Chapter Ten

As soon as I made it to the house I shifted and ran in not caring that I was naked.

I'm pretty sure everyone's out anyway right? I know for sure my dad and Benjamin is out and the maids are probably having lunch so it shouldn't be a problem. Plus it's a huge house and I rarely meet another soul when roaming around.

Just as I was about to turn a corner I crashed into a body sending us both flying to the ground. Who ever I landed on grunted from my weight causing me to blush.

Ok I get it I'm not f*****g light, so what?

I placed my hands on his shoulders and pulled away looking at the face of the man I fell on.

"Darius?"

He smirked before looking down at my body. His smile widened when he met my gaze wiggling his brows.

"You have quite the pair on you."

I furrowed my brows in confusion before I looked down at myself and gasped as my boobs were on display for everyone to see.

"s**t!"

I lost my balance and fell to the side of him landing on my back.

"Ok that's too much Nev, you need to go before I do something I regret."

I looked at him watching his eyes darken excessively.

I groaned in mortification before I stood up quickly and ran for my room hearing Darius laughter trail behind me.

It's one thing getting naked to shift but being naked in a house where I have no intention of shifting is hella awkward.

I sighed as I threw on my robe and jumped in fright when my door burst open and a very excited Avril bounded in.

"Put your hands in the air if your ready for some beer!"

I rolled my eyes as I took a seat on the bed.

"What's got you so excited?"

She grinned and wiggles her brows at me.

"We have the ball to go to tonight. And you my friend are coming with me."

I shook my head ready to refuse before she screamed and pounced on me making the both of us fall into the bed as she slapped her hand over my mouth.

"Shut it before you piss me off Nev."

I glared at her and licked her hand causing her to squeal as she ripped her hand away from my face as I laugh.

"Everyone's going to be there. Even Frederick. Apparently my dad went back to the pack last night so Ricky decided to make his way here and spend the rest of the week here with us. Isn't it exciting?!"

I rolled my eyes at the mention of our best friend joining us.

"Sure its so exciting," I said with my voice laced with sarcasm.

She rolled her eyes before walking over to the closet before throwing the double doors open.

"What to wear," she mumbled repeatedly as she rummaged through my closet.

"What do you want to wear Nev? Do you want to go for a daring look or a classy yet f**k me look?"

"Honestly Avril I don't care."

"Hmm ok we will go with the Classy yet f**k me look then. You will look f*****g sexy boo," she squealed as she pulled out three dresses before throwing them on my bed causing me to sigh loudly.

Knowing her, she will make a hurricane of a mess then leave it for me to clean up.

As soon as we were changed we were escorted by the omegas that came to get us in our room.

"Hello handsome, what's your name," Avril grinned as she linked her arm with the guy.

I rolled my eyes as I accepted the arm offered to me by the other dude.

"I'm Carlisle beautiful. I'm here to take you to the ball."

I walked past the pair with my partner exiting the room before I looked back at them.

"Carlisle I suggest you do your job by escorting us and not flirt with her. She has a mate and I'm sure you know him quite well," I grinned then threw him a wink as I sauntered away with my partner.

As soon as we made it to the entrance I gulped loudly catching the attention of my escort.

"You nervous?"

I looked up at him and smiled as I shook my head.

"I just hate these things. I already can't wait for this night to be over."

He chuckled exposing a dimple in his left cheek causing me to swoon.

I'm a sucker for dimples.

"Fair enough. Well m'lady shall we go in."

"If you wish good sir," I laughed as we both entered the hall.

This is probably the most crowded I've ever seen the place.

I looked over the crowd trying to spot a certain brunette.

"Looking for someone?"

I looked back at the guy I came with and realized I didn't even know his name.

"I'm looking for a friend. By the way what's your name?"

"Oh sorry how rude of me. I'm Noel."

"Nice name."

I smiled at him before I went on my way but was suddenly grabbed by the wrist and dragged away to a secluded corner in the ballroom.

"What the hell Axel!?"

He slammed my back against the wall as he leaned into me probably not understanding the meaning of personal space.

"Get off you i***t," I said irritatingly as I tried to push him away.

I met his gaze and froze. 

His eyes were pitch black indicating his wolf was coming out. His jaw was clenched while his figure was tense.

"Axel?"

"I can't control the urges," he growled out trying to reign his wolf in.

I could see the internal battle through his eyes and knew he was struggling.

I sighed heavily before I managed to get my hands free and cupped his face.

"Calm down," I whispered while closing my eyes.

The sparks coursing through the end of my fingertips to his face felt soothing for the both of us.

Our bond intertwining forever binding us together.

"I'm sorry Neveah," he said gruffly after a moment of silence.

I opened my eyes and met his gaze before offering him a small smile.

"I'm sorry too."

With that said I managed to free myself from his grasp and left him there as he leaned his head on the wall sighing deeply.

I shook my head, saddened by our reality.
