Britany's pov
We were still in Yujin’s room when I broke the silence. “Yujin, what is Shaun?”
He tilted his head, confused. “Huh?”
“Like, what type of a creature is Shaun?” I needed to understand his world. All of it.
Yujin exhaled. “Shaun is a vampire prince. He has siblings, but I only know of three.”
“Who are they? Their names?” I pressed.
“Azriel, Kai, Sebastian,” he said. Then he frowned. “Sebastian’s an immortal. I don’t know too much about Azriel because I haven’t seen him in a thousand years.”
A thousand years. The weight of that hit me. How alone he must’ve been.
“Why?” I asked when he went still on top of me.
“Can’t explain,” Yujin murmured. Then his eyes changed. “Brittany, don’t you think we forgot something?” I was lying on his chest, tangled in him.
“No, what are we forgetting?”
He shifted, going deeper, and I gasped. “Now do you know?”
“Ouch, yes, you can stop now,” I whispered. My body was overwhelmed.
“Okay, if you say so,” he said, voice rough.
“What do you mean by ‘if I say so’?”
“Nothing,” he smirked. “But I’m going to Vaisca.”
“Huh?” My brain couldn’t keep up.
“I’m going to the vampire domain,” he explained. “I might not be back for a while. But once in a while…”
“Is Raides and Ann going? And Shacy(Shaun and Stacy)?” I asked, already feeling cold without him.
“Yes.”
I climbed off him and moved to the other side of the bed. My chest felt tight.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yes,” I lied. My voice shook.
“Are you sure?”
“No,” I finally admitted. Silent tears started falling before I could stop them.
“I need to go home,” I sniffed, heading for the door. “Bye, have a nice trip.”
Yujin got to the door before I did. “Britany, look at me.”
“No, I don’t want to,” I whispered, collapsing to my knees. Tears were running down my cheeks now. I couldn’t hide it anymore.
“Why? I don’t understand. Why are you doing this?” He sounded frustrated, but underneath it was worry.
“No, why are you doing this?” I shot back. “Just let me go home.”
“No, Bri, I’m not letting you leave until you tell me what’s wrong with you,” he said, bending down to see my face.
I looked up, wiping my face. “You’re crying… why?” he asked.
“Nothing.”
“Brittany, please talk to me,” he begged.
“What else do you want me to say?” I snapped. Then the truth came out. “Yes, it has to do with everything about you leaving.” I surprised myself with how loud it was.
“I just thought you’d want to stay here,” he said softly.
“So you were going to leave me, right?”
“It’s your choice,” Yujin said.
“Really?”
“Yes, if you want to.”
“Yes,” I said immediately. I wasn’t letting him go alone.
“Then you have to inform your parents now,” he said. “Cause we’re leaving later this evening.”
I picked up my phone with shaky hands. “Hey mom, I’m going on a trip for a long period of time.”
“Okay, but do not hesitate to call me and who are you going with?” my mom asked.
“A friend of mine,” I said.
Yujin watched me. “So what did she say?” He made a frustrated face. “What did she freaking say, Bri?”
“She agreed,” I whispered.
“Alright, let’s go,” he said, relieved.
“Like now?” I blinked.
“Yes, is there a problem?”
“But I haven’t packed.”
“You don’t need to worry. We’ll find you something when we get there. So let’s go.”
“We’re using a car this time, right?” I asked as we headed downstairs. No more teleporting. My stomach couldn’t take it.
“Yes,” Yujin said. “Phew,” I breathed in relief.
“The person driving us is already here,” he said. “As they were going down stairs.”
“Who is this person?”
“Azriel.”
“But I thought you guys haven’t talked for a long while.”
“Yes.”
“Won’t it be awkward?” I asked.
“Enough of the questions!!!” Yujin snapped, raising his voice.
I just looked at him, shocked, and created space between us before I kept walking. We reached the car.
Azriel leaned out. “Hey, Yujin, who is she?”
