In my mind I knew that it was a sound structure, but I couldn’t help imagining the roof collapsing and spearing us all with the sharp, jagged projections. The man at my left tapped my shoulder and then pointed to three separate exits out of the monster’s mouth. Two were almost straight ahead and one far off to the right. I turned around to search the crowd for Lilith and Stephen. They emerged right before the last men in the line, who laid the rope pathway behind us. The impressive cavern held their attention as I made my way toward them.
