He turned to go. The door swung open before he got anywhere near it, and a man with an assault rifle blocked his path. “In here!” Arin ducked out of sight. A few bullets whizzed past him, leaving holes in the gym’s back wall, but these guards were smart. They didn’t waste ammo shooting at nothing. Instead, he heard several men filing into the room. With his back to the wall, Arin shut his eyes and tried to control his breathing. He felt a drop of sweat rolling down his forehead. Well, Hunter, he thought. You wanted me to seek redemption.
