The wall of the room was painted white up to the ceiling.
There's a big flat screen TV on the wall of the room, facing the two beds inside, and a side table for both beds. There's a mini walk-in closet just inside the comfort room, and there’s a bathtub, and an enclosed shower space inside the comfort room.
I can say that the room is pretty clean and neat, and it was maintained well even though there weren't so many people going here on the island to occupy the rooms. And I heard that the owner of this Island doesn’t come here that often, maybe he’s only here twice or thrice a year.
I sat on my bed as I unpacked my things, but something's really bothering me all this time I was walking around the room.
"Mom." I picked up my phone from the pocket of my sweatshirt, and removed the airplane mode, as I just remembered my deal with Mom. And I haven't contacted her ever since I turned my phone to flight mode. I bet she's now panicking.
I was about to send her a message when my phone suddenly turned off.
"What the…" I haven't even used it ever since I messaged her a while ago, but the battery's already drained.
I sighed as I placed it on my bed and looked for my charger on my backpack.
"Where is it? Charger. Where are you?" I had opened and searched every pocket of my bag. I even threw every piece of my things from my luggage, but it wasn't there.
"I clearly remembered putting it here. Where is it now?" I am whispering now, as I don't want to bother Luna from the other side of the room, sitting on her bed and facing her laptop again.
But she was already looking at me, with her black round eyes, without showing any emotion on her face.
She suddenly walked towards her backpack which she had placed on the sofa in front of her bed, and pulled something from it.
"I'm sorry. I was just-"
"Here." She walked towards me, and handed me her charger.
"I think we have the same unit. You can use this for now." She added. I took it from her hands slowly, looking up at her as I am now sitting on the floor.
"Thanks. It will be pretty quick." I said, but she turned her back on me already, and I didn't even know if she understood what I had said.
I am just wondering if she's the same woman I have met on the plane, and the woman I am with this time, in this room. She's completely different from the woman I met earlier, and it's creeping me out again. She's somewhat cold, the way she treats me, it's too cold, she's too serious and I don't know if I have done something that offended her.
I shrugged my thoughts away and started to look for the socket, and I found one just above the side table of my bed. I plugged in my phone and turned it on fast. I need to contact Mom fast, I don't want her to get worried even more.
I dialed her number fast, but in all fairness, I think I am so unlucky today. There's no signal. NOTHING. As in None.
I chuckled as I remembered my Mom's words. She's right about the fact that there weren't any signals here on this freaking island. There's even no Wi-Fi from this Hotel.
What an unlucky day for me.
I didn't even bother to go out just to find a place with a signal, and just let my phone charge while I was unpacking my things, but I am really so tired right now, so instead of fixing my things, and putting them in place, I just let them there on the floor, and I will just clean and fix everything later. I just want to sleep. It's already dawn afterall.
I haven't had any sleep on the plane, so I need to gather my strength first before doing anything.
***
It's already one in the afternoon when I woke up, and the very first thing that I saw was Luna, on her bed, still facing her laptop. I wonder if she even slept.
"I did. I just woke up thirty minutes before you." My brows arched automatically as she answered my question just in my head. And I think she heard it again as she started speaking again.
"You're just so easy to read. I can't read minds, but it'll be great if I really can, right?" She said with those smiles again that's always creeping me out.
But I think it's not her smile that's creeping me, I think it's her. Her whole being, her whole existence is scaring me. I don't know why.
I fixed myself in the bathroom, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and blow dried my hair, and came back inside the room after to clean up my things.
I stopped beside my bed as I looked upon the floor. Did I see this before taking a shower? Or, not? The floor's clean. Not a single thing from my luggage was there, and I am not so sure if it's like this before taking a shower.
"Oh. I picked up all your things and placed them back inside your luggage. I'm sorry. I just can't stand the dirty environment. Especially if it's the room."
I am just so speechless. I smiled awkwardly towards her, and turned my back from her after, as I just don't know how to react from that.
I am not sensitive, and It doesn't matter to me if someone touches my things, it's just so awkward for me. I feel like I have sinned without doing anything.
She has a way to make everyone around her uncomfortable. I don't know, but she has so many personalities within her that I will probably be seeing more often during our stay here.
I unpacked my things again and placed the food that I had brought with me inside the cabinet of my bedside table.
"Ah." I suddenly withdrew my hands as something cut my finger. It's bleeding.
"What happened?" In an instant, Luna's already beside me and grabbed my hand. She looked at my finger for a second and looked at me.
"Do you have, like… a first aid kit?"
"Yeah." I grabbed my kit beside me with my right hand, as she was holding my left.
"All right. Wait up here. I'll just get some water in the bathroom. We need to cleanse that first." She went out of my sight as fast as she could.
It's a small cut, but I think it's deep. And it's so painful. My finger's already couldn't feel, I'm already numb because of the so much pain I am feeling right now.
The blood is flowing down to the white floor, painting it red, but she was not here yet.
I took out a colored cloth from my luggage and wiped it in my hand, and pressed it with pressure. I don't know much about applying first aid, but I think it'll help. But something caught my eyes when I was pulling my clothes from the luggage. There's a knife in between my clothes that I think was the cause of this cut.
I pulled it out from there using my other hand, and looked at it, seeing my reflection from there as it was so clear like a mirror.
"Holy sh-" It slipped off from my hands as I saw her reflection from there, standing behind me. I thought I saw a ghost. She's even wearing a white long sleeved shirt that covers half of her body, up to her knees. My heart is already going to explode because of her.
"Why do you have a knife?" She asked as she placed the basin on the floor as she sat.
She removed the cloth from my hands, and pulled out the other empty basin from the bottom of the other one while I was just watching her do her thing.
"I honestly don't know." She didn't even glance at me as I answered her question.
Honestly, I don't have any memory of putting a knife inside my luggage. First of all, it's prohibited inside the airport, so maybe it was from here. And the only one who had touched my things was - her.
Now, she's really suspicious.. If it wasn't her, then who, if it's only the two of us here inside the room. But why would she do that?
"You don't know. Alright. I know you're doubting me right now, as I touched your things a while ago. I'm not going to explain myself as it will raise a lot more questions. But just so you know, I also have one." I am just listening to what she's saying. She's too calm, but I don't know why Am I feeling this way. She's too calm, and It's alarming me.
"I found it over my piled clothes, also inside my luggage. I thought you placed it while I was sleeping. But the moment I saw you holding the same knife that I have with me, all my doubts for you went away."
"Are you being serious right now? I mean, who would have placed knives onto our luggage when there was just Us in here. And it's not as if someone had entered our room and placed them when we were sleeping-"
"That's possible." She said that caused me to stop. I am looking at her intently, having furrows in between my brows as I couldn't understand her logic again.
She finished curing me, and my wound was already covered with roller gauze when she looked at me.
"What do you mean that's possible? You mean someone entered the room without permission?"
"Yes. And don't shout. They might hear us. We don't know who's out there, listening to our conversation, or in the worst scenario, if we're being watched."
*Knock *knock
We both glance at the door as there's a loud knock coming from the other side, and after a while, we're already both looking at each other.
I have a bad feeling about this.
