27 Jack ran down the stairs, gun in hand, and then pressed his back to the landing wall. He peered around the corner. No one was coming up the next flight. But the guards had to know they had been breached. Closing his eyes, Jack rested his head against the wall. “Okay,” he said. “All of you know your jobs. Get going.” His friends all stood on the stairs, watching him with wary expressions. They knew what he was planning. They knew the danger.
