EPISODE 1 — THE WOMAN HE FORGOT
The rain had been falling for almost an hour when Amelia Carter stood outside Blackwood Tower, staring at the enormous glass building.
Three years ago, she had walked through those doors as Alexander Blackwood's wife.
Tonight, she was returning as a stranger.
Amelia tightened her grip around the small handbag hanging from her shoulder. Her heart pounded as she remembered the last time she had seen Alexander.
He had been lying unconscious in a hospital bed after the accident.
The doctors had told her that he had survived.
But there had been one terrible complication.
He had lost his memory.
Not everything.
He remembered his name. His business. His family.
But he didn't remember her.
Amelia had spent months trying to reach him, but Alexander's family had kept her away. They told her he needed peace and that seeing unfamiliar people could make his condition worse.
She knew they were lying.
Tonight, she had finally decided to stop waiting.
The elevator doors opened on the top floor.
Amelia stepped out and walked toward Alexander's private office.
Before she could knock, the door opened.
A tall man in a perfectly tailored black suit stood there.
Her breath caught.
Alexander.
He looked exactly as she remembered—handsome, powerful, and impossibly cold.
For a moment, Amelia couldn't speak.
Alexander studied her face with a confused expression.
"Can I help you?"
Those four words broke her heart.
Amelia swallowed hard.
"It's me."
His eyebrows pulled together.
"I'm sorry?"
She forced herself to smile.
"It's Amelia."
Alexander stared at her for several seconds.
Then he shook his head.
"I don't know you."
Amelia's eyes filled with tears.
"You used to."
Before Alexander could respond, a woman's voice came from inside the office.
"Alexander, who is she?"
Amelia looked past him.
A beautiful woman was sitting on the sofa.
And the moment Amelia saw her, something inside her went cold.
The woman was wearing Amelia's old wedding ring.
Alexander noticed Amelia staring at it.
"She is Victoria," he said calmly. "My fiancée."
Amelia froze.
Fiancée?
Three years of marriage had disappeared from his mind.
And someone had already taken her place.
But Amelia didn't know yet that the accident that stole Alexander's memory was only the beginning.
Someone had made sure he would forget her.
And they would do anything to keep him from remembering.
