Niece

Our acts are childish and very street-like. It was so embarrassing, but I'm glad to put some scratches on that lady! I certainly won't let Amara get into trouble alone. Well, I can't blame her. That b***h did go overboard. We're supposed to go into the police station for making a wreck and disturbing other customers at the mall, but because of our names, we're let free.
"Stop right now!" Rious' voice thundered. He looks dark and menacing. I saw how tired his eyes were while looking at us. That's the only time we stopped. Amara was cursing and attempting to grab and drag the lady, but I had already pulled her out of the mall. Gosh, that's enough.
I couldn't even look at Rious at that moment. I felt like he'd discriminated against my actions. I don't want to see how disappointed he was in me. Nevertheless, I don't regret what we did earlier.
"Argh! She better not let me see her again or else! Hell will break!" Amara continues to rant about her feelings while we're in the car on our way to her condo. Since, we can't let our parents know about what happened. They'll surely freak out.
"Let's calm down now. She's no one. Let's not waste our time on her." I squeezed her hand to calm her down a bit. We ended up in her condo treating our scratches from the fight earlier. It's bothersome, really.
I spent the remaining days at home. Preparing for the new school year. I already bought enough school stuff, so I don't really need to worry about my supplies. To be honest, I'm kind of excited about it. Much more when I heard that Rious and I would be going to the same school.
"Mom, are you sure? That Rious will be taking his Senior Year at DLSU?" I mean, I have to make sure at least. Even though our last meeting at the mall was not so pleasant, I'm still excited about meeting him again. I'm sure he'd already broken up with that stupid girl of his. Right. She's not his girlfriend. He only do flings.
"Yes?" She looked puzzled. "I met your Auntie Elyse at the café coincidentally, and we chatted for a bit. She mentioned it to me." She squinted her eyes at me. "Why? Why are you so curious about that boy?" Her eyes were full of curiosity.
"Can't I? I like him, Mom." I boldly said. She's my Mom, of course, before I can even tell her something she already knows. There's no point in hiding it from her. Besides, maybe she can help me?
"What? You just met once, Caramel!" She exaggerated. That's true, but so what?
"It's love at first sight, Mom." I rolled my eyes.
"Oh my, oh my. You don't speak like that. You're sixteen. Your Dad will surely ground you if he finds out. Focus on your studies, Cara." Knowing how persistent I am, Mom just shrugged it off. It's not like I'm marrying him any time soon. We still need to pass the girlfriend and boyfriend thing first.
"Of course, Mom. I'll only marry if I'm successful already." I quickly drank my chocolate before saying good night to Mom. Dad might be in his office, doing work for us to live like a royal.
I reflected on my encounters with Rious. These past few days, I'm kind of missing him, actually. I can't wait for tomorrow's opening of the classes. Honestly, I'm scared that he might be really turned off of me. My attitude may be stinky, but argh! I just hope that we can start off as friends. Then, he'll fall in love with my charms and we'll get married! Live happily ever after.
I picked up my phone on the bedside table and stalked his i********: account. There's still no post beside his first post. I proceeded to check his brother's account, Zorene.

Bad boys turned good. What's up, darling?
All I saw in his account was him being with different girls in every post! This guy must love parties a lot. However, there's also a selfie of him and his mother. They looked so happy. A picture of him showing his body on a beach, with girls, of course. I continued to scroll through his account, hoping to find a glimpse of Rious' face.
So far, there's no sign of Rious' face showing up. I felt sorry for Zorene's future wife, he's clearly a womanizer. Some of the photos are so scandalous, I even saw a reel video of his girls grinding on him?! What the hell? Gross!
My curiosity was ignited when I saw the girl that we fought in the mall with Mara. Is she a two timer? Hah! I knew it. I immediately clicked into the photo and looked at the comments. I saw the account of that girl, I stalked her account.

Wise girls are my girls.
So, her name was Katherine Diesel. And she's a model. I also found out that she's older than Rious. His type must be an older woman than him. Too bad, his future wife is three years younger than him. Me. Katherine does post a lot of her gigs. From photoshoots, parties, gatherings, and endorsements. Her life looks perfect in her insta account.
My blood instantly boiled when I spotted a picture of them together with Rious. Not only two, but more than five photos! I quickly skimmed through the photos. Some are just the two of them, while there's also a photo of them with Rious' mother.
I can feel my tears forming in my eyes. They... Looked perfect together. I checked the comment section and I couldn't help but let my tears fall.

Family bonding without me??? That's bad.
She's already accepted into his family. Even close to them. How I wish... I put down my phone for a moment to cry. Why am I hurting so bad? It's like we're already in a relationship or been together for years already.
When I calmed myself down, I forced myself to read the other comments. But what really caught my attention was the comment of username: @girlnamedjustine.

Your niece is so pretty, Auntie @docelysedieselw.
Niece?! I was petrified. What does she mean? I was in the middle of my conclusion when Amara's number appeared on my screen. I looked at the time, it was already 11:06 PM. She doesn't normally call at this hour, because she's already asleep by 9 PM. I immediately answered. Maybe something is up.
"Mara, hon? What's up?" I asked worriedly, but there was no response. "Amara? Hello? Are you there, honey?" I looked back to my screen to make sure if the call was still on going.
"Rhyme." I could sense through her voice something happened bad. She never greets me with this kind of calmness. "Cloud and I... We're over. He calls it quits."
"Okay? ... What?!" I was beyond shocked.
Amara and Cloud were childhood sweethearts. They have been together for five years. Their love story is straight from a fairytale. They might have started young, but I can see their love for each other! I already imagined them getting married and having kids.
I wanted to ask her what happened but all I could hear from the other end of the call was her sobs and cursing. I feel so hurt for her. I wanted to go there and comfort her. Go to her condo, but knowing her independent attitude, she doesn't want anyone to see her crying. I decided not to ask her any questions and just listen to her cries.
Hearing her cry makes me cry too. Mara rarely shows her vulnerable side. But when she does, it must really hurt a lot. I was silently crying for her. Cloud must have his own reasons for their break-up. They both become my friends, but I know I'll always side with Amara no matter what.
