Chapter 11 - Peace

Nick POV

Walking beside Bella , I can see how she is loved by her pack members even though no one is coming close to them . I can see the smiles and waves directed to her and maybe because they don't know me , they are not talking to her and only greeting her from afar. Bella is also returning their smile and waves so maybe she will be a great luna of my pack since I can see that she is loved by her pack.

Upon reaching the mountain top , and it's a good thing that the mountain is not that high because Bella is not talking at all.

The view is spectacular with clear blue sky , dotted houses and a stream . I never thought I will be so content just to be with another person , just doing nothing , relaxing and enjoying the view. The only person who can give me this kind of peace of mind is my mother , when I was still a child. She try to take me and Sofia to picnics and walks but as I grew older , those special times are so few since I was the future alpha. Between school , training and alpha duties. Father already started to groom me by the age of 13 as he likes to retire as soon as he can to enjoy with mother. He make me do some simple alpha duties to start with. I love those time too as I get to spent time with father , just the two of us and I know that he love to teach me. I was committed to learn as much and as fast as I can to give father the freedom to enjoy his time with mother and I know that he will be there to guide me . Unfortunately , not all plans are doable . Life happens.

" Do you came here often ? " I asked Bella while she was sitting on a patch of dry leaves leaning back against the tree trunk. I sat opposite her at the ground .

"sometimes " she smiled " we used to come here often as a child as my mom loves to bring us for a picnic or swimming during the summer but as we grew older , we became busy with school and training so for the past few years , I come often with my siblings whoever is available "

" I think our mom is very much alike , even if mother is very much busy with her duty as she love to bring us to picnics and swimming "

As the morning past , I found myself talking comfortable with her. it's as if , we have known each other for years and been friends . Almost lunchtime , we went back to the packhouse for lunch and to get ready for the convention that afternoon. we both feel more at ease with each other and almost talk and act like old friends.

***FLASHBACK***

Last Night " come in " Alpha Jacob answered upon hearing a knock in his study door. It is after dinner and just finishing some pack business in his study , he had invited Alpha Nick for a private discussion. " take a seat " he invited while gesturing at the chairs in front of his desk.

Alpha Nick took a seat while waiting for Alpha Jacob to speak since he is wondering why Alpha Jacob want to talk to him.

" I know that you are wondering why I called for you , I am ready happy that you have come " Alpha Jacob stated " As you know , our pack have been friends for centuries and more than that , your father and I are childhood friends "

Alpha Nick nodded in agreement but keep silent , waiting for the point of the matter.

" Bella is already past her 18th birthday , she is almost 19 years old , you know that mate pull are felt by the time we are 18 years old even if we haven't met our mates , our wolf would know if we have a mate or not " Alpha Jacob lean back in his chair and continued " It saddened the family that Sierra , Bella's wolf said that she doesn't feel any mate pull and concluded that she doesn't have a mate so , for that reason , I would like propose my idea to you and hope that you will agree "

A knock was heard at the door , opening suddenly revealing Luna Jhoan . Alpha Jacob must me expecting her as he doesn't look surprise at all. I stood up as a sign of respect when Luna Jhoan wave her hand " Nick , you are such a good boy , your parents are so proud of you " taking her seat on the other chair across the Alpha Jacob beside mine.

" As I was saying , we would like for you Nick to mate with Bella " Alpha Jacob continued. Before Nick could answer , Luna Jhoan continued . " We are sorry for the lost of your mate , but since Bella is mateless , we would like for her to mate to someone we know who will respect and cherish her " taking my hands , Luna Jhoan continued " I had watch you and your sister grow up , except for this past 3 years , our family had been so close but I know that Bella and you have not been that close since she is closer to Sofia instead but in due time , I know that both of you will be a good match. "

Turning to Alpha Jacob , I answered back " I have to think about this , I know that you both will understand that my pack comes first , If Bella will be a good Luna to my pack then I can agree to this match ."

" Of course , we don't except you to agree immediately , since you are already here , why don't you try to get together with Bella , see how it goes " Alpha Jacob recommend " since I need your agreement first , I didn't broach the subject with Bella yet so she didn't know anything about this , why don't you ask her to tour you around so that you can spend some time together "

" That's a great idea " Luna Jhoan agreed " Why don't we go for a rest and table the discussion for now " Alpha Jacob instructed , standing up. " Okey , thank you and good night Alpha , Luna " with a nod of respect, I turned to go.
