The plan was easy enough but first we needed the element of surprise. It was quite dark as we entered the Donnovans' yard. Several cars were parked outside.
Of course the boys would never suspect that we would show up at the party. Yes we weren't invited but we were definitely crashing the party.
Lucky for me, aunt Mary was out of town. She definitely would not have fancied my going to Lucas' party. I prayed none of the nosy neighbours saw me and reported me. But it was highly unlikely. It was dark after all.
Suddenly, the door burst open and two over excited boys raced out, definitely drunk. One of them jumped into the swimming pool. Just then Pip came to the door.
"Aww common Aaron!" He called to the boy in the pool. "Its not yet swim time".
Lucas appeared behind him. "What the hell man. I said no swimming!"
Then almost immediately they both noticed us, very surprised. They took in our casual outfits. Of course we weren't dressed for the party. We only came to end it.
Lucas' gaze raked over me then a grin broke out on his face. "You slay me love. Even dressed like this you look hot". He commented, startling me.
I blushed to the root of my hair and immediately composed myself. I did not think i looked hot. I probably looked like a tramp compared to him.
"You girls just couldn't stay away uh". Pip said flashing us a grin.
I turned to Kathy who was staring dumbstruck at them. Of course she was seeing them up close for the first time. The boys had that effect on people and sadly enough even me. I nudged her and she immediately composed myself.
Kathy, like me was not like most silly teenage girls. So what if she thought the boys were hot?
"Can a talk to you for a second?" She said to me, pulling me away from the boys' hearing.
"You didn't tell me they were fricking hot!"
I rolled my eyes. Kathy was a drama queen.
"Are they?" I feigned ignorance.
"Don't play dumb with me. I asked you a zillion times".
"So what? Doesn't change our plans"
"Sure doesn't". She seethed "That i***t. Calling me skinny!"
"You should hear the things they call me"
"Yeah, love. Its totally hot. Not skinny".
"It doesn't matter Kathy. We came here to get even remember?"
"Of course. But Maury, don't tell me you've had to look over at that work of art everyday?"
What the hell was she talking about?
"I'm already swooning. Lucas Donnovan is fricking.... drop dead gorgeous. Even that idiot.... whats his name again? Yeah Pip. What sort of name is that anyways. I'm seriously Mad at you. You should have told me so i would not look like a tramp in front of those boys..."
Kathy rattled on endlessly.
OK! I had to stop her. When Kathy got over excited she never stopped talking. I placed
my hand over her mouth to silence her.
"Enough! Lets proceed with the mission. We'll discuss how hot they are later".
The boys watched us from a distance, clearly amused.

Alright. We made it inside. First step successful. Immediately i stepped in, i was blown away. The Donnovans were filthy rich. Why the hell had i not been in here before?
The party wasn't too crowded, considering that there weren't even up to fifteen kids running around. A few were seniors in highschool. I knew Lucas was done with high school but i had no idea he had college friends.
Several of them stopped their partying to stare at us. There was just about five girls there. Not much. They looked pretty and were dressed decent enough. This definitely wasn't the usual rowdy highschool party. It surprised me. They all seemed like close friends of Lucas.
One of the girls, a stunning brunette, came over to put her arms around Lucas' waist.
Why the hell was she so pretty? Who the hell was she to him? His girlfriend? I warned myself immediately that it was no concern of mine who Lucas dated.
"Common Luke, aren't you going to introduce your friends?" She said smiling up at him.
"Reggie, the name's Lucas".
"Alright Lucas... who are they?" She motioned to us, beaming.
She seemed nice enough but i definitely wasn't buying that. It had to be a front. Why? She was so beautiful and looked rich and sophisticated. Of course she did not give a damn about us.
"Kk... Reggie... this is... ". His voice trailed off.
"Common Lucas, don't tell me you don't know their names?"
I inwardly seethed. Of course he did! Or had he gotten so used to calling me 'love' that he forgot my name?
"Its Maury" Pip chipped in. "And of course...." His gaze travelled to Kathy who had a scowl on her face. Like me, she wasn't finding this funny. "What was it again..." Pip pretended to think about it.
"Don't you dare call me that!" Kathy warned angrily.
He grinned sheepishly and dimples broke out on his face, exposing perfectly white teeth. Kathy stared transfixed for a moment then immediately composed herself.
"That's Kathy" Pip said.
Kathy let out an audible sigh. I had no idea she had been holding her breath. Reggie watched this exchange, an amused expression on her face. I had no idea what was going through her head. Just then she was called by a boy in the party and she immediately got out of Lucas' hold, to my relief.
Wait a minute? Why the hell was i relieved? I warned myself not to think about it.
"Sorry about that". Lucas grinned. "Forgot your names for a second".
"You sure did". I snorted sarcastically. "Who the hell was that? Your girlfriend?"
I hated myself for asking immediately. An amused smirk came on Lucas' face.
"Why? You jealous?"
"What? Yeah right". I snorted.
"Common that's just Reggie, Lucas' cousin". Pip said. "She's hot right?"
Lucas palmed him on the head.
"Cousin uh.. " I snorted, unconvinced. "That's what they all say. You both were definitely cozy".
Lucas exchanged mock surprised looks with Pip and they both roared with laughter.
"You know love... for a moment there i thought you had a thing for me". Lucas said trying to catch his breath.
I turned away from him immediately so he would not see my blush.
"Those idiots". Kathy said next to me as we moved away from the laughing boys.
"We need to move on to the next step". I said immediately.
"Yeah". Kathy agreed. "The sooner we're out of here the better".
Just then a girl yelled for a game of 'truth or dare' and several of the others consented to it. They started to gather round.
Reggie came to pull Lucas and Pip. "Common boys, join us".
"Nah... i'll pass". Pip said immediately.
"Me too". Lucas said. Then his gaze settled on me. "Unless of course Maury plays too".
Nah uh! not on my life!
"No thank you. I'll pass". I said avoiding the mischievous glint in his eyes.
"What're you scared of love? Afraid they'll ask us to kiss?"
I blushed to root of my hair. How the hell had he come to that conclusion? He of course, much to my horror noticed my blush.
"Its so cute when you blush love. What? Did thoughts of kissing me actually cross your mind?" He added, feigning surprise.

"In your dreams", i snorted.
"And yours too".
The others watched this exchange, clearly amused.
"Nah....no truth or dare...swim time!" A drunk boy yelled.
"Yeah!" They all yelled and rushed out of the house, leaving only Kathy and i in the house.
This was a favourable turn of event. We had the time to plan.
"Ready?" Kathy asked, bringing out the bottle of champagne from her strap bag.
"As ready as can be".
We both laughed evilly. A bit too "In your dreams", i snorted.
"And yours too".
