HER DREAMS

A girl named patricia.her mother was a prostitute.she used to sleep with different people for a living.oneday,she got pregnant but she didn't knew about that.she keeps vomiting more often, she didn't took that serious.she only thought it is because she usually drank too much.she keeps vomiting at a point that she end up at the hospital. the doctor said she was 5 months and 3weeks pregnant.she couldn't believe the doctor, but unfortunately that was the truth .she thought of an abortion. her friends make her realize how dangerous and risky it can be especially with a 5-6month pregnancy. she was so depressed and scared. (after 3months) Time for labour has arrived.after the baby was born,there was no clothes to cover her up ....(it's a little girl named Patricia).she stayed with Patricia for a week and realize that she cannot handle being a mother. she decided to throw the baby under the bridge and wrote a letter to anyone who finds her. to the best parent her name is Patricia,who ever you are please take the good care of my daughter...I hope you'd be the best parent to her than I ever was from her mother.... later that day...there was a young man who heard the baby's crying voice .he realized that the voice was from under the bridge.there ware a lot of people there .the man took that baby out from the bridge.they even called the police .the baby was taken to the police .at the police they found a letter in the baby's pocket ..the baby was taken to the orphanage they tried to find Patricia's mother but there was no luck. after 2 years there were people called Emily and Peter,they were black . they've wanted to have children for more than 2 years but they can't..the doctor said that Emily cannot be able to hold a baby for a long term .they decided to adopt a baby .they went to orphanage and they meet a sweet girl, doll faced with pure blue eyes and that was patricia.but the only difference was that Patricia was white and both Emily and Peter were black.peter didn't like her anyways...but he just respected his wife's happiness.they adopted Patricia and they were given a letter that Patricia's biological mother wrote. and they found that Patricia had cancer.but Emily still continues with her decision. after 1 week Patricia is getting the freedom she wanted ..they took the good care of her like their own child.she was very happy to be with Emily and Peter she then calls them mom and dad.patricia said it's like her dream is coming true she used to dream about having her own family. on 25 December it was the first Christmas for patricia.her mother wrote a letter for her and tells her father to give it to her when she's gone.it was the happiest Christmas for patricia.all families were there , but they Did not like Patricia at all ,only because Patricia was different from them.Patricia started to realize it.she become so sad. after 3years Patricia graduate at pre school and she went to grade R.her mother tells Patricia that she is proud of her every day.patricia wanted to make her mother Emily proud just like how she wanted .it's a first day at school for patricia. Emily prepared the delicious breakfast Patricia never had before. she even prepared a lunch.she was taken to a local school .she was the only one who's white.most school kids makes fun of her just because of the colour of her skin.the next day morning, her mother came into her room and told her that it's time to get ready for school.she said "she was sick and she had headache".her mother believed her but she lied.she did not want to go to school because of being descriminated.patricia takes about 3days not going to school.the fourth day, her teacher came to her home and tells her mother about what happened the first day at school.patricia's mother reminds her "not to give up ,, continue to make her proud ". Patricia went to school , her teachers used to compliment and gratitude her in every subject ,she was very brilliant in class. learners can't stop making fun of her.when she got home, she founds that her mother was sick ,on top of that her father was drinking alcohol.her father drank all her mother's saving. following day... Patricia was the one who cooked before she went to school.she used to be a clean girl but today she was so untidy.it is just because her mother wasn't feeling so well.she didn't even bath.it was really hard for Patricia since her father doesn't seem to care.she wasn't coping at all.when she got home her mother was gone.family members were there ..when Patricia asked "where's her mother" everyone just ignores her. they even told her she's not part of the family .she didn't even know that her mother is dead. after 1week ...everyone who was present at the funeral went back to their homes.it was only Patricia and her father left.next morning,it was time for Patricia to go to school but her father said she must do the housework before going to school and Patricia was only 6years old.when it was time for Patricia to take a bath, her father came into her room and he r***d her. Patricia did not went to school .his father Did that almost every day. that's when she started experiencing her first period.patricia was given no food to eat,she had to go to the river to fetch water before she goes to school. she was beaten everyday for nothing.she realise she couldn't take it. but she never knew that peter and Emily was her stepmom and dad.through all the good memories she used to get,the freedom,and the good care she used to get, it was like their real family.but her mother Emily used to say "family doesn't require blood,it requires love". one night she packed her things and leave without anyones knowledge.in the morning her father was looking for her not as his child but because he wanted to r**e her. Patricia slept at the river,she said it's a better way at the river as she would be able to bath everyday and she can also wash her clothes. everyday after school,she goes at the street asking for food and money ,hoping kind souls could help her. she usually eats the dumped food.she keeps going to school because she wanted to keep her mother's wish going. how could she does that? she doesn't had a pen to write. she normally stole from other students at school.her clothes were full of blood.one of the most kindness teacher helped her.she even got her 5 pack of pads as well as new school uniform. after 5years Patricia started dating when she was 11 years old, in grade 5. she was in love with a boy named Thabo.he was 15 years old .they used to love each other. Thabo even introduced her to his family.his family wasn't interested in her anyways but they let her stay.Thabo's mother always recommend Thabo not to sleep with Patricia because they don't want any white or coloured child in their house.they say she will bring the bad look to their family.his mom even suggested Thabo to use condoms. she bought them for Him. Patricia used to cook, clean and wash the dirty clothes.she likes very tiny places.one day,Patricia realizes that her medicine was finished for cancer treatment. she usually takes the medicine privately.she wanted to tell Thabo about her health issues, but she didn't know where to start. after 2days she can't stand up for so long, she fainted.Thabo took her to the hospital.they gave her some medicine, luckily Thabo doesn't know what are they used for.patricia never told him.one night Thabo demands for sex...but she disagreed. he then r***d her ( he forced her to have s*x with him without her concerns). Patricia thought of packing and going. but there is no where she can go. the only place she can go to ,was at the river.she doesn't want to see her self under the situation her father put her through when she was a kid.one day Patricia went to visit her father, unfortunately she didn't find him .but all doors were open. he spends most of the time at the tarven , drinking everyday.patricia was looking for her birth certificate and hopelessly she also wanted some papers of where she came from .she searched every where .but the only thing she finds was a letter from her biological mother which was written few weeks after she was born and the other one was from her step mother, which was written right on Christmas day. dear Patricia, from the day I saw you at the orphanage my heart was blessed. you were adopted when you was 2 years .iam HIV positive.your dad didn't want me to take medication because he said I was lying about my health .you made my dream of being a mother come true.live your life with positive attitude and don't forget to chase your dreams .stay away from your father because he's not a good person. from your mother Patricia sat down in tears..patricia spends the quality of time not going to school.she start to investigate about her real family.sometimes she wishes her mother could left her the address from where she came from.she really needs her real family.she keeps asking people about someone who might looks like her. Patricia used to sleep at the river.she always dreamed of an old man calling her name.patricia!! but unfortunately that man is her late grandfather.her late grandfather guide her.he showed Patricia a way to get back to the orphanage. somehow Patricia finds herself at the orphanage gate. she said if I go In there I wouldn't be able to make my mother's wish come to reality.she went back to the river.always lonely,sad and depressed. she have no one to talk to. she missed being around people and friends although she had no friends.but it's better than listening to birds voices, and the flowing water.when she tries to close her eyes, she heard the same sound she had last night !! Patricia!!.the next morning she found herself at the orphanage gate again.but now she decided to enter.patricia was welcomed.she had friends and there were children of different races.she wasn't descriminated.but she couldn't forget her mother. patricia spend 5 years in the orphanage. after 5 years she got adopted again by the black women and white man.she never thought it will work . Patricia asked her self "why is everyone who's adopting me always black or had to be mixed race" . patricia did not wait for any abusive behavior towards her to happen, during the night in her new home ,she committed suicide. not knowing that ,right now she was adopted by her real parents.
