“Alannah?” I stop dead in my tracks and turn to face my new boss, panicking and wondering what I could have done wrong. “Y-yes Mr Letharian?” I stuttered as he motions me to enter his office. I walk in fast not wanting to test his patience having heard he has a temper. “How was your day?“ he asked me with a grin on his face. I try to answer but I find myself lost gazing at how attractive Mr Letharian is, I quickly realise I am staring and fire a quick answer to him. “It was enjoyable Mr Leth” “Call me Adriath” he interrupted me with a smirk on his face. I blush, nobody in the office is allowed to call him that, I wonder what makes me so special. I wonder whether he can sense that I am not human, the same way I can sense that he is not either. “Alannah?” He snaps making me jump in my chair, “S-sorry Adriath, I got lost in my own world for a second there” I said trying to make light of the situation. “I require your attention completely when I am talking to you Alannah, do you understand me?”. I nod and feel sick to the pit of stomach, I have never been spoken to in that way and especially by someone I just met. I notice his secretary behind him scowling at me like I had done something wrong to her but I was to distracted by the way Adriath made me feel when he raised his voice to me, it was a feeling I had never felt like lightening through my very being and heat between my legs. “You may leave” he points to the door as I usher myself out quickly I finally sigh a breath of relief, as I turn back to notice that he is watching my every step. I arrive home greeted by my ex boyfriend, Carlos, his face looked like thunder as began sniffing around me, “You have been near another supernatural today haven’t you?” I notice the anger in his voice. “Excuse me?” I reply in a response to how he his behaving. “It is not your business who I have been around in my daily activities, what are you even doing here?”. “I own you Alannah, you know that” I couldnt hold my laugh in. He looks at me angry and confused. “You own nothing Carlos, not me, not this house, not the car absolutely jack s**t, in fact you dont even own the clothes on your goddamn back so get out” I snap. “Fine” he growled. I open the door and point to the garden “off you go” he stomps his way out into the yard “I will not let you go so easily, this is not over” he snarled. “Ohhh but it is” I said laughing as I slammed the door behind him. After taking a shower and sorting some food I sit down still pondering my feelings about what happened at work today, it was only second day various questions kept popping in and out of my head but leaving me with no answers. I drift off into a deep sleep, only to be woken by a loud knocking on my door. “Carlos I swear to god if thats you there will be hell to pay” I yell as I walk towards the door. I hear a laugh and a subtle cough as if to get my attention. I swing the door open wearing nothing but a night dress and to my surprise Adriath is stood at my door. In a sheer panic I slam the the door and hide prancing around like a school girl embarrassed by what he just witnessed. I hear another cough and I quickly open the door and begin apologising over and over to him worrying whether I had just cost myself my dream job. He walked into my house, glaring I could see the feint red glow in his eyes and his veins exploding from his arms. Why does this man make me feel this way?
