"That's my girl" Max smiled at his daughter. He believed that she was going to make a great hunter. Monica believed that she would hate being a hunter. She waited and listened as the meeting took place. There were a few hunters that she knew and a few from nearby towns. They had been monitoring the lands where there were known to be werewolves. "Welcome, everyone. This my daughter Monica. She wants to learn about being a hunter" Max told them. "Monica, it's great to know you want to be a hunter" a young man told her. He was the son of another hunter. "Thankyou, Declan" Monica told him. Declan smiled at her. She knew he would ask her father to have her as a wife. He had already asked her if she wanted to marry him. She had replied she wasn't ready yet, to get married. At the time she wasn't ready but she had let him promise her that he would wait until she was. Declan had kissed her and it had been soft and tender. She compared his kiss to Reggie's kiss. His had been so deep and loving, she now wanted Reggie more. Monica sat listening to the rest of the meeting in silence. "Now, we know that the land borders here, we could set up an ambush here but that might alert the others. How about we set up a trap and leave thier wolf as bait. Then when we see the Alpha, we ambush them" Max suggested to the other hunters. "Yes, that could work but what about the time, this weekend is the werewolf's fighters death arena. We should wait so we can enter it and bet to win. We can't set up an ambush if we want to win at the death arena" Declan's father, Devin told them. "Yes, we will hold off our plan until then. It's not like the werewolf's will know our plan, they still won't know what hit them, until it's too late" Max sneered. The other hunters laughed and Monica felt worried. She hoped her father wouldn't put Reggie in the death arena. "Alright, we will meet again after the death arena fights, then we will prepare to attack" Max told them. The other hunters agreed. Monica waited until they left then when went over to the map and took it. "Are you pleased with the plan?" Max asked her. "Yes, I want to keep this until we go ahead with the plan" Monica lied. "My little girl is a keen hunter" Max smiled at her. "Yes, daddy" Monica smiled a fake smile back. Max looked over his selection of werewolves. They were half starved and drugged. He noticed that Reggie, his latest looked strong and alert. He wondered if he could put the youngest and untrained in the death arena. Out of all the werewolves he seemed likely to win. Max got the cage and cattle prod ready. "What are you doing with Reggie?" Monica asked her father. "I'm going to enter him into the werewolf's fighters death arena" Max told her. "But he's not trained and he's still young" Monica protested. "I think you have kept him on a low dose of wolfsbane and have given him extra food. He looks like he will stand a better chance at winning then the rest of the werewolves" Max stated. "But please, daddy. I don't want Reggie to go to the death arena. He might die" Monica protested. "Don't give that thing a name. It shouldn't matter if he dies, one less werewolf. I can always replace it" Max yelled at her. Monica watched as her father took Reggie forcefully from his cell and into the truck. Reggie looked at Monica with concern. He didn't want to fight other werewolves but he had to, to survive. He had wished Monica could have given him a key for his shackles. He would break free of them and escape. The news about the planned attack on his pack home lands also concerned him. If only he was able to warn them. Now he had to hope that he wasn't put up against the werewolf that was the killing champion. It would be from a powerful pack and experienced in fighting. The training skills would be both human and wolf. Reggie had only trained as a human, he had little training as a wolf. Reggie wondered how many fights he would have to win to get out of the arena alive. "Daddy, can I go with you to the werewolf's fighters death arena?" Monica asked him. "If you promise to stay away from the werewolf, we don't want it distracted by you favouring it" Max told her. "I promise, daddy" Monica told him but wished she could stop Reggie from fighting. Reggie was locked in the cage and hidden inside the truck. Monica sat up front with her father. They drove towards the death arena that was a few hours away. Monica was so stressed by what was going to happen that she didn't realise that they had stopped for a break. "We will have plenty of time before it begins. We can have dinner and rest before tonight" Max suggested. "Yes, we can do that, daddy" Monica told him. She looked towards the back of the truck where Reggie was. "The werewolf should be fine there. The little wolfsbane will be out of system before we get there. He will be ready then. I should make some money before he gets too tired" Max laughed. "You're not going to keep him in all the fights, are you daddy?" Monica wondered. "No, he's still too young to go against the champion. I will need to train him for that. It will be worth the big money I will get from the winnings, though" Max stated. "I'm glad, daddy. We can keep Reggie for a long time, if he wins enough" Monica told him. "Monica, what did I say? That thing has no name. I don't care how much it wins me; it deserve a name" Max warned her. "Yes, I know, daddy" Monica cried. Max and Monica had thier dinner and went to the death arena. They waited until the place was shut to the public, before opening up the truck. Reggie looked like he had been trying to use his claws. The shackles were scraped against the cage and Reggie was scared. He could smell the other werewolves and they had powerful scents. Mostly male, strong fighters and able to shift to a wolf. Max grinned at the nervous boy. "Ready to fight until the death, boy wolf. You will need a weapon to fight in human form. After that your wolf should keep you alive" Max informed him.
