leave me alone and go back to your chosen," he spat. I had never heard him so angry before which surprised me. My heart hurt for him causing me to resume my pace. "The least you can do is hear me out. If Nevaeh can tolerate Axel why can't you do that with me!"  "What the f**k does Nevaeh have to do with this?" Silence filled the halls before he must of realised something. Delilah didn't make a sound. "Are you telling me that Axel is Nevaehs mate?! You both are f*****g sick to make her watch both of you prance around as she assists her father. f**k! I need to find her. I can only imagine what she's going through." "Please..." "Do not speak Delilah. We are done here." "No please don't..." "f**k off," he growled. I finally rounded the corner as my gaze widened in surprise. They both snapped their gazes in my direction as I appeared. "Frederick?"
