His Innocent Bride

Rose Adams “Where the hell are you b***h, here now!” I heard my cousin Brittany yelling while I was mopping the floor. It's time for another punishment. She is the princess of the house. she gets whatever she wants. I went to her room and saw she was wearing quite an expensive dress and there was a stain on it. When she saw me, she came towards me and slapped me on the face multiple times. “You w***e, how dare you touch my dress? How come there is a stain on this dress, tell me now” she shouted at me. I don’t know much about branded clothes. I get to wear her old clothes which she throws away. “I… I d-don’t k-know, Mam. “ I told her while stuttering. Her face had an evil smirk, which meant it wouldn’t end well for me. She pulled my hair and pushed me on the floor. My hand collided with the table which had a flower vase on it and it fell to the ground and crashed into pieces. When I tried to get up some pieces pierced into my palm and it started to bleed. I hissed with the pain and tears started falling from my eyes. She took a few steps toward me. “b***h you can never afford to have such a dress even if you sell yourself,” she told me showing my worth. “ Now clean this s**t and get the hell out of here. Don’t show me your ugly face “ she yelled at me. I picked myself up and left the room. I removed those pieces of glass from my palm and after struggling for some time I bandaged it and cleaned her room. It was tough to work with an injured palm. For today, I’ll try not to show her my face. I don’t want to gain her attention till my hand heals a little bit because I know, to vent out her anger, she will hurt my already injured hand. My name is Rose Adams, and I’m 20 years old. When I was ten years old, my parents died in a car accident. I live with my cousins Brittany and Rony, my maternal aunt Christina, and her husband James. After my parents' death, they shifted to my home. I live in the store room of my home, which has a bed with an old mattress. After school, I never got to study further. I tried to escape from here many times but always got caught. I’m not allowed to go out alone. I was not even allowed to talk to others while I was in school because my aunt threatened to punish me badly and not give me any food for three days. I tried once and the consequences were really bad. When she is angry, I have to sleep on an empty stomach. I don’t know why my aunt and her family hate me so much. I have never done anything bad to them. I met my aunt for the first time after my parents' accident. Even though she is my aunt, I always felt a deep hate for me in her eyes from the first day. The way James looks at me, I don’t like it. I feel uncomfortable around him, so I always work without drawing his attention when he is around. I try not to show my face. James and Christina manage my father's company, and I can’t claim my father's property till I’m twenty-one. My life couldn’t be worse as my twenty-first birthday will be in the next ten months. I have to escape from here before that. They are getting worse day by day. They can’t kill me because they know if anything happens to me, the whole inheritance will go into trust. That’s why they want me to sign the papers, and I know other than killing me, they can go to any extent. Brittany’s birthday party will be held next week, and I have to find a way to escape during that time only. I have to work without gaining any attention from Brittany’s friends. If they saw me, then it would be impossible to get out of here. I don’t know anyone who can help me besides Aunt Anny, my father’s assistant. I have to find her. After my parent’s death, she gave me her contact number in case I needed her, but I never saw her after my parents' funeral. I don’t know what I’m going to do after getting out of here because I don’t have money or a phone. My first goal is to get out of here.
