chapter seven

The inside of Lucas' room was very neat and tidy. Neater than mine even and i prided myself on being organised. This boy kept surprising me more and more.

"Aren't you girls going to sit? Lucas offered trying to lighten the awkward atmosphere. Goodness me! These boys actually thought something was going to go down. Something was going down alright but it definitely wasn't what they were expecting

"Nah" Kathy said. "Let's get down to it right away".

"To what?...." Pip chocked out.

God i wished i was filming this.

"The peace making silly".

Pip sighed, relieved. Alright. I had definitely misjudged the poor boy. He definitely was not a player. I could not say the same for Lucas though. He looked like a bad boy through and through.

"Do the honours, since it's your party". I collected the champagne and handed it to Lucas. He collected it from me, a skeptical look still on his face.

We were proceeding to step four. The critical stage. Lucas popped the champagne and i offered to turn it into the wine glasses Kathy had brought with her.

The plan was to d**g it with sleeping pills. Don't ask me how we got that cause i wont tell. It was a highly effective d**g which dissolved immediately it came in contact with liquid and very quick to action. Kathy's aunt was a nurse. So yeah, that's how we got it. Luckily i succeeded in popping the pill into the boys' drinks. It all seemed so easy. Too easy. ,

"So lets toast to our new found friendship" i said raising my glass as the boys did the same.

We all toasted. I and Kathy sipped our drinks. I counted the seconds as the boys brought the drinks to their lips. Pip unsuspectingly swallowed his in one quick gulp.

"Ooh!". He let out a breath. "This is one cool champagne". Yeah right. To me it was the cheapest champagne ever.

To my horror the glass stopped halfway to Lucas' lips. Please drink! Please drink or we are doomed. I prayed inwardly. I was certain Kathy was praying the same thing.

A knowing smirk appeared on his face then. He handed his drink to me.

"Why don't you drink mine?"

Oh my god! I knew it was too easy. "What!" i chocked out.

"Yeah Maury just take a sip from mine. It cant hurt can it?

He had totally caught on. Why was he so smart? Dread filled me immediately.

"What's going on? Pip asked, puzzled.

"Nothing Pip, i just want Maury here to take a sip of my drink".

To my surprise Kathy flung the glass out of my hand spilling some of its contents on the floor. She took a sip.

"See?....nothing! why? Thought we poisoned your drinks? Silly"

I stared wide eyed at her. Had she just drunk the drugged drink to save my a*s?

Lucas pulled the glass from her and handed it to me

"Common love, your turn".

Alright! We were definitely doomed! What's the worst that could happen? I thought immediately. We would be out of there before the d**g kicked in. Sure, we wont be able to carry out our revenge but there were other days. But boy did i have another think coming. I bravely took a sip of the drink to Lucas' surprise.

"There. I did it!". I handed the glass to him. "Your turn".

He stared skeptically at it for a while then downed the contents. Mission failed. Now time for damage repair. We had to get the hell out of there.

"OK" i said, heading for the door and pulling Kathy with me. "Its been fun and all but we've gotta catch our sleep. You know, busy day ahead".

I faked a yawn, turning the the door knob. Wow, very smooth Maury . I was such an i***t. If that wasn't suspicious what was? Even Pip caught on. Lucas motioned to Pip who immediately blocked our path.

"You girls only just got here. What's the hurry?" Pip said.

"Yeah Maury" Lucas said coming close. "What's the rush?

"Common its already late" i said, trying to go round Pip but he planted himself in front of the door.

My voice definitely sounded uneasy. God i hated my acted skills. I looked to Kathy for help.

"Yeah" Kathy added. "You know, wink wink"

What the... We were definitely going down. Kathy was an awful actor when she was nervous.

"Lock the door Pip". Lucas said suddenly. Wait what! "You girls are going nowhere". Alright! Kill me now!

There was no way we were getting out of this. Pip immediately locked the door and threw the key to Lucas who put it in his jean pocket.

"Nice try ladies" Pip said. "But it seems you're stuck with us".

Oh my God! Just then the room spun out of control. The tranquilizers or sleeping pill or what the hell was it anyway? was starting to kick in. Kathy let out a shriek as Pip fell to the floor in slumber. I turned in dread to Lucas whose eyes narrowed. Then realization dawned on his face.

"You drugged us?" He chocked out.

This definitely was a disaster. But hopefully i could make it out of here alive. I sighted the window immediately and made a dash for it but of course i wasn't fast enough. Lucas, although already feeling drowsy, had such good reflexes. He grabbed me by the waist slamming me into himself. He stumbled and we both fell on the bed. His arms still around me, he on top of me.

I pushed at his chest. "Get off! Get off"! Of course he didn't budge.

"The hell i will!" He seethed. "We're stuck here together".

My head clouded and i watched as Kathy tried to make her way to the window. She was already staggering.

"Kathy... help! I chocked out as i fought for breath with Lucas' weight on top of me.

"Sorry Maury" Kathy slurred. "But in this situation its every man for himself or girl..."

She tried to force the window open and succeeded in opening it, still swaying. I pinched Lucas and to my utmost relief he got off me to his side. His eye lids drooping in sleep. I watched as my eyes closed as Kathy tried to get out. She put her leg out the window but it was too late, the d**g had already set in. She dropped back into the room.

"I'd rather die here than fall to my death". She murmured as she made her way over to the door where Pip was, trying to force it open.

It was locked. Of course the d**g was already messing with her head. She fell to the floor and i finally closed my eyes and let the sleep envelop me. The four of us slept off soundly, oblivious to the party going on downstairs. Music blared loudly. Party unsupervised.

Soon the noise died down as Lucas' mostly drunk guests made their way home.

Mission. Total disaster!
