Tara hated moving. She’s been moving a lot with her family ever since she was young. She practically grew up in different towns, which would mean not one can be considered her hometown. She never got the chance to have proper friends. Over the years, with the frequency of their moves, she gradually got disappointed every time. They never stay in one place for a long time, and the worst part is she never knew why.

On the contrary, Vance loved the idea of moving. He'd been in the same town his whole life and he always hoped that someday they would finally move far away from this place. He doesn’t like this town because growing up, he was bullied a lot. And his parents knew about it too, but they didn’t do anything about it. He pleaded with his parents to agree to move somewhere else, but they would always just say no, and he never understood why.

When Tara and Vance cross paths, they develop an unexpected bond. They were drawn to each other the moment they first met. And weirdly enough, they got along quite well, even though they had the opposite personalities. Days turned weeks and weeks turned months. They spent most of their time together. Every day was always fun, until one day they discovered something beyond their imagination. What they thought was a small and quiet town lies a town wrapped in secrets.

Can they uncover the secrets in this mysterious town? Or will they be buried along with its secrets?

Chapter 1: Tara
I hate moving. We’ve barely stayed a month and now we’re on the move again. This is already our 6th move this year. I swear I lost count how many times we’ve moved over the past years. I can still remember our first move. To be honest, I was extremely excited at first. New town, new house and new friends. Or so I thought. In just two weeks, we moved again. Imagine my disappointment that time. I thought I could finally make friends, but it was for naught. I never understood why we kept on moving. As far as I can remember, all the towns and houses we moved into were nice. The neighborhood was peaceful, and the neighbors were friendly as well. One of my favorites was the 3rd house we moved into way back when I was in elementary school. It was a white concrete 2-storey house with a big black gate and a front yard. There were 3 bedrooms, two toilets and bathrooms and a library in total. In the front yard on the left corner was a mango tree and there was a small flower garden just right in front of the windows of the house. One on the right and another on the left. There was also a lovely swing where you can enjoy your afternoons reading some books. But what I loved about the house was the fact that it has a library. It was big and spacious with wooden bookshelves on every side of the room. There was even a reading nook with a comfy seat by the window where you could sit and read or even sleep! It was paradise, I tell you! For a bookworm like me, it was my happy place. But, of course, my happy days in the library only lasted for a few weeks. We moved. Again.
