~Louis’s POV~
I don’t feel like closing my eyes. Not even for a second.
It’s been two days since I last visited her, but still, she has been clouding my head like never before. It feels like the little smirk of hers has taken a permanent seat in my head.
Her bravery, resilience, and strength… This all has equipped my mind so badly that I can’t seem to take my mind off her cocky smirk that she gave to Michelle.
Apart from being beautiful, she looked challenging and vicious for a vampire for the first time since she had ever come here.
Her aura was already powerful, threatening, and her eyes were proud when she shocked me with her elemental powers, but this time her voice and eyes were cocky, tough, and witty. Exactly what I like.
But…
I was not sure of the reason behind her long sleep of two days. She didn’t lose so much blood, she wasn’t tried, nor anyone tried to hurt her again, but still, she has been sleeping for more than forty-eight hours.
Michelle’s relationship with Dorian and Adrian couldn’t be this shocking for her that she was out for two days. Or maybe… I sighed; it’s been seven days since she was here, and we have given her nothing to eat. The little princess was starving.
But I’m glad I have figured out a way for Clark and Hilda to avenge Abel’s death. For sure, Damien Knight must be feeling the pain of his sister taking every hit, but the intensity won’t be as high as when it’s his mate in place of his sister.
And for that, I’ll make sure we abduct his mate when she is marked. He will die thousands of times a day when her smooth skin will be punctured by ten vampires at the same time.
He'll feel worse pain than Clark and Hilda when she suffers in our hands and he'll never be able to get her out.
He will not be able to escape the pain without rejecting her. And rejecting her will never be an option for him. To reject her, he'll need to see her and that will never happen.
And this will go on and on, until he chooses to end his life on his own.
It’s just that I have to wait for that punk to meet his mate and let Aliyah go. She can’t stay here. Not when she is my… Nevermind.
I’ll make Mable wipe her memories and then send her back to her pack. She can’t remember my place, people, events that happened here with her, and most importantly, me. She has to forget everything.
I opened the refrigerator and pulled a bottle filled with blood out of it. Though I drink blood fresh from the vein, I still sometimes drink from the storage and keep ordering more.
The werewolves shouldn’t know that we aren’t only drinking blood from the criminals or the blood bags, but from the humans as well. They should know what they want to know.
Taking in a shaky breath, I forced myself to sit on the couch. My hands trembled around the glass as I brought it to my lips. The first sip tasted normal… but only for a second.
Something was wrong.
The blood tasted normal, but only for a few seconds.
A sudden burn ripped down my throat and my eyes widened as heat exploded inside my chest, spreading like wildfire under my skin. It felt like I had swallowed acid.
I choked, gagging, and the next second the blood came back up, splattering across the floor. The glass bottle slipped from my hands and shattered.
I collapsed to my knees, clutching my stomach as a violent burn tore through my every vein, every muscle, and every breath.
"W-what...?" I could barely hear myself.
My throat felt raw, scraped from the inside. My heartbeat pounded so hard it hurt.
The heat in every single one of my nerves was rising with every second passing and travelling from head to heart. My heart… It was my heart.
My heart had never beaten; I don’t know what it’s like to feel anything in there, but today it was burning and throbbing with pain. My chest was moving up and down heavily, but I couldn’t breathe. It was just movements of my chest, no air was passing in and out of my body.
I growled. What the f**k was wrong with me?
I want to rip my heart out. It hurts so bad that if I didn’t do anything right away, I would lose it.
I dig my hands into my chest; I can’t take it anymore. The burn in my heart was killing me. I would prefer to die by my own hands rather than some assholes infected blood.
My cheeks started to get wet, and I hissed. Blood was coming out of my eyes. But how the f**k was that possible?
I can’t cry! That’s not me!
My hand reached my heart while my bloody tears reached my neck. I feel… I don’t know why I feel like that, but I feel like I’m being cheated on. By my body, people, or that blood… I don’t know by whom, but I feel like I was cheated.
The feeling of being betrayed consumed me as a whole, and my heart felt like it was bleeding. It… It was bleeding and... Beating… But in pain.
“Dad! What is wrong with you!”
Dorian pulled my hand out of my chest and said something, but I couldn’t focus on any of his words. My mind was numb. I could only see Aliyah’s face in my mind.
Aliyah…
Was something wrong with her?
My heart throbbed more as her face kept flashing in front of my eyes, and I sprinted out of the room, straight to her room.
The door flew open, and my eyes widened. Leaving me in shock and a state that I never expected to see or be in.

~Third Person’s POV~
Louis cared for Aliyah for the first time. He felt his dead heart beating for the first time, though he was in pain, which was tearing him apart; still, he rushed to save her.
But he wasn’t ready to face the truth…
Aliyah was pinned against the wall by Samuel. Her hands were still tied, but they were above her head, held tightly by Samuel. His one hand was holding her wrists while his other hand was wrapped around her waist, touching her body, not allowing even the air to pass between them.
His lips were moving roughly against her soft lips, tasting and sucking the essence of the hybrid he was holding in his arms.
He was biting her lips in between, and his every bite on her lips made Louis’s lips burn, and he wanted to wipe them from his face.
With the ache in his heart, body, and lips increasing with every passing second, Louis felt as if his mind would explode.
Rage consumed him.
She was his… Nobody else was allowed to touch her but him.
His eyes were red, while his veins threatened to pop out from his arms and neck. The darkness surrounded his head, and in a swift motion, he threw Samuel across the room with a growl leaving his mouth.
“How dare you touch her!”
His voice boomed in the whole castle, making every single vampire halt in their tracks, and their breath getting stuck in their throat. His people knew his thundering voice meant destruction, but they weren’t sure who would be turned into ashes soon.
“What is wrong with you?” Samuel asked while standing back.
Samuel’s words triggered the monster inside Louis, and without thinking that he was his half-brother, Louis dug his hands into his chest and started squeezing his heart.
Samuel lost his breath, and his eyes went wide. He was about to die when Dorian and Adrian forcefully but carefully pulled Louis back and took him a few inches away from Samuel.
“What are you doing? He is your brother!”
Michelle yelled while looking after Samuel, who was healing from the pain, gash, and experience that his younger brother gave him.
Louis pounced on him again, pushing his sons back, but they were quick to get hold of him, which made Louis furious, and he growled at them. His eyes were in the deepest shade of red and black veins appeared everywhere on his body. Face, neck, arms, and even legs.
“Dad…” Dorian and Adrian whispered.
Their whispers and stunned faces did pull some string of sense in his mind, but they weren’t enough. He still couldn’t get the image of Samuel hovering his only mate out of his mind.
His fangs were lengthening, and his veins were getting darker with every breath that he was taking. Terrified Dorain, Adrian, and Michelle quickly took Samuel out of the room and disappeared from Louis’s sight.
Meanwhile, Aliyah was shaking. She didn’t know that her one action would lead to consequences that she didn’t think existed.
She has seen raging vampires earlier, but none of them match the monstrous level that she just witnessed.
She wanted to make him feel the same pain, but failed to consider that her action would come with a reaction.
Her breaths were uneven while her hands were sweaty, tightly clasped against each other. Her toes were curled while her teeth held her lower lip tightly, trying to erase the feel of Samuel’s lip and teeth.
She has never seen anyone this angry before. No matter what the situation was, the men in her family made sure not to expose her to torture and violence, as she was a sensitive child. She was the only one in her family who never found happiness and peace in torture, but her mate… He was the opposite of her.
His stiff body and dark veins on his arms made Aliyah swallow the lump in her throat hard, and she dared not make a sound.
He slowly turned around, giving her the chills in her spine with his blood red eyes and fangs coming out of his mouth. He appeared in front of her in a flash and ripped the ropes from her hands and legs.
“Run. Run as fast as you can and as far as you can. If I find you, you will shed tears of blood.”
Once again, his words pierced her heart, but she knew he wasn’t playing around.
"I-"
"RUN!" Louis yelled which made her jump in terror.
“You... You will win,” She said with tears pooling in her eyes.
He took a threatening step forward and looked straight into her eyes, “Run. Now. If you don’t, I’ll kill your dearest brother.”
Aliyah’s eyes widened at the threat, and after knowing that Samuel was his brother, but still wasn’t shown mercy, she ran, but to save Damien’s life.
She knew she couldn’t win.
This was his place, and he knew every way out of his huge, dark castle. He will find her, and when he does, she will not even have seconds to explain why this happened.
