CHAPTER 1 "Oh my goodness, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" I try to my fastest to run across the street to grab some coffee and muffins for my boss and his colleagues today. I was running a bit behind, from picking up his dry cleaning, picking up his son from daycare, grocery shopping for tonight's dinner, picking up some essentials for cleaning and preping the house, going to his office to pick up some important papers, and as I say before coffee and muffins. After getting the coffee and muffins, his son and I headed back home. I looked at my phone to see the time. "Crap 10 minutes late!" I got out of the car and unbuckled my bosses son out of his car seat and got him out the car. As I walked in the house rushing to the back office upstairs I bump into one of the maids. "Adola!" She says excitedly. "No time Regina, I have this order and..." She stops me in mid sentence. "That's what I'm trying to tell you the meeting is over, and he told me to tell you to go up to his office he has to talk with you." I went upstairs, nervous about what would be said. As I opened the door to his office, I look around to find my boss but he was not around. I hear a sound in the exercise room that's attached to his office. I open the door and see him with his shirt off. His body was sculpted like a magnificent statue. I've seen him like this before, I mostly saw him in expensive suits. I couldn't take my eyes off, every bump, every single bead of sweat was spectacular. I caught myself staring at him for a full minute until I snapped myself out of it. "nice body Mr St. James." He chuckled and put on the shirt next to him. " It's OK he said, I just want to know if you're coming to the party tonight?" I was taken aback by this question seemingly because I wasn't even invited it to the party. "With all do respect,I was under the impression I shouldn't that this party was for business partners and not not the help." He smiles at me with the most gorgeous smile just smile as he throws a towel around his shoulders." Well you know I'm going to want my favorite nanny there." He says as he grabs my chin gently to pull me up for a kiss. Yes that's right, I'm in a secret relationship with my boss he is my true love and I know he is. We've been in a secret relationship for 5 years. His wife passed away 8 Years ago and I've been working here a year after she died. I would love for us to get married, have children of our own and start a family. But he said he wants to wait for the right time. We've been together for 5 years aren't you? When will the right time be for him? I always wonder but I always just say that hes still healing from his last marriage. Yes I know I know I sound like a foolish school girl in love with a man that she can't have. But I know my true love is when love is him and he will propose when he is ready. "Besides I Just want to know, because I have a special announcement, one that I want everyone to hear." I was filled with excitement with the news that he sprung on me. That night I sat in my room looking for the perfect dress to wear for the party, It was a Christmas party and I wanted to look my best for me and him. My friend stopped by my room to hear about the announcement that he told me about. My friend Regina also works here as a maid and she is the only one that knows that I am having A relationship with our boss. " Wow this is great news but are you sure you sure the announcement announcement that he's talking about is an engagement?" " I don't know but he looks so sure about things. I just hope he does not go back on his word." I slipped on the dress and a pair of earrings that I was wearing for the party and went downstairs. As I went downstairs I caught him in the middle of my eye. He looked so handsome as I grabbed a glass of champagne walked towards him. " Good evening Mr. Saint James I said almost in a flirtatious way." He looked at me like I had several heads. " Miss Huxley I presume." Why did he say it like that? "Yes, I just wanted to say thank you for inviting me, I really appreciate it. Can you look at me weird. " Um okay," He said as he shot me another very strange look. He walked away and mingled with the other guest. OK that was pretty strange. I thought to myself not to myself but maybe it's just because we're in a room full of people and he doesn't want anyone to know just yet. I shoved it off and gave it to his son Aiden. Aiden spilled pudding all over his suit and I and I took him upstairs to find another suit to put on as he was crying. As I was getting his son dressed. He came into the room to check on me. " There you are." He said. Aiden ran over to his father and he picked him up. " Come downstairs I'm about to make the announcement that I want to meet you in about 30 minutes. As we made our way downstairs his business colleagues were waiting for him for 30 minutes and he got on top of the grandstairscase and made his announcement......... Chapter 2 I watched him on the grand staircase as handsome as hle was standing there like a million bucks, with so much confidence and drive. He tapped his glass to get everyone's attention. " Ladies and gentlemen family members business partners even the help. This celebration tonight brings to me great joy because not only Am I bringing a new member into our circle our family I'm bringing in someone I love and care about very much." Oh my God this is it I thought He's going to announce the engagement. "This person has given me so much for the past few years and I wanted to let her know how much she means in my life." I saw my friend Regina walk up towards me and squeeze my hand with excitement. We both gave each other a hopeful look. As we looked on waiting for him to call my name. "Without you're encouragement, kindness, and love I wouldn't of made it this far. So I want to introduce everyone to.... My heart was racing I just couldn't take it anymore as tears of joy filled my eyes. My friend gave me a little hug and I started to walk up to him. Everything felt as if it was in slow motion, the smiles, his smiles, my friend smiling on clapping as I hear "Azaria would you come up here." At first I thought I was hearing things. Azaria, the secretary! Why her, why now? My heart began to pound harder. What do I now? my body was frozen into place. "Azaria every since I met you everything became easier. It felt like I could do anything with you by my side. So what I'm saying is... I watched him go into his jacket, and pull out a box and open it. Inside was the most beautiful and humongous diamond ring I ever seen. My heart sank and broke into a million pieces. I looked over at Regina. She looked back at me with a remorseful eyes. "Azaria Blake, will you marry me? She looked at him with joyful tears. She was so choked up on tears she nodded. He slid the ring on her finger and they kissed and hugged while everybody clapped and congratulate their engagement. And that, that right there was where my heart, ego, everything shattered into a million pieces. I didn't know what all I felt was pain, anger, embarrassment and rage all at once. "Also I would like to take the time and say to another special person I'm my life.... Adola. Hearing my name made me go numb inside, I didn't know what to expect, I just stood there in embarrassment. When I looked up at him he had a small look on his face, a very egotistical look As he waited for me to come over. Walking through the crowd of people I felt the eyes staring at me yet I didn't know what they were thinking but I can certainly feel the judgment as everyone stared at me walking to the grand staircase standing next to him and his future fiance. When I got to the staircase he whispered in my ear, " You'll always be mine just know that you will always be here right beside me whenever I want." I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I thought I was the only one that would be by his side, the only one that was on his mind. I was furious. He looked back at his fiancee and kissed her hand. It took all of my strength not to explode in front of everyone. "I have another announcement to make, this wonderful woman beside me, has been a gem in my life, taking care of my son, making sure my family stays in order, and I really wanted to surprise her with something really special tonight." Oh really, what could be more special than embarrassing me in front of everyone and crushing my soul? He pulled out a huge check of two hundred thousand dollars on it. He's trying to bribe me, he's really going to sit here and bribe me with money after humiliating me. My blood was boiling inside. I was like a lid of explosives ready to explode. My heart was beating so fast from adrenaline but I couldn't do anything about it, I didn't know how to. "Here's a check for you Adola of two hundred thousand dollars, I know it's not much but the family and I really care about all of what you do around here, your services will surely be missed. Will my services be missed?? What does he mean my services will be missed, a little bit of my anger spilled out as I shouted. "Oh really, doesn't seem like it, considering you're letting me go!" He looked at me with a sneaky devious face. Then he turned back to the crowd and said. "Forgive her, she's very passionate about this job, she didn't mean for it to come out like that." He looked back at me. "Did you Adola?" He whispered in my ear again. "Don't cause a scene I will make you look like the devil in c*****e here I will make your life so miserable, if you don't cooperate." I looked up at him, anger and pain filled my face. "How could you, how could you break me like this?" He smiled, "Because I'm you're Alpha, and I will get what I want." I didn't know what to say. I had a huge lump in my throat. I straightened up and looked at the crown which was looking back at me. My friend Regina had the same look on her face, as tears ran down her eyes as she mouthed "I'm so sorry honey." My eyes were getting cloudy but I sucked my tears back in and took the check. "I apologize, I'm a little emotional." I said with Grace. I looked back at him as he wrapped his arm around his fiancee and squeezed her shoulder, smiling at me. "Thank you for everything everyone, it's been a pleasure serving with you." He started to clap, then everyone followed behind. He had the whole crowd wrapped around his finger. All I was to him was the help, the poor, sad desperate help. There was nothing I could do. I smiled for a few more minutes, as he finished his speech, and got a standing ovation. My stomach singed inside, bubbling with frustration, hurt and pain. The rest of the night was kind of a blur. I drank my sorrows down and a few hours later, I went to bed. The next day I woke up regretting all the champagne and rum I had at the party last night. My head was pounding, and my stomach felt like it was gonna come out of me. As I sat up I looked around and noticed that I wasn't in my room. I still had the dress on from the party and my hair was a complete mess. The light from the window was shining down in my face, so I got up to close the curtains. "Uuuggghhh my f*****g head!" I complained. "Do you need aspirin?" A familiar voice said behind me. It was him, my ex lover/ex boss. I turned around and sneered "Not from you I don't, I'll just go to my room and get my own." I started to bend over and grab my heels but the pain in my stomach was too much. "Come on, you're obviously not in good shape, let me help you." He started to walk closer to me to grab my heels for me but I stopped him. "DON'T COME NEAR ME YOU....YOU EVIL, MISOGYNISTIC, SORRY EXCUSE FOR A MAN!" He looked up at me offended and confused. Which I didn't see why he was . I should have been the one offended. I'm already hurt. "What did I do to you?" My mouth dropped to the floor. Did he catch amnesia, what the hell kind of question is that? "I must be living in an alternate universe, because there can't be any possible way that you don't remember what happened last night!" He still had that dumb look of confusion his face. "Do I need to refresh your memory?" He looked at me hurt. "Well yeah because only thing that happened between us last night was you passed out on the balcony after ranting about your heart being ripped to pieces, and then I carried you in here to bed." Now I know I'm in a different universe because this wasn't him at all. "So you don't remember giving a speech?" He looked at me weird. "A speech?.... Wait I didn't give any..." "You don't remember proposing to your secretary, and giving me a bullshit check and firing me in front of everyone?!" All of a sudden a wave of realization came across his face. "Wait, hold on your got the wrong idea, that wasn..." "You whispered in my ear that you would ruin me, you whispered that you were my alpha and you would never let me go even though you just got engaged to her!" His face softened. "Wait calm down, I can explain." "Explain What! That you're an asshole, that you just go around ripping people's lives and should get out of their chest leaving an empty space! You can't just go around shattering hopes and dreams like it it's a game!" I started to storm out of the room but since I was so hungover I held my stomach and limped quickly to the door. As I walked past him, he grabbed me by the shoulders with his strong manly hands. "Let go if me!" I shouted. "Not until you hear this! I'm not your boss Hakeem, his twin brother Ahmed, and I don't know what you talking about!" He's lying, I thought. I don't believe you, he doesn't have a twin brother. Just then he let go of me and grabbed his phone off the nightstand. "Here's proof," He said. He started to scroll into his i********:. "Here's a picture of us in the Caribbean last summer, here's another picture of us in Paris for a business meeting, and here's another picture from last night at the Christmas Party." I felt ashamed, my eyes started to water. "I apologize, I said as I walked out the door and headed to my room. When I closed the door I let out all of my pain. I ran to the bed and crashed down on it. I didn't know what to do, I thought he was the one, my Alpha, but all he did was break me and now all I could do is wonder where to pick up the pieces of my shattered life that was once a dream. After a few minutes of laying there crying my eyes out I heard a knock on the door. "Can I come in, I still have aspirin if you want it." I opened my door, my eyes red and swollen from crying. As I let him in I sat back down on the bed dizzy from all the hangover and grief. He sat a tray beside me with some water, and gave me a gentle smile. "May I?" He asked as he gestured himself to the bed. I nodded and he sat down. I felt the warmth of his body gently sweep across mine. "I want to apologize for my brother's behavior, it's not right what he did." I shook my head "Don't do that, don't pity me." A wave of concern swept across his face. "I'm not, it's just this isn't the first time he has broken a heart before. I've seen what breaking a person can do and I know it's terrible." I looked him in his eyes, they look so gentle and warm like I can wrap myself around them forever. His eyes were also two different colors, one was hazel and the other was dark brown. I didn't notice it before when I was swept up in my rage. He took my hand into his. A wave of electricity spark through his hand into mine, and suddenly I felt safe. Tears started to stream again I couldn't help it. Our eyes meet and in that small moment the whole world felt at peace. What does this mean? I just met him but, I knew that there was something there, or maybe I was imaging it. "Thank you, you're very kind." I said as I swallowed the pill with water. Then all of a sudden the door swung open. It was his evil twin Hakeem, with a smug smile on his face and behind him was his airhead fiancee. "Good morning Adola, I hope you've slept well." I rolled My eyes. He looked over at Ahmed. "Brother, I see you two where getting acquainted." Ahmed looked up at his brother, and in that moment I saw his masculine face turn into childlike fear. Was he afraid of his brother? "I was just giving Mrs Adola some aspirin, she wasn't feeling well this morning." "Too bad." He said coldly. "Well anyway Your ride will be here, in an hour, I've hoped you started packing." I looked at him in disbelief. I couldn't believe he was doing g this to me, it was like a long lucid nightmare that I couldn't get out of. "Wait an hour? You know that not enough time, I don't even have anything set up, no family, no home, you know that!" That when his fiancee spoke up. "Well we have arrangements for you at an apartment that is paid for up to 3 months, and of course the two hundred thousand dollars, you'll be alright. Besides I heard about your affair with Keemy and I don't want any temptation around him." My blood started to boil, and soon after that the lid exploded. I wanted to run towards her but my head and stomach were still in pain. So I just asked, "Can I at least say goodbye to Caleb?" She chimed in again. "Well he's at daycare right now so you won't have time, sorry honey." She said I. her fake nice voice. "Fine, and I'm not your honey." My fists were balled up and shaking, I wanted to punch them so bad but then, I felt Ahmed's warmth on his body and it calmed me. I started to pack my things with Ahmed's help. When I was finished there was a car that pulled up . I took my belongings and left watching the beautiful mansion behind me disappear. It took about forty five minutes to get to my apartment, and of course to my surprise, it was in a terrible neighborhood. My apartment was small but convenient, luckily it was already furnished. I didn't feel like unpacking so I sat down, and turned on the TV. streaming through the channels I heard a knock at the door. I didn't feel like having visitors so I ignored it and kept watching TV. All of a sudden I heard a key being turned into the door. I jumped up. I was worried, as I said before it was a terrible neighborhood. I didn't know what to do so I rummaged around my duffle bag until I found my pocket knife. "Don't, don't come in here I have a g*n!" I lied. As the door opened I opened my pocket knife ready to swing, when my arm was in midair I felt a pair of strong dominant arms reach for my arm and put them at my sides. I couldn't believe who it was, why he was here. "What are you doing here?...." Chapter 3 I couldn't believe he was here, I didn't want him to be here. My heart was beating fast across my chest, I didn't know what to say or do. He placed his hand inside the frame of my door, and his other hand reached out to grab me closer to him. I backed away slowly from his advance, this was wrong, way to wrong. I was going to close the door but he forced it open, came in and closed the door behind him. "You shouldn't be here Hakeem, I don't want to see you." I said as I turned my back on him with my arms folding in disgust. I could feel his sneaky slimy little smile as he grabbed my waist. "Oh I can be here and I will, remember I paid for this apartment and as long as you're here, you will do as I say. His hands caressed my curves as he kissed me in the back of my neck. Damn that my spot. I thoughtI wanted nothing to do with him but he knew how to touch me in a way that made my spine shiver. But I couldn't stop thinking about last night so I spun around and tried to smack his face off. He backed up and just laughed. "Don't be like that, you knew this was going to come to pass, but that doesn't mean I still don't want you." I was pissed, I started to walk over to the door and open it. He walked behind me and turned me around and kissed me. As much as I didn't want to, as much as I wanted to fight him for the embarrassment he put me through, I still loved him, I wanted to resist his tongue shivering down my throat, but his kisses have always been so addictive. I tried pushing him away one more time, but his grip on me was so strong. His tongue made its way down my neck and then my breast, stopping just above my n*****s. I let out a moan breathing hard from being out of breath from the kiss. "You know you want me, you know you want this. I looked at him, his eyes had fiery passion in them, the same way they did when we always made love. But I knew if a man could cause me so much pain, why should I bend to his will. Then I got another idea, and this one maybe was because I was still bitter about last night, or because I really needed this. Use him, let him think you want it and then kick him to the curb, I thought. But I knew I wasnt that kind of person, but he hurt me and I definitely wanted revenge. I kissed him back, passionately, biting his lip teasingly. He was into it, as he ripped my blouse open hungry for me. He lifted me up and placed me on the couch taking off his clothes exposing his manhood. He kisses my breast teasing my n*****s and makes his tongue down my thighs and in between. Even Though this would be the last time I made love to him I had to admit it was amazing as always. I smiled and got up from his chest putting my clothes back on. He sat up and flashed me a flirtatious smile. "Going somewhere?" He asked and I chuckled as I said. "No you are." He looked at me confused and got up and stood over me to assert dominance. "What makes you think I'm leaving?" I threw his clothes at him. "Because you are, don't think for a second that you're getting the upper hand because you bought me this place, one thing you won't do is blackmail me into sleeping with you because you gave me some money and a place to live." His face went ice cold as he sneered at me. "So that's how you want to play this?" He grabbed me by my behind and pulled me closer to him and lifted my face into his. "You will regret what you're doing, I will make sure of that." I smiled, I had him right where I wanted him. "We'll see about that." I walked towards the door and opened it. "My regards to your girlfriend, oops I mean fiancée, I hope this news about us sleeping together doesn't get out, I would hate to break up a happy union." He put on his clothes and walked toward the door. As he was leaving he looked back at me. "Are you sure you want to play this game, because trust me I can play it and better than you I might add." The way he said it made my spine shiver but I couldn't show weakness, I just couldn't. So I straightened up myself and looked him in his eyes. "You don't scare me, and I'm not backing down." He smiled deviously as he walked out the door. Later on that day I rested in my new place, granted it was mine but I knew he was going to try some shady s**t on his end. Between the horrible way he broke up with me in front of all of his friends and family, and the fact that he was engaged to someone else the whole time hes been with me, my heart pounded so hard in pain it felt like it wanted to come out if my chest. I burried my head in my pillow on the couch as i sobbed really loud. Then all the pain, all the embarrassment, all the anger started to rise up in me as I say up and wiped my tears thinking about everything. Then u started to thi k about his twin brother Ahmed. He was so sweet and seemed genuine but I knew getting caught up in my feelings for him would be messy. But I knew I had to be ready for anything with him and I was. I was ready, ready for anything that he tried to throw my way. Bring it on Hakeem and I'll show you how revenge is done.
