That night, after Dev slept, I kept his head on the pillow slowly and went to Aunty and Uncle's room.

Shivanya knocked on the door. Vineeta opened it and was shocked to see Shivanya there at that time.
Shivanya: Hi aunty. I am so sorry to disturb you at this time, but it is really important to talk to you on this matter. Is uncle awake??
Vineeta: Arre, no no beta. You are just like Devanshi to us. And yes, Nitesh is awake.
Come inside.
Shivanya enters the room and greets Nitesh.
Nitesh: Tell us Shivanya. How can we help you?
Shivanya: Uncle and aunty, I am coming from Dev's room right now and......
She narrates the whole incident to them. They are shocked hearing about Dev's breakdown.
Vineeta(in tears): I knew that boy is not good for my son. He was not a good friend at all. He always wanted to drag my son into all kinds of bad stuff. Going clubbing, having multiple relationships at one time, drinking, smoking and even taking drugs. But my Dev never failed the values I taught him. After what we did to him, I never got the guts to tell Dev to stay away from Ashmit. Today I realised that I have failed badly as a mother.
Nitesh side hugged her to console her.
Shivanya knelt down and kept her hands on her lap.
Shivanya: Aunty, you don't worry. You are the best mother, as you instilled those values into Dev. I promise you,I will push Ashmit out of his life. Just tell me what did you do that Dev had changed so much. I remember the Dev I knew. He was the lively boy of the class. Ashmit was always the bad boy and I never really liked him. Please tell me. What exactly happened??
Nitesh: Beta, we cannot tell you this. It is not our place to. I think you should talk to Dev about it. But, do it after marriage. Stay relaxed before that.
Shivanya: Ok uncle. I will.
She smiled and was about to go, but Vineeta stopped her.
Vineeta: Shivanya, one more request. We consider you as our daughter, not daughter-in-law. Can you honour us by calling us Mumma and papa??
Shivanya(getting emotional): Will mummy work??
Vineeta nodded, smiling at her, as they hugged each other.
Shivanya(still in the hug): Thanks Mummy.
Vineeta broke the hug and just smiled at her.
Vineeta: It's Ok. Now go and sleep. It is already very late. I don't want the bride to have dark circles in the function tomorrow. Ok??
Shivanya chuckled and went to the room saying bye to them.

The Garden of the Hotel
12:30 pm
Everyone was running from here to there for the preparations. Riya was getting bored sitting there between the kids.
Riya: Sukriti, please let me go. There is still sk much work to do.
Sukriti: Sorry Mumma. Papa has given us strict instructions of not letting you go anywhere. You can order around people for making them work.
Surav(seeing his sister saying sorry): Sorry Mami.
Riya poured and continued sitting there.
Shivam and Rajeev were once again checking the menu and decorations, while Surbhi was talking to the mehendi artist and telling her where to hide Dev's name.
Soon the function started. Shivanya was ready in her room, talking to Raghavi and Devanshi. Shivaansh was in his room, preparing for the surprise gift of his Dida.

Finally the time came to start the function.
Shivanya sat on the stool and Dev sat beside her. As the mehendi artist started her work, Dev slowly whispered in her ears
Dev: One, you are looking beautiful and two, thanks for yesterday's support. I did not know how to answer him.
Shivanya(whispering back): One, thanks. Two, it was my duty.
Dev smiled at her. A few minutes later, Shivaansh climbed the stage with Raghavi and Devanshi.
Shivaansh: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Today is my Beloved Dida and jiju's mehendi function. How can a function be over without dance?? So here we have the two beautiful girls from both sides.

Shivaansh: Thanks beautiful ladies. Now we have the parents of the groom. Welcome them with a round of applause.
Vineeta and Nitesh dances on Mehendi laga ke rakhna.

Shivaansh: Thanks guys. Now we can see the Mehendi is over. Let's proceed towards the lunch.
Dev had a quick look at the Mehendi.
Dev: It looks really beautiful.
Shivanya: Thanks.
Shivanya: I had applied the hand one earlier as it would take a bit time. The leg one is done now.
Shivaansh, Raghavi, Devanshi and Ashmit came to them with plates full of delicious food.
Raghavi: There you go jiju. Eat food.
Shivanya: Oh hello madam, where is mine??
Devanshi: What Bhabhi?? You forgot so soon. You have Mehendi on your hands. We had applied earlier only, so we can eat. You did it today, so you have to wait for it to dry.
Shivanya: What? Guys, come on. I am so hungry. Can't any one of you feed me?
Shivaansh: Don't even think. We are eating ourselves. We are hungrier. We have been since morning.
The other two nodded their heads and continued eating.
Shivanya: Ok fine. I will tell Di or Bhabhi to feed me.
Shivaansh: Bhabhi was tired so she went to rest and bhaiya is with her. Di is feeding the other two kids.
Shivanya: Jiju??
Shivaansh: He is busy with the guests.
Shivanya made a sulky face and kept on cursing the three idiots sitting in front of her and eating. Now, how could our lovely hero see our heroine that. Dev took some fried rice and manchurian gravy on a spoon and took it in front of her. She looked thankfully at him and took the bite.
The trio looked at them in awe and happiness as their plan of Dev feeding Shivanya was over.
