Chapter Five Jace couldn’t believe he’d kissed her. What had possessed him? Everything he’d decided about relationships over the past couple of years argued against doing anything that stupid. But it hadn’t felt stupid. It felt right. It felt great, in fact. And she certainly didn’t seem opposed. Despite his exhaustion, he didn’t fall asleep right away. All sorts of discomforts nagged at him and made it hard to doze off until the ibuprofen he’d taken had a chance to kick in. He didn’t have crutches with him, so he’d had to wear the prosthetic a lot longer than he normally did, which left his stump and hip aching.
