Morgana's POV:
“You are under arrest for attempting to murder Miss. Marilyn Pearce.” Agent Cooper began.
‘Attempted murder? Under arrest?’ My mind suddenly began to race.
“Simon, are you aware of this?” I asked turning to face him, there was absolutely no way he would allow these men take me in.
This was obviously one of Marilyn's schemes.
“All your questions will be answered in court, Mrs. Langston.” Agent Cooper said coldly. “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one, an attorney will be provided for you.” He said, as he moved in to cuff me.
“She tried to push me, I moved away and she fell, that's all!” I protested, crying bitterly.
“I suggest you cooperate, Mrs Morgana, or you might lose any chance of getting an attorney.” Agent Carter cautioned.
And just like that, I was handcuffed and dragged to the police car while my husband stood there staring at me with utter disgust.
After a long and silent drive to the station I was placed in a cell, with three bulky women dressed in prison uniforms.
“What are you in here for?” The red haired lady asked.
“Nothing.” I replied but they found it rude.
“Hey listen, you don't have to be rude. If you want to survive here then you need as many friends as you can. Your attitude will ruin you.” The toothless one snapped.
“I wasn't trying to be rude, I was actually framed, that's why I am here. Once my name is cleared I will be out of here.” I explained and suddenly the whole cell erupted with laughter.
“What is so funny?” I asked, looking back and forth at the three women.
“No one leaves here kiddo, no matter how hard they try.” The third inmate replied, laughing loudly.
There was absolutely no way that I will be stuck here. I desperately needed to find a way to get out of here, but it would only be possible if Simon dropped all the charges he pressed against me.
But how?
Vince!
I turned around, and searched around the vicinity for the closest police officer and it was a chubby lady.
"Hey.” I called out. “I have the right to make a phone call, don't I?” I asked, and she continued to act like she couldn't hear me. “I haven't been proven guilty in court yet, I was only brought into custody.” I continued.
“For f***s sake.” I heard her curse under her breath as she approached me, pulled out her phone and instructed. “Just five minutes.” And I nodded my head happily.
Taking a deep breath I dialed my brother's number. Although he has always hated me, treated me poorly, and has never acknowledged me as his blood. Just maybe when he hears the cry of his little sister and learns what has happened to her...Maybe he will fight for me and find a way to convince Simon to drop all the charges.
“Who is this?” Vince's rude voice came through the phone waking me up from my thoughts.
“It's me, Morgana.” I responded.
“Why would you call me with such a strange number?” He asked rudely.
“Ac-actually I am.. I was arrested, this is an officer's phone.”
“You were arrested? What did you do now?” He inquired, not sounding surprised.
“Nothing.” I began. “I was framed by Marilyn, Simon's ex-fiance. She tried to push me down the stairs but I moved away and then she fell. She is in a critical state in the hospital as we speak.”
“So what should I do with all this information?” He asked, unbothered about it.
“I need you to call Simon.”
“And tell him what? That someone who is at the brink of death in the hospital framed my sister. Listen to yourself speak Morgana, if you want to lie then maybe you should try and be good at it.” He snorted.
“But I am not lying, Vince. Trust me.” I pleaded, sniffing back my tears.
“Well I don't care if you aren't either way. It's for the best that you are now out of everyone's life with your bad luck.” He started. “Since I couldn't do it, Simon did, and I will be forever grateful to him. If that's all, I will be ending the call now. I have something important to do.” Vince concluded and ended the call immediately before I could say anything else.
I had no idea how many times I had cried since the day began, but I was crying once again. The police officer walked up to me and said somethings but I couldn't understand her, I could only see her mouth move but I couldn't hear anything she said.
Suddenly, the phone in my hand fell to the ground, the world around me began to spin and my hands felt numb. I tried to reach out for the cell bars hoping to use it as a support but before I could grab a hold of it, I blacked out.
When I woke up, my right hand was cuffed to a bed. I glanced around the unfamiliar room and discovered that it was a hospital.
The doors were suddenly pushed open and I shut my eyes instinctively. I could hear approaching footsteps, but I continued to feign sleep. “She is still asleep.” I heard a male voice say.
“What could be wrong with her?” A familiar female voice asked.
“She's pregnant!” The man replied and my eyes flung open when I heard his words.
