Chapter One
My name is Princess. Being the only child of my parents, I was home schooled and properly monitored throughout my childhood. I had no real friends and spent a vast majority of my time outside the real world. I had no idea of what it felt like to be outside and free. Over the years, I was gradually getting fed up with my daily routine. Life didn't have any real meaning for me. As I grew older, I started sneaking out of the house to attend parties with my neighbors Joe and Meghan. Moreover, we were all teens but they were more exposed than I was. I was eager to start attending high school because it was in a different state and it would offer me the opportunity to explore life freely. When I finally clocked sixteen, I penned my application to one of the most prestigious schools in the country. I was very eager to leave and I kept checking my mail daily. As the weeks went by, I became more frustrated because I wasn't getting any meaningful response from the school. One morning, I decided to check the mail again. As soon as I found my application letter, I was so excited. I was due to resume in September, so I started preparing. I made a request to my parents to get me a phone because I was only making use of the general home PC. As soon as they got me the phone, I became more comfortable and happy because I had a new life, which was the internet. Months went by and finally it was September. Even if I was so eager to leave home at first, I was very sad when the train started heading towards the north. I plugged in my earphones and tears were dripping down my face. After about four hours, we got to our destination. The school was beautiful and full of trees. I walked down the blocks and I finally got to my assigned room where I met my roommate, Diana. She was fair, tall and gorgeous. We had a chat and I instantly liked her personality. That night, she showed me around school and I had a great time. When it was getting very late, we headed to the room to sleep. The next day, I woke up very early because I was very anxious to meet my new classmates. My first day at school was not as I anticipated because I noticed that everybody in the class had their group of friends. When the day was over, I headed back to my room to rest. Getting to the door of the room, I heard a strange voice in my room. I opened the door out of curiosity and I saw my friend in a romantic position with a stranger. She welcomed me and introduced me to the stranger whose name was Marcus. He was very tall and muscular. I got down to sleep and they continued talking and laughing. Things got really intense. I was quite surprised because they were not worried about my presence in the room. I plugged in my earphones. While listening to a sad song, I remembered my family and how well I missed them. This made me really sad. After some hours, my roommate woke me up to prepare for a party that she would be attending. I was reluctant to go at first, but she encouraged me. As we got to the party, we met some of her friends. She introduced me to them and we headed out to dance. I wasn't used to these sort of things because I was more like an inrovert. As they started dancing, I distanced myself because I was shy. I went back and I was standing alone. After some minutes, I wished that I had remained in my room because I wasn't really doing anything at the party and most of the people that attended the party were busy with their lovers. As I turned to signal my roommate that I would love to leave, I noticed that a guy was sitting alone and staring at me. When we both made eye to eye contact, he smiled and I reluctantly smiled back. I guess that increased his confidence as he gradually started walking towards me. HIM: I guess you are new here ? ME: Yes i am HIM: well, my name is Jones and I would love to be your friend if you don't mind. ME: That's fine. My name is Princess HIM: You're actually a Princess. Would you like to drink? ME: yeah sure We had some decent conversations while drinking, then Diana, my roommate, interrupted. Princess, I've been looking for you. It's time for us to leave. I got up and told Jones goodbye. He asked, Would I ever see you again?Where can I find you? Can I at least get your number? I winked and told him to find me. We got back to our room, turned off the lights and it was time to sleep. The next morning, we had our breakfast and it was time to leave for school. I got to my class and was introduced as the new student by the head teacher. I started receiving warm receptions from my classmates. I was approached by two girls, Stella and Rose. And they asked me to be their friend. I was excited because I was finally getting to know more people. As soon as it was past three, we headed out because it was time to close. I was eager to get back to the room because I wanted to tell Diana how my day went. I was so excited that I missed the entrance of the apartment. When I eventually found the entrance, I bumped into the room and I happily told Diana how my day went. She made dinner and we sat down to eat. While eating, Diana asked," Did he find you? I responded, who? Diana replied, the guy at the party yesterday. I responded, isn't it too early? She smiled. After some days, I didn't see or hear from Jones. I was angry with myself for not giving him my contact atleast. I sneaked out to look for him at the party venue during the weekend, but I couldn't find him. Getting back to the apartment, Diana's boyfriend, Marcus, was in the room. We exchanged pleasantries and I jumped on my bed. I kept feeling bad and thinking. Eventually, I slept off. Months went by and the semester examination was fast approaching. One fateful day, as I was heading out of class with my new friends Stella and Rose, a stranger covered my eyes. I asked, Who's this please? The person responded, guess who? I responded," Jones? The stranger opened my eyes and I found out that it was Diana. I was instantly sad and asked her how she found me. She responded," I have my ways and I know almost everyone here. I was also amazed that my new friends from my class recognized her. When we were on our way to our room, I asked, you said you know everyone here, and you don't know Jones? She didnt respond. I kept wondering why she didn't respond. But I didnt ask her again. When we got to the room, I made some pancakes and we ate. Diana informed me that there was a party later that night. But I told her that I would prefer to stay in the room. When she noticed that I was reluctant to go, she said "maybe Jones will be there tonight." I guess she had noticed that I was eager to see Jones, so giving me such an assurance would compel me to go. I eventually agreed and we got dressed and we headed out. When we got to the party, the population was bigger than it normally used to be, at least for the times that I have attended. We both sat down and we had some non-alcoholic drinks. When I turned to ask her about her plans for the night, she got up to answer a call on her phone. She couldn't hear the caller because the sound of the music was very loud, so she stepped out to answer the call. She came back with Marcus. I guess he was the caller. They both stepped into the ring and I was alone once again. I was furious with myself for coming out and doing nothing. I was just watching couples enjoying themselves and no one approached me. After about thirty minutes, I stepped out of the party sadly because I didn't find Jones, and he was the reason why I came out. When I got to the room, I opened one of my books and started reading because the semester exam was fast approaching. After about an hour, Diana and Marcus stepped in. They were both drunk and they started cuddling. I guess they didnt even care if someone was there because they were drunk. Things got intimate and I plugged in my earphones as I tried to sleep. Lights out. The next morning, I got up and prepared myself for school, but they were both still sleeping. When I got to class, last night's party was the subject of the day. Everyone was talking, but I had nothing to say because it was a devastating day for me. I was called out when classes were on because I was told that I had some visitors. I was curious because I barely had people who would visit me. Getting to the visitors lodge, I saw my parents. I was so excited and my mood was uplifted because it'd been a long time since I saw them. I gave them a warm hug as we exchanged pleasantries. We talked for some minutes and I assured them that I was fine here. When they were about to leave, they gave me some money and groceries. I escorted them to the gate and they left. Getting back to class, I was told that we would have a test before closing. I was terrified because I hadn't prepared. I started preparing, but as soon as I was making progress, the other teacher came in. He taught us for two hours and it was time for a break. I used my break period to study because I was scared of failing. When the break was over, I sat down because the next teacher had arrived. When he was teaching, I was busy reading. He noticed that I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying, so, he asked me to stand up. He eventually asked me some questions but I couldn't answer because my attention was divided. He asked me to sit down and listen to what he was saying. His full focus was on me, so I couldn't study. After he left the class, it was already time for the test. The teacher walked in and shared some question papers. Moreover, this was my first time writing a real test at school. When I saw the questions I was devastated because I didn't read that part that was used. I sat down for minutes and I was trying to answer the questions without having the opportunity to speak to my classmates. We were told to submit our papers and I had barely written anything. I was angry and sad at the same time. When it was announced that the day's work was over, I hurriedly walked down the stairs and I was fuming. While walking to my room, someone tapped me from behind. As I turned back to react angrily, I found out that it was Jones. I tried to hide my excitement but I couldn't. We exchanged pleasantries and I asked him what happened to him because I had been searching for him. He told me that he was sick and he went home for treatment. As we walked along the road we finally exchanged our phone numbers.
