Monica and Reggie were allowed to see each other during the day but it was under supervision. Monica was given a job of being the pack's seamstress. Reggie was given the job of being delta
He was still demoted from being beta. Monica and Reggie were able to keep in contact with each other. They were like a pair of love-struck teenagers that texted each other. Every time they met up for thier meals, it was at the pack house. They could barely hold themselves together when they saw each other. Monica and Reggie almost forgot to eat as they were both were too busy looking at each other. They managed to sneak quick kisses and brief touches. It sent a shiver of excitement in them both, whenever they touched. Reggie started to smell Monica differently now. It had been inviting to him before but now it mixed with a new fragrance. Monica was almost intoxicating to him now. Reggie knew once they were together, he wasn't going to stop mating with her. Monica was also feeling different too. Her mark from Reggie almost tingled, every time they nearly touched. She could feel him around without seeing him. She was wondering what was happening to her but she liked the way she felt.
Monica and Reggie were only seperated for nearly a week but it felt like months. They couldn't wait until they could be together. Everyone in the pack were able to accept that they were mates. Alyssa was the only one that wasn't happy about it. She was always in an angry mood and tried to get her brother to change his mind about them. But he was too concerned about the planned attack and the packs future. The time finally came and the Alpha called them to his office for a final briefing.
"Are we sure about the plan?" the beta asked the Alpha.
"Yes, Monica goes in as a hunter and brings you and Baldrick, Reggie" the Alpha told him.
"Who will find the Alpha Barron once the cameras are down?" the beta asked the Alpha.
"It needs to be a werewolf; they can pick up his scent. We can keep in contact by mind link. Monica will have to be with Reggie so he can keep in contact with us and her. We all have to be prepared and not being caught, we leave and meet at the back up point. Don't stop until you get there. If we fail at our rescue, we will have to tell the royal werewolves about it. That's something I wish to avoid. Monica, I believe you won't betray Reggie but if you betray this pack, you will be killed. That will kill Reggie as you are now both mates" the Alpha told them.
"We are now mates, is that because we have kept our part of the deal?" Monica asked Reggie.
"No, it's because we are second chance mates" Reggie told her.
Monica smiled; she now knew why thier bond had strengthened. Reggie smiled too; Monica was his second chance mate. Everyone got ready for the trip that morning. They had rented a truck. Reggie and the beta put on fake shackles, so that they could go into the werewolf's fighters death arena with Monica. She wore a scarf around her neck to hide her mark. She was a little bit nervous; she didn't want to fail the Alpha. She didn't want her and Reggie to be killed. The Alpha drove the truck to the werewolf's fighters death arena. Reggie held Monica in the back to calm her nerves. He was a little bit nervous coming back here. He had been warned by the Alpha Barron himself that if he did, he would be killed. The Alpha Barron didn't want to kill him but the hunters did. The drive went by quickly. They arrived before the werewolf's fighters death arena was closed to the public so they had to wait. The arena was closed and seemed like it was deserted. They still waited for the back entrance to open. It started to get dark and they were worried that there was no werewolf's fighter death matches on that night.
"Are you sure it's tonight, Monica?" the Alpha shouted to her from the front of the truck.
"Yes, unless they changed it. I don't think it would matter being the night after the full moon" Monica answered.
The Alpha heard her even though it was a large truck. There were also some pack warriors and a doctor, in case there were injured werewolves, by anything silver. The group waited until it was completely dark. They were starting to get impatient. Then they saw the back entrance open and they were able to enter the carpark. Monica had given them a password to use and it was still current. They parked the truck and Monica got out with a shackled Reggie and beta.
"Remember, don't betray me, Monica. We must not fail this mission, it's important for the pack's future" the Alpha growled low at her.
"Yes, Alpha" she whispered in case any hunters heard her.
The Alpha heard and nodded to both Reggie and the beta. They were communicating by mind link. Monica pretended to lead Reggie and the beta. She saw a few hunters approach her.
"Two werewolves, they might be too much for you to handle" a hunter told her and attempted to take one from her.
"I can manage, they have both been drugged and they have silver shackles on" Monica insisted.
Reggie was about to growl at the hunter but she calmed him.
"That one looks ready to fight" the hunter told her.
"Yes, and I would rather it fights in the werewolf's fighters death arena then right now" Monica told the hunter.
The hunter agreed and left her alone. Monica led the werewolves up to the guards.
"Monica Woodsman, I've come in my father's place. These two are to be entered into the werewolf's fighters death arena" Monica told them.
"Yes, we know your father. Didn't think he was going to be here. I thought he was dead" one of the guards told her.
"He is, that's why I'm here. I'm taking over his place" Monica told them.
The guards nodded and let her through. They went down towards the holding cells. There were already some werewolves there, waiting for the fighting to start.
"This is as far as I can go, the monitors are all over. I don't know where they hold the champion" Monica whispered to Reggie. He mind-linked to the rest of the pack.
"Monica, you are to stand guard, while beta Benjamin goes looking for the camera room" Reggie told them. Betta Benjamin knew already by mind link.
Betta Benjamin went looking for the camera room. He had removed his shackles and went looking. Monica stayed while Reggie looked around. He was trying to see away to free the
other werewolves.
"Monica, we should help free them, we can do it while Betta Benjamin finds the Alpha Barron" Reggie suggested to Monica.
"We can't. That's not going to help the mission. There isn't enough of us to free them and get the Alpha Barron. I'm sorry, Reggie. I wish we could" Monica told him.
Reggie didn't answer her. He seemed to be listening to someone.
"The Alpha says you're right. We have to stick with our mission, first. We might be able to free them another time" Reggie told her.
They waited in silence. They both felt bad that they couldn't free the other werewolves. It got closer to the time that the first death match was starting. The hunters started bringing in more werewolves and taking out a few.
