The hunter's daughter

Chapter 2

The Alpha Barron managed to get some peace inside his room. He didn't want to be here at the harvest moon pack. He knew that Alpha Ashley had been the reason why Reggie's brother had almost turned rogue and lost his mate. He was only there to help Reggie and his mate. They had helped him escape the hunters from the werewolf's fighter's death arena. Even though they had been forced to help, he knew they were special. Reggie and Monica were 2nd chance mates and that was something Alpha Barron wanted himself. The first day he met them he had seen how strong thier bond had been, even before they were 2nd chance mates. He had that strong bond with his mate before she died. He saw that there was still hope that he would find that again. He only had to wait but he needed to protect Reggie and his mate. He needed to put up with being at harvest moon pack for a few days so he could tell Reggie what he found out about his brother. But first he had to deal with the noisy dinner party that had began downstairs, even though he wasn't attending it, he could hear it. Alpha Ashley was determined to celebrate no matter what the cost.

"Moon goddess, give me patience. I will need it to get through the next few days" he whispered at the moon.

Alpha Barron would need a lot of patience with Alpha Ashley if he didn't want to start a fight. After the dinner party and having his own in his room, he managed to get some sleep. The next day he got up early to let out energy at the pack's gym. There was hardly anyone awake and he was able to spend an hour by himself before anyone joined him. Once people knew he was there, there were a large group of wolves that came. Another one came inside and it was Alpha Ashley.

"Alpha Barron, you should have told me you were going to the gym, I would have joined you" he told him.

"I didn't want to distrub you, I'm an early riser" Alpha Barron informed him.

"That's not a problem. I need to get up early, myself. There's always training to improve on" he said hitting the punching bag.

The punch wasn't hard or fast. Alpha Ashley hardly got a good momentum. Alpha Barron realised that he needed a lot of improvement in his training.

"You will need to improve your training routine if you wish to be able to fight for your pack" he warned Alpha Ashley.

"I am ready to fight for my pack. Do you think I will be fighting with rogue fighters that are stronger than me?" Alpha Ashley wondered.

"I do not think they are stronger but they are more determined to destroy this pack. There will be rogue attacks that will start soon and if you don't train harder, they will destroy it. I know that they have been preparing for it for a long time now" Alpha Barron stated.

"Alpha Barron, you must help us fight these rogue fighters. After all this pack helped you to escape the werewolf's fighter's death arena" Alpha Ashley begged him.

"I am grateful for your pack's help but I can only warn you, I cannot interfere on your behalf" Alpha Barron told him.

"Why not?" Alpha Ashley asked.

"The Lycan kingdom has to be neutral amongst wolf packs. Until we prove that the other packs has been dealing with rogues or hunters. We can assist in negotiations until then" Alpha Barron told him.

"The blood moon pack have been dealing with rogues but there should been evidence of it" Alpha Ashley told him.

"No, there hasn't been. It's not the blood moon pack but another one that has co-operated with rogues. The bold moon pack are the ones that want the rogue fighters to attack yours" Alpha Barron told him.

"Why? We haven't done anything to them" Alpha Ashley wondered.

"It is something I need to talk to Reggie about" Alpha Barron admitted.

"What had Reggie got to do with that pack?" Alpha Ashley asked annoyed.

"His brother is a part of that pack" Alpha Barron told him.

Alpha Ashley looked shocked then mind linked Reggie.

'Come to my office, there's something Alpha Barron needs to talk to you about' he told Reggie.

"Reggie will be in my office soon" he told Alpha Barron.

Alpha Barron was annoyed that Reggie had been commanded to see him. He was going to protest but then thought he should get this conversation over with. Alpha Ashley waited with him as they waited for Reggie. Alpha Barron tried to hint that he didn't need him there.

"Reggie doesn't need you present for my meeting with him" Alpha Barron told him.

"It involves his brother that was apart of my pack, it involves me" Alpha Ashley insisted.

Reggie came into the room before Alpha Barron could command Alpha Ashley to leave.

"Hello Alpha Barron, Alpha Ashley" Reggie greeted them

"Reggie, we wish to discuss something with you, please sit" Alpha Ashley commanded.

Reggie looked worried and sat down. Alpha Barron was trying to calm himself because of Alpha Ashley.

"Reggie, you aren't in trouble. This is about your brother" Alpha Barron told him.

"What about my brother?" Reggie asked him.

"Your brother Baldwin has joined the bold moon pack. It has been reported to be in co-operation with rogues and hunters. The pack is trying to start a fight with this pack and others" Alpha Barron began.

"Your brother has always been a disappointment to this pack. It's not surprising that he had joined a pack that wants to start a fight with us" Alpha Ashley interrupted him.

"Alpha Ashley don't interrupt or I will have to ask you to leave" Alpha Barron warned him.

Alpha Ashley was shocked but nodded in agreement.

"Your brother might not know that he has joined a pack that is our enemy but if he does then we need to try and convince him to switch sides" Alpha Barron told Reggie.

"How can we do that? He hasn't contacted me since he left. Even if I knew his number, I doubt that he would listen to me" Reggie stated.

"We will have to visit him under the royal flag. He cannot attack us if we are visiting his pack under a flag of truce. He will listen to you; you are his brother" Alpha Barron told him.

"What about Monica and my pup, I can't leave them" Reggie protested.

"They will be looked after by my guards. We should only be gone for a day; you will be able to leave them for a day" Alpha Barron told him.

"I will have to talk to Monica about it, first" Reggie told him.

"Yes, you will talk to her but we need to leave in the next few days" Alpha Barron told him.

Reggie looked at his alpha and saw that he was trying not to grin. He was hoping that Reggie wouldn't come back then he could force Monica to be his or leave the pack with her half breed. Either way he would get what he wanted and that was to break thier mate bond.

"If Monica is protected by your guards I will go. Whatever happens to me I will be happy knowing she is safe here" Reggie stated.

"She will be safe here while my guards are here. Alpha Ashley will make sure the whole pack is safe while we are gone" Alpha Barron told them.

"Yes, I will make sure the whole pack is safe including Monica" Alpha Ashley told them but he wasn't completely honest.

Alpha Ashley didn't want to protect Monica and thier half breed pup. First chance he got he would leave them unguarded. He tried to appear concerned about thier safety bug Reggie and Alpha Barron didn't believe him.

"I am the Alpha of this pack. I want to protect all my members. You can be assured that I will look after your mate and new born mutt, I mean pup" Alpha Ashley told them.

"You better or I will drag you to the Lycan court to have you stripped of your title" Alpha Barron warned him.

Alpha Ashley looked afraid but remained calm.

"I will and I don't need to go to the Lycan court. I haven't done anything against Lycan law" Alpha Ashley stated.

"Good, keep it that way. Reggie, go home and talk to Monica then be prepared to leave in the next few days" Alpha Barron told them.

Reggie nodded and Alpha Ashley tried to look calm but he was angry. He wanted to punish Reggie and start a fight with Alpha Barron. He knew he wouldn't win so he decided he needed a plan. He had the next few days to think of one then he will get his revenge.
