*Autor POV*
They both laughed hard. The awkwardness they were feeling was making the silence enervating, so they just wanted to blurt something out. She leaned back on her hands. They were digging the ground, not on the blanket. She closed her eyes and just felt the nature around her. She sighed but didn't say anything. He just watched her, amazed by her beauty, her way to control her body, her emotions. Under the moonlight, he could see who she was, truly, without the walls; he could see her fierceness and her vulnerability at the same time.
-"Do you believe in the supernatural?"
-"Yes. I believe there is someone divine watching over us, I feel it and have seen it with my own eyes." She said, smiling but still not opening her eyes.
-"What about supernatural creatures?"
-"Umm, you mean like ghosts, Bigfoot and vampires, stuff like that?" She was feeling the nature in her palm. The trees and plants, the animals surrounding them and she wandered with that special connection through the forest further.
-"Yes, I mean stuff like that," he said, amused, watching her relax and get a bit distracted from him.
-"Well, you probably won't beli—" she stopped talking when she sensed wolves.
They were silent, clearly closing up on them. She didn't know if they were his pack or not, so she opened her eyes to see Nathan's eyes a bit cloudy and unfocused. He then focused on her, and she could see his stiffness.
-"What's wrong?"
-"Uhh, we have to go back, I remembered there's something I need to do," he said, already standing up. His voice sounded rushed, urgent.
-"You're lying," she stated, narrowing her eyes. Something was off.
-"I-I don't want you to be scared, alright? Just...just trust me ok? I'll walk you to the bike and you can ride it on your way home." He said, ushering her away from the cliff.
He sniffed the air and abruptly, he turned to the forest. Shielding her.
-"It's too late now, they're already here. Damn it I didn't want you to find out this way," he cursed at the forest.
-"¿Find out what? ¿Who are 'They'?"
-"Wolves."
-"Okaaay..??" she said hesitantly, already taking her hunting knife out. She furrowed her brows. 'So they are not from his pack'.
-"Werewolf," he said, looking at her over his shoulder. His voice was very stern.
-"Umm this should be interesting," she scoffed at him.
-"What? Interesting? Never mind, just.. when I tell you to run you run and take the bike. And don't stop no matter what," he tried to focus on the situation ahead of him and not on her weird reaction.
-"The heck I will..." She scoffed again.
-"Andy this is f*****g dangerous!...Look, my men will be here no time, I'll keep them busy. You just run ok?" he said commanding her. His voice was deeper. He didn't notice he used his Alpha's voice on her, but Andrea felt the subtle shift in his tone, a deeper command that tried to stirr something ancient within her.
He wasn't facing her so he couldn't see her roll her eyes at his mansplaining her the situation ahead. He didn't want for her to find out like this, he didn't want to show her this vicious side of werewolves. He didn't want to scare her. And he couldn't make any opinion of her reaction right now. She wasn't freaking out so maybe she knows about his kind or maybe she just doesn't believe him.
-"Don't worry, Nate, I got your back," she whispered a bit cheerfully, and he went stiff again, his eyes wide at her comment.
Just when he was about to respond, from the shadows of the trees emerged 7 big wolves. They were growling and snapping their teeth at them. They were both about to get cornered at the cliff if they didn't move quickly. Nathan was breathing hard his hands fist on his sides. He was ready to fight them but he was worried about his mate. She was behind him and with her 5'4" she couldn't see much behind Nathan.
-"What the f**k are you doing in my land?" He shouted. Stepping forward to them so he could shift without her getting in his way. -"Get out of here before I'll kill all of you."
Then one of the rogues shifted. He was naked, blond and had a big scar on his face. Being a werewolf gave him the muscles but he wasn't as well built as Nathan. They all looked very haggard, malnourished and even abused.
-"Well well, what do we have here? If it isn't Alpha Nathan. We heard you were on a date and we needed to see it with our own eyes. We wanted to say hi to the lucky girl," he tilted his head trying to see behind him but Nathan growled and he put his hands up.
-"Oh come on.. we are here just to have a bit of fun so why don't we all sit and enjoy this little picnic?" he said with a smirk.
-"I'm warning you I'm going to kill you right now if you don't get out of my territory. I won't tell you again," his voice sounded deeper. It was his wolf talking now.
Andy was waiting silently. But when she heard what he said she knew she needed to have a word with him.
-"Hey, hey, What's the problem?" she said stepping forward. She went next to Nathan.
-"Why fight when you can negotiate?"
She looked at Nathan who had a pissed face. His lips pursed, eyes narrowed. She smiled at him in her mind. 'He looks so sexy right now.'
-"¿Negotiate?¿What do you have to offer?" The man said smirking at her, checking out her body and probably thinking she's stupid or something.
-"For starts, If you leave now HE, won't kill you right away...maybe tomorrow? I can make sure of it. And if you are hungry we have some fruits left you can have it for your way back if you want?" She said trying to sound all innocent and hopeful.
The man started laughing out loud and she was sure the other wolves were laughing too by the way their tails moved.
-"And if we don't? I kinda wanted to spend some time with you, you know, have a little chat? Maybe something more? you look fun," he sneered at her.
Nathan was about to step forward but she put a hand up his chest.
-"If you don't... I'll kill YOU myself. But only AFTER I'm done with your buddies here. Either way you're all going to die," she said lowering her head so the man could see her psycho eyes better, her voice dropped serious.
They were all a bit dumbstruck by her statement. Nathan looked at her and then at the wolves. He was a bit behind her now so he saw her knife and her feet were in a fighting position.
-'f**k she's ready to fight,' he said to Shadow.
-"Oh I'm gonna have fun with you," The man said getting ready to charge at them.
-"Yeah...so much fun!" she said back. Her eyes held a fire she knew they saw and smiling like the Cheshire cat she walked away from Nathan to the left. He had 5 wolves coming towards him while another wolf and the man were heading towards Andy's direction.
She ran towards the man and he did the same. Just when he was about to lunge at her, she twirled to the left gave him a punch so fast, like a snake strike and with the strength of a bear, she broke his jaw and he fell unconscious to the ground. They all stopped moving when they heard his bone break.
She turned to the wolf with so much speed he didn't even notice when she had already stabbed her knife on the side of his neck.
He died immediately.
The other wolves began circling Nathan, one tried a front attack but he gave him a punch and he went flying. One wolf broke the circle to go after Andy but she bounced on him and stabbed him on the back of his neck.
Then they decided to attack Nathan at the same time when Leo's howl was heard and at least a dozen wolves emerged from the trees. They charged at the four remaining wolves and made them summit after a few hits and bites. They didn't offer much resistance so they weren't injured much.
Nathan as soon as they all surrendered went to Andy. She was cleaning her knife with the wolf fur. She put it back and closed her eyes. She said a silent prayer, thanking the gods for helping her and forgiveness for taking a life, one of their creations.
He watched her silently. He was impressed by her, she killed two wolves and knocked out another one with barely any effort. He was so curious about what she was because she definitely was not human.
She stood up, went to the other wolf and did the same. Then she went to the man she knocked out, she bent, checked his pulse, nodded to herself when she made sure he was alive and began to look for anything to tie him up.
She stood up and locked eyes with Nathan who was watching her a few feet away from her.
