CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE Is this what it feels like? Walking toward the light? The blinding luminosity played tricks with her senses. Shapes, images came and went but nothing definite materialized. Eva had no idea if she was moving forward or backward. There was a chill in this place, yet at this instant, in this moment between worlds, she had the feeling she was being watched, and the watcher was not happy to see her.
