~Aliyah’s POV~
His words shook me to the core. That person was again back in my clan… Though it was good that nobody from my pack joined forces with him, but others…
What did he get out of this? Why did he choose to betray us for a vampire? And most importantly, who was it?
Ever since I turned eighteen, we have chosen to invite only our closest allies to our parties. Just a few packs who our parents trust with their lives. No one else.
My safety wasn’t a joke; only four packs knew I was a hybrid. And all of them have been our allies even before I was born.
So, who was this person whom we trusted blindly pushed me into the hands of the monster?
Whoever it was, he or she must be making my family run in circles in search of me.
As long as the traitor knows all about what's happening in my pack, my family would never be able to reach me.
I really want to ask this loud, but the cloth around my mouth won’t let me.
“Put the cloth aside, I want to hear her screams,” The female vampire said.
Thanks, that’s what I was looking for right now.
A relieved breath came out of my mouth, and I wasted no time in asking the question.
“What did you offer him in my exchange?”
Suddenly, I felt a hit on my face, and I fell to the ground.
Ahh… Oh god, what the heck?
“Did I give you permission to talk?”
Her yell ached my ears, but I chose to avoid it.
My eyes were fixed on my mate, who looked unfazed by her actions. My head hit the ground; I was lying there tied in ropes with my hands behind my back and legs gripping each other, but he didn’t look affected by it at all.
He was just standing there with a straight face, boring eyes as if none of this excited him.
But I knew the truth. Every single hit that I was taking brought immense joy to his non-beating heart.
As if it brought his dead cousin back to life who put his hands on me.
This was his reality.
His people, his cousin eyes me like a piece of meat, tries to touch me in ways that nobody else, but my mate was allowed... His people hit me like a punching bag, making me bleed as if water was running through my veins while he...
He enjoyed every single bit of it. Calm and composed as if there was no connection between us. As if we weren't born for each other.
I wish there weren't any. All these hits and pain would have been physical only, not emotional torment.
The picture that I had in my heart of my mate was shattered into a million pieces. He wasn’t the one for me to protect and keep me safe till my last breath, instead, he was the one making sure I take my last breath through his hands.
Water flowed out of my eyes, not because my head was aching, but because my heart was crying in agony.
My heart was heavy. There was a silent pain that was making me lose my breath. I didn’t know if it was the pain of rejection or the pain of the realisation that I would never be happy with the one who was born for me, but one thing I have concluded is that he would be my death.
And he would enjoy every single moment of it. By him or someone else... He wanted to see me suffer till I take my last breath.
I turned my gaze away from him and shut my eyes hard, I will make everything between us even. I don’t know how and when, but I will.
I wasn't someone who loved to fight or avenge, but he has broken my heart... Shattered the dream of loving and a perfect life, and gave me scars that'll never heal.
I never thought I would say this about my mate but... he will suffer for his actions. And by my hands. No one else.
The female vampire grabbed my hair and made me sit back, but in the centre of the room. She didn’t want me to feel the comfort of their thick brick walls against my back.
Her nails started to dig into my shoulders, but I refused to cry. I won’t cry. I won’t yell. I won’t give her the satisfaction she was looking for.
Her nails dug deeper into my shoulders, piercing my flesh so deeply that I felt like she would end up slicing my nerves.
I shut my eyes, and forcing a smile on my face, I bit my tongue.
I won't cry. I won't give her what she is looking for.
“Stop, it’s working,” My pathetic mate’s voice rang in my ears.
“Then I should do more,” The bitchy vampire said.
Her nails went straight into my bones, and I bit my lip hard. I won’t scream, I won’t scream, I won’t scream!
“Scream, b***h! Beg me to stop!” She yelled.
I shook my head and gasped, “I… Won’t…”
“You-“
“Enough, Michelle. Step away from her,” Louis said.
I scoffed, he f*****g can’t pretend it affected him in any way. Because I know it didn’t.
She let go of my shoulder, and I gasped. Trying to recover from the pain that she caused me. Her nails were in my shoulder bones, digging so bad that I had blood running down my shoulders to my waist.
It felt like my bones were shattered, sliced with a knife, but… I couldn’t even caress the wound that was making my heart and body cry out.
“She is tough,” I heard the witch’s voice, and I chuckled, “I am a daughter and niece of survivors. Go, learn some about Hailey Knight and Serena Mathew Black, and you will know it all. And when you do it, remember what happened to Carter Hayes and Zedr Bishop.”
I noticed the terror in the witch's eyes. These vampires may not know any of it, but she knows the end... Still, she wasn't brainy enough to tell them to step back.
I took my gaze to the female vampire named b***h, Michelle, and smirked, “You can kill me, but... You can’t break me.”
Her nose flared in anger, and her eyes turned red. She stepped in my direction again, but Louis called her back and took her out with him.
She was enraged that he stopped her, but she couldn’t defy or argue with him. It’s like… His command worked on every single vampire here. First, those two, and now her.
The other two vampires gazed at me with smirks on their faces, and the grey-eyed one said, “You will make our time very amazing here.”
“Nobody was able to stand like that in front of Mother before,” the green-eyed one chuckled.
Uh, what? Mother?
“Mother?” I whispered.
“Yeah… Just some advice, give her what she wants, or she will break your bones, let them heal, and then break your bones again. She loves to make her prey suffer till they lose their lives,” The grey-eyed one said with a proud smile on his face.
I don’t give a damn about her but…
“Who is your father?”
I couldn’t help but ask. I just… It shouldn’t be what I think.
Their eyes...
No...
It shouldn't be.
The green-eyed one shrugged and with a bright smile on his face, he said, “Who else? The one and only, the vampire prince, Louis Allen.”
