Britany's pov “See you guys later,” Yujin said, and went to the room. I followed. "Britany".he called “Yes,” I answered when he looked at me “Why were you hiding from them?” he asked. “They’re just so big and muscular,” I said, trying to make it sound small. “So they look like a threat.” “But Sebastian was here earlier,” Yujin pointed out. “Do you remember that I was angry?” I said. “So I didn’t take notice of his appearance.” Yujin sat on the bed and patted his lap, gesturing for me to sit. I went over and sat. “It’s just that… I thought they would find my appearance weird,” I admitted. “And they were talking like they knew me before, so I was just shy.” “But you’re a beauty,” Yujin said. “Like, the colour of my eyes and hair,” I whispered. “Because most people similar to them had always tried to kill me or cut off the hair.” The memory still made my chest tight. “Is that why you’re always on contact lenses and wigs?” he asked softly. “Yeah,” I said. Yujin looked at me for a long second. “Bri, can I ask you something?” “Yes,” I said, my heart suddenly pounding. “Will you marry me?” “W-what?” The word came out strangled. “Never mind, I was just joking,” he said with a weird laugh. But I couldn’t unhear it. “Yes, I will marry you,” I said before I could think. “It’s better than getting married to an unknown man.” He looked excited. “You should tell your parents.” “I thought you said you were joking,” I said, confused. “Don’t spoil the mood,” he said. “So I’m the one going to spoil the mood? You keep changing. Is the change constant?” I asked, frustrated. “No, it’s not like that,” Yujin said. “That’s not what I meant. And please don’t get angry.” “So I’m an animal that gets angry at any minor issue?” I snapped. “You know right from the day we came here, you’ve been—” Before I could finish, he kissed me. Why did he always do that when I was trying to say something real? “Are you calm now?” he asked after. “I was never angry,” I said. “But you were trying so hard to make me angry.” “Sorry, did I actually change?” he asked, and he actually looked scared of the answer. “A lot,” I said. “You now raise your voice at me, always try to make me feel like a bad person.” “I don’t even know what happened,” Yujin said, running a hand through his hair. “I won’t do that again.” “Maybe you’ll be hitting me next,” I said, and immediately regretted it. The words just slipped out. “I will never, ever try such,” he said fast. “So please I beg you to forgive me.” “You’ve asked for forgiveness before,” I said quietly. Then I turned and went to bed. “So goodnight.”
