Alpha Adriel Wang did not think he would ever be forced to take a wife. He was a powerful man and he was a billionaire as well. A man like him could have any woman he wanted just by snapping his fingers. Circumstances however had changed three months ago.

Someone attacked his brother's family while they were coming home from the amusement Park. His brother and his wife died before making it to the hospital. Their son Kai survived. Whoever attacked knew that they were wolf shifters. The bullets were metal and poisoned. Suddenly Adriel found himself in possession of a two year old child that refused to go with anyone but him. He didn't know anything about raising children. He didn't even want a wife. What was he expected to do. He was still looking for the people who killed his brother and he had no time to take care of a child.

His mother and the council of elders however saw this as a chance to push their daughters and choices of good brides onto him. Night after night a new one was sent to his house and he threw them out like clockwork. He was not going to be forced into a situation he didn't want. He knew however that his mother was not giving up. She never got to choose a bride for his brother so she was determined to choose his bride. She always hated his brother Jacob's wife. She believed the unhappiness of his marriage would be his death because he was soft spoken and let his wife do whatever she wanted. According to his mother the only good thing that came out that woman was her grandson Kai. An unmated Alpha is not good for the pack. It makes everyone worried. God, he was tired of hearing such words

Adriel did not trust women. He had met many women over the years who wanted him just for his body. He had met those who wanted him for his money. He also met those with political ambitions who wanted him for the respect they would command as his Luna. He saw them play all kinds of tricks and he knew women could not be trusted. They use men just as much as men use them. Sometimes it's even worse. Take a look at his brother for example. He married a girl who said she loved him and not his money. After the marriage she started demanding financial support for her maternal family. She demanded for a joint account to be set up by both of the for financial transparency in the marriage. She quit her job and stayed home shopping and spending all of his brother Jacob's money.

Perhaps his brother should have waited for his true mate.

True mates were becoming rarer among wolves now. Perhaps its because of loneliness that they opted to marry because waiting for someone whose existence you have no knowledge of is torture in itself.

Adriel often wondered if he had a mate out there. Maybe that's why he was 37 and unmarried. He wanted a lasting and happy marriage. He didn't want the misery of his Jacob's marriage to be his story as well.

Adriel stood outside of his hotel LeMidrand and struggled to step foot inside. He hadn't been here ever since the death of Jacob. They started the hotel together with money inherited from their grandparents. The hotel was a success and from there they kept opening branches in different cities and countries. Jacob always loved this Midrand branch though. It was their first after all and like they say. You never forget your first. He smelled something in the air and took a few steps inside and entered the lobby. The scent came from a woman, medium height, pretty as a flower and from the view of her backside she was definitely a sexy one. She just hadn't dressed her body for her looks. She was arguing with her friend about the cost of wine in the bar. Adriel meant to say something to praise the bar because he owns the hotel after all but the conversation suddenly moved to her s*x life. Her friend mentioned that she made a s*x schedule for her former boyfriend.

He couldn't help himself and he laughed. How old is she to be making s*x schedules. I thought that's something old married couples do. She turned around and he smelled that scent again. His wolf kept trying to convince him to go closer and sniff her because she smelled special. She accused him of eavesdropping on her conversation with her friend.

How can one eavesdrop on a public conversation he asked and her face turned red. She looked so beautiful blushing and embarrassed. I think I want to push her buttons some more he thought to himself.

Adriel did not go so far with his teasing because she was standing next to Jared's wife June after all. June was pack so if he needed more information about the pretty schedule woman he knew who to ask. His beta Ivan was waiting for him by the elevator already. He got in and went upstairs to his brother's office. His brother was dead so technically this was now his office. Everything in this room reminded him of Jacob. The pain of losing his brother struck him again. He punched the wall and grabbed a bottle of whiskey from the cabinet on the wall. "I guess I need a drink after all." he said. He called out for Ivan.

"Change this furniture by tomorrow and send all these things to my brother's house"

"Yes Alpha."

"Leave the wine in the cabinet and don't disturb me unless it's an emergency or I call you."

"Yes Alpha. "

Adriel stayed in that office for hours doing nothing but drinking. He thought of Jacob and wondered how he was going to raise Kai. The more he thought, the angrier he became and he threw the whiskey bottle against the wall.

Someone knocked on his door. "I thought I told you to leave me alone." he shouted angrily.

"It's not Ivan, It's me David. You know, your best friend right from childhood. Your other beta and the only person who likes you even when you are being an ass to everyone. "

"Just open the damn door already Dave."

Dave opened the door and came in. " You look like shit." he said to Adriel. "No offense though because you are my Alpha after all."

"What do you want Dave? I am not in the mood for any games you may want to play. I don't want any woman you could possibly offer me either. I am angry and I need to be left alone. "

"No offense Adriel but we have left you to grieve for three months now. You have been rude to everyone. You barely care about Kai the son you have to raise now. I am your friend and I have to tell you the truth. Rumour has it that Jacob's wife's family is gearing up to present a case before council for custody of the child. Your behaviour in these past three months won't win you any points. I don't think that family has any good intentions in trying to get custody of Kai. They probably want to use him to gain access to his father's wealth. You need to seriously consider getting a wife and acting like you can actually be a good father or you let Kai go. "

"Why haven't I heard about this?" Adriel asked. He was very upset and irritated. His wolf wanted to tear into something right then.

"Calm down, Dave said. it's not too late to remedy the situation. All we have to do is make sure you find a wife on your own terms. People have contractual marriages all the time. Find a woman who needs something you can offer and marry her."

Adriel paced around the office. "I have heard what you have to say. I will begin thinking about the situation immediately. He shook Dave's hand and said "You are a good friend and brother. I am thankful that I can count on you for support always."

Dave was right, Adriel realised. He could afford to buy a wife of his liking. All she had to do was convince the pack that they were happy and be a good mother to Kai. He knew fully well what kind of family Jacob's wife came from. They were greedy and vile people. He would never allow them to raise his nephew let alone get their hands on the shares his brother left for Kai. Now Adriel wondered where would he find the kind of woman he needed desperately. His mind went to little miss schedule. She was pretty, sexy and she certainly smelled nice. She would do wonderfully. No, she is not pack. I don't even think she is a wolf. She would probably be rejected by the others. Although he also thought, what he needs is a contractual marriage so it doesn't matter to him if she is a human or wolf. Besides, they would probably be compatible in the bedroom. Adriel decided to make his downstairs to the bar to find out if she was still around and her status relationship wise.

Before he could get to the bar he smelled her again. She must be in the bathroom. He stood nearby to wait for her and that's when Ivan walked to him.

He informed him that his mother and the council had sent another potential bride to visit him. He ordered Ivan to tell them he was busy and he already had a choice.

Ivan's face looked shocked for a moment but Adriel couldn't care less. He could smell his prey moving closer to him and he smiled. Oh yes, he had made his choice.

After sending Ivan away he moved towards the scent and called out the hiding little bunny. He found her and grabbed her as she tried to get back behind the huge potted plant. He laughed. She was really cute when intoxicated. He wondered how much exactly she had had to drink. She kept struggling and trying to get away from him. Without meaning to, he started getting excited. To make it worse, he smelled her arousal. She liked this he realised. Being dominated by him. All these men who followed her schedule were clearly weak. She was a fighter and he could tame her wildness. He could imagine the many ways in which he would tease her body while she begged him to enter and ram himself inside her.

Such a sweet victory it would be. He sniffed her neck and felt the temptation to bite it. He made promises of how he would change her view on her schedule after tasting what he had in mind for her. Her face was red, she looked flushed. It reminded him a ripe fresh red apple. He wanted to take a bite. Before he could say more someone called her name.

Adriel let her go and slipped her his business card. He was now sure she would do. All he had to do was meet her and bargain on the terms of their agreement.

He watched Justin's wife take her away in a cab.

"I know where to find you my bunny. I will see you soon." he smiled like a fox who had just tasted the most wonderful prey and went back upstairs to his office.
